Was Froggy's open last night or are they closed down now?

While I do find MB's account of the state of his marriage a bit 'off', I suppose the shock of what has happened could explain away a lot of how I perceive him that way.
From reading many incredibly well stated points on the matter, I am learning more and more that the amount of NH's bail is extremely unusual, to say the least, and sends a very loud message that LE thinks they have their guy.

But my disclaimer is this...Could it be someone else? IMO. Yes! Or more then one person? Yes! Until I know with concrete evidence that they have the right suspect I will keep an open mind, that's just how I am. I would, actually imagine that is how LE is playing their hand too.

They were open last night.

I forget who asked here, but I did find out there is no way to tell what time that Kelli or Nick last sung that night.

Part of me wonders if there was more than one person involved in her disappearance. People in relation to Froggy bottoms. Kind of like a gang rape type of thing. If they knew Kelli's husband was out of town and that Nick was her ride, who's to say a few of them including Nick planned this out together including alibi's?? She was newer to the bar and there have been other rapes of girls leaving that bar.

Never know!
Im not feeling that tho!
I think its one! And he knew her!

I have always maintained that Nick's $100,000 bail was very high for FTR, though legally allowable. Most FTR's are bonded at $10,000 or OR for offenders who haven't actively tried to evade registration, and even for those who have tried to evade it, it's rarely higher than $25,000. I've seen one instance of $50,000, but that was only because they suspected the RSO of another crime when they arrested him for FTR.

A $100,000 bond definitely means they want Nick in custody. They know he can't scrape up 10 grand for the 10%, and since Nick doesn't appear to have any other charges or warrants, only one reason to keep him locked up: He is the prime, if not only, suspect in the disappearance, and potential murder, of Kelli.

:seeya: Hello all ...been lurking for ever ... but decided to add my :twocents: here. I'm in Texas so I dont know how NC does magistriation ...which is what we call bond setting. When you are arrested here within 24 hrs you will see the Judge which is the Justice of the Peace here...you are taken into a court room and your read your maranda rights again by the JP. You are told what your charges are against you and the JP ( after reviewing your arrest and your crim. record )will determine what your bail bond amt will be depending on the class of your arrest (Misd or Felony). Now lets say he is a RSO that has FTR...the JP will see this as a flight risk ... and your bond will be higher than normal. 15% to 50% is what Bail Bondsman can charge here and they want that amt UP FRONT to bond you out .......Now lets say you have charges pending investigation ....Texas has 72 hrs before they either have to charge you or drop the pending charge...Then you go before the JP again for bond setting on the pending charge....or its dropped and you bond out on first charge if you can afford to.
If your lawyer feels the first bond is too high ...He/She has to request a bond reduction and that goes before the District court Judge for felony or Misd Judge for a review as to bond reduction reguest. And of course this all takes .....time...... As to the high bond that has been set on this FTR-RSO ...most times the judge will stick to the high amt again because of flight risk.
I hope this helps ...I have stayed a lurker because I'm not good at writing and making myself understood ....and i hate to make myself sound like i'm crazy !!!! :blushing: But this is my job to do the paperwork in the court room with the JP......so alittle experiance here in this area. Thanks for reading!!!!!

Hey VOH...
IIRC you said there was an ATM in the bar. If so, do you recall if any one used it that evening?
And, do you remember ever seeing NH use it...in general, not talking about that evening cause you likely couldn't say.
How about Kelli?
TIA.

Yes. I read that last night which makes Nick look more like the suspect since cops don't think she was even near her apartment entrance. He needed some evidence to support his story that he dropped her off.

Didnt he say he left her at the entrance to the apt complex?
Not at the entrance to her apt!

Im still not sure he didnt!

There is an ATM in the bar. I have no clue who or if anyone used it that evening. I don't remember if Nick ever used it. To be honest, last night was the first time I consciously noticed anyone using it and that's cause it was a buddy of mine.

I have a question!

Have you noticed anyone missing from the reg croud besides Nick?

VOH, looking for that article that I was talking about earlier and I can't find it anywhere. I don't know if I read it wrong because the one I found said "near Froggy Bottoms". I'm at my daughters soccer game and it's half time. Not sure if I can delete that post from my phone. I will delete it when I get home if a mod doesn't get to it first. Sorry about that:(

Where are the reports of women being raped leaving the bar?

Can we get a year to look for this other rape of the woman after leaving Froggy's? I think it was spoiledmom who origionally spoke of it. :what:

I dont think she was dead in that car the cadaver dogs would know and then LE would know she is dead! JMO He would have been arrested sooner than he was if that was the case. JMO

An opinion - sadly LE may already know that and left him out a couple days to see if he would return to the place.

  • #815
mamamia, I think spoiledmom explained just above your post she had misread....she was talking about the others rapes reported in the vicinity....the reporters used the name froggy bottoms area to sensationalize i believe....Does not change the fact that Fayetteville has a Serial Rapist out there....IMHO

Regulars aren't always there every night. There are lots of people I personally haven't seen the few times I have been there since that night. However, that doesn't indicate anything. Everyone who was there that night has been back at least once.

I respectfully disagree!
Circumstancial evidence and they would have charged him with murder then tightened the noose and said they would take the dp off the table if he tells where she is.
I dont think they have any evidence she is dead! because they dont have a crime scene.

VOH, I know you cannot tell us where her car was that night. But can you tell us where it is now? Have you been past her apt., is it returned to there? Is it gone to where you think they may have it for searching held up in a police shed? I just would like to know if you can say or if you know where her car is now? TIA
