I think the frustration here is that AD is not charged as others are pointing out

NO one is "blowing a gasket"...we just want to see this case given full attention by the state..we want to see the media stay on this

I personally would love to see the case of Shaynia, and now little Sarah in Maryland...and so many other sad cases...be used to effect changes in the law

I personally think we need federal laws/guidelines/database...JMO

That is admittedly not going to change things for Shaynia, but we don't want this sad story forgotten

I would also like to see changes in social services....and also some laws with "teeth" regarding bad mothers who make horrible decisions, bad fathers

what a shame that all these jerks had some sort of turkey and stuffing in jail yesterday...and BL and his large clan I am sure gathered together or in various groups depending on who is getting along with who to stuff their faces

Shaynia had Christmas in Heaven...about 75 years too soon IMHO

Logical, I agree with your post except I question the bolded by me part. IMO he is also a victim. I know you see it different and I'm not trying to get that debate going. Just wanted to let you know I agree with MOST of your post. I know we don't see eye to eye in most of these cases.

BBM (bold by me)
What political agenda? Who's got the connections? MAM? AD? I don't get this? The charges were delayed with legal motions by the defense, which is allowed by law. The last thing any of us here for Shaniya is for some law to be stepped on to help MAM or AD. I'll wait until Jan/Feb, 2010 before I "panic" or blow a gasket. Justice is always slow. Like I said earlier, I think I'm so much older/been through more ... it's coming, it's coming. The holiday season is always s l o w, IMO.

IMHO...THIS political agenda.

In 2005 Congress mandated that due to the BRAC (Base Realignment and Closure) effort Fort Bragg would gain several new commands. The Army will be closing down United States Forces Command and the United States Reserve Command in Atlanta and moving them to Fort Bragg. This move is expected to relocate over 30,000 people to the area as a result of the command changes and businesses that will move to support the command. FORSCOM awards over $300 billion in contracts annually. Fayetteville Observer BRAC: Developers Place Bets on Growth

Thanks a lot, I had read this and forgot about it...
(My mind does wonder, and sometimes it just disappears - LOL)
It is sad just how much there is to know about this horrific topic. :(

It is a heartache indeed, and there is more, I just did not want to send you all packing because it is overwhelming. :(

I agree with you that BL is also a victim, but unfortunately it is due to his own negligence so while I do feel sorry for him, I am pointing fingers at him and at his sister too. "UNINTENTIONAL" is sometimes just not enough.
They should have done something intentional to protect Shaniya. So as much As it is hard to lose a loved one. My heart and pity is for Shaniya not BL & CDL  Like Logical Mind said they ate Turkey this year Shaniya did not. :(

Yes it is, in my experience with the legal ways of the real world. Cases/charging can take years to come to court, but K if you think diff. Might want to sit down (or not ... lol) because the Defense can stall/hold out for a very long time with motion after motion after motion. We seem to live in a TV world of arrest/charge/guilty/not guilty within days. Doesn't really work that way. :) AD's defense atty will want her pg to be further along for sympathy. Won't work, imo, but the public defender will use any/all excuses (within the law) to make her sympathetic. IMO.

Would help if I knew the names so I could look them up, but that's OK too.

I read about "panic/freaking out" (here ^^^^) and as you referenced political coverup. OK. I'll wait.

I'm not concerned. AD and MAM are sitting their sorry butts in prison!! Makes me smile!! Let 'em sit.

BBM The attorney for AD a/o Nov 20, 2009 is/was DW Bray.
from fayobserver "Davis, whose lawyer is D.W. Bray, remains in jail with bail set at $51,000."
Link:
http://www.fayobserver.com/Articles/2009/11/20/953940
O/T per Gooogle, DW Bray is also the attorney for A Marine accused of killing his soldier wife. Google this case, it may give an indication as to his style of defense.

I have a feeling she is looking for names of local politicians who do not want to much noise on the topic; there is little they seem to be able to do, about the trafficking problem there with all the connecting highways.

I think the local government is also concerned because they just invested millions in a new shopping mall and don't want people not to move there.
I know of 2 families who stopped looking to relocate there because of the Shaniya case.
JMHO

Above bolded by me to answer. PEACE for gosh sakes. I'm on the side of our angels/lost/missing ones. ALL of them whether they are little ones all the way to the aged.
You misunderstood me.
I never suggested that we should appoint politicians...only that we should start paying more attention to the caliber of person we are voting for.
At one point, it was ridiculous for Americans to think they would need to show ID going into Mexico, or simply be required to produce ID at random. Now it's law, as are seat belts and "Drive 55". People would adjust to birth certificates being required fare. MOO.
I am only worried about the parents and caregivers understanding it. Not the others. That one lost something in translation.
And yes I would like another law named after a dead child. We can't start pushing to enforce them to maximum potential until we get them on the books.

I'm not arguing with you. Simply passionate. We all come here for the same reasons, and just because I have a different viewpoint doesn't mean that I don't want to hear yours. Sorry if it seemed like I was this guy --->:croc:

Justice for Shaniya would include making sure this doesn't happen to other kids, protecting the others that will come behind her.
That will not happen, at least not soon. For various reasons, one of which is that our government is above all a business. And a business does not take a stand against a practice, no matter how morally reprehensible, that brings in billions of dollars a year.
Shaniya is a small case, now, but the underlying issue, the use of children as sexual commodities, is not. It's big business. And the laws that would make it serious and force parents to stop would also force the others to stop. Then we lose billions.
This is the reason why a lot of good people have stopped fighting. They saw what they were up against and there was no way to win. I believe there is a way to win. I just don't know what it is.

(BTW, still working on Shaniya's website, but my fiancee was supposed to help, and he has been with his grandmother a lot over the past few days. She's 94 and in the hospital with the flu. I know you guys understand.)

Noted an I respect your opinion too but I am just curious, you see him as a victim who was just 1/2 asleep? just curious.because I think he would have had to be 1/2 zonked out / clueless about AD's situation, location, condition.

ONE thing about going to Mexico in a CAR. You need nothing to enter the Border Zones (about 12 miles inland/aka 20 kilometers). I do this all the time. I drive across and wave at the Mexican Border Patrol. I live in New Mexico and do go to Mexico often and sometimes I veer over to El Paso/Juarez to cross over. You need nothing to cross. You do need ID/passport to come back to the US though.

If your travel is within the Border Zone (usually up to 20 kilometers south of the U.S.-Mexico Border) or the Free Trade Zone (including the Baja California Peninsula and the Sonora Free Trade Zone) there are no procedures to comply with.

More at link for those who want to read/care.

Have no idea what this has to do with Shaniya, but wanted to set the record straight from my world. TIA and much love to everyone here for the missing/lost kids/teens/adults/senior citizens. I appresh!

Had to do with the ease in which people would adjust to having to show birth certificates...not that it really matters much because I was wrong on procedure.
