It's textbook erasers. Remember that book we both read after the Young trial sister Borndem? What was the title?

bbm

Yes!!! Dummy me, seachiq -- that was the name of it!! Erasers, right? Or something close... doh...

(My DH who did a whole lot of work on this with me passed away last summer and I am guessing a lot of my files are on his computer, which isn't up and running anymore.)

I'm so sorry for your loss!! I'm so grateful for all you've done for this case!

Lot's of love for the poor people on the jury, but really? Day 3 and court is cancelled because someone is sick? Pulling my hair out!

I want to say three, but I am not sure if I heard it or if I dreamed it.

I would hate to see them already having to pull one in this early. This trial has been such a long time in getting here, I surely don't want any problems with the jurors or anything else. I'm so ready for justice!

Does anybody know how many alternates are on this jury?

I thought I read two alternates. Hopefully this juror will be able to proceed tomorrow so we don't need to worry about pulling in an alternate already.

Well dayam!

Judge comes in & says a juror is ill so no court today.... adjourned. Fade to black. All dressed up & nowhere to go. Fooey, fooey, fooey. Too early to lose a juror -- hope he/she is better tomorrow....

I was late getting to the site, and thought I had the wrong live feed, and have been fooling around over there ever since. Duh.
I remember reading there were two or three alternates, too, and I thought the number was low. But if they really only expect it to last a few weeks, that seems logical.
How hard this must be for Janet's loved ones - all that waiting, and they must be SO ready to have this all behind them.

Thanks for the link - this was an interesting article. It reads in part:

In a close-up of Abaroa’s right hand, “We’re looking at hairs in the grasp of her fingers,” Jackson continued. “We couldn’t tell what type of hairs it was at this point.”

Jackson and the two investigators working with her collected the hairs with trace tape.

DNA is such a sophisticated and advanced tool these days , I'm surprised we haven't heard the results of the hair samples found in Janet's hand. It seems if they were Ravens, he would have been arrested at the time the results came back from the DNA test. ????? Seems lots of tails are yet to be tied up.
Another snip:
The porch and deck were coated with pollen that had not been disturbed.

“There appeared to have been no activity on the back deck,” Jackson said

***
This seems to shoot down ANY proof of an intruder leaving a handprint, then exiting the side door - why are the DT even arguing that when it seems the pollen evidence is so solid?
Did they say the dog tracked the scent out that same side door down to the stream? Or was it tracking out the front door?

It was a good article, JJ -- what was that b.s. about him finding her crouched over or doubled over or whatever, when he entered the room? He went to her and laid her down on her back and he said her lips were cold? Hogwash of a high order, IMO. In a warmish environment, rigor can begin in 2 hours. Why would he say that? Did she double up to defend herself from the knife he was holding, and he remembered the image of that? Anyway, he somehow won that battle with a tip-top in-shape woman fighting for her life. He's not a very smart criminal, IMO. (But he was smart enuff to have several years of freedom along with yet another failed marriage.) Grrrrrrrrrrr.
