NC vs. Raven Abaroa ~ the Trial

fragile - well.........................some were tight lipped. lol
I'll bet his attorneys could bop Raven one for doing the four part interview with the news station. I listened to it last night - and found an interesting point.

During OS, the DT mentioned there was "confusion" about when exactly Kaiden was picked up after work - before or after the tire store stop.
Yet in Raven's interview, there was no such confusion. He stated boldly and with out reservation when they picked up Kaiden - I just can't remember which he said. But the point is - there was no question in Raven's mind - only the DT.
That tells me they want to disagree with Raven's accounting of when they picked Kaiden up, yet are presenting it as "confusion". Interesting.

The DT gal should be a little more careful with her whispering. I can't make it out, but I'm not trying as hard as I hope the state is. lol

I *did* like the part he did tell them. That they need to be alert to "pieces of the puzzle" - warning them, in essence, to keep track of the small, but important bits of testimony. But like you, I was disappointed he gave them no where to hang their hat. No theory of the case whatsoever.
There must be a good reason for that we just aren't aware of. (I'm looking at the half *full* glass - lol)

Maybe it's part of a brilliant strategy. I hope so!

Was there a gag order of some kind in this case? There are very few news articles that have any actual information. They simply repeat the few sentences over and over

Even taking into account the amount of time that has passed since the murder, the trial is on NOW, and I would expect more information in the public view.
Is there a site we are able to read the court minutes, and the legal history of this case as we are in the Arias case?

When I first heard about this case it was on a 48 Hours or Dateline type show. Raven had already remarried and divorced a girl named Vanessa who has come out and said she is afraid of him and thinks he did this. I also watched the interview you talked about, other then that I dont know much more. At the time I became interested in this he had not even been arrested. I believe his mom has Kaiden and she is another "in denial" of what her son is capable of.

I think its been said, but this district has been plagued with problems in the Prosecutor's office and that was part of the problem in getting this to trail. Frankly I think it's a miracle he's finally to this point and we'll see if its enough to get him convicted. I hope so!

As the resident fashion consultant I declare everyone's "style" sucks. Tsk tsk.

OK, we already know he came in to look for her and turned her over. Are his keys being there significant for some other reason?

Did his keys have blood, or blood spatter on them??

I must have missed it. Was the door to the den already open when Raven found Janet, or did he need to open a closed door? The witness is now testifying to the placement of Janet's body, but I can't tell if her feet are so close to the entry that the door couldn't have been closed.
Does anyone here have this info?

No snow in April in this part of NC -- should never (!) happen. I don't even know if there is ever snow in the NC mountains that time of year... Again, the investigator spoke of pollen all over the front porch -- that's from the NC pine & oak trees blossoming. Our azaleas, dogwoods & all types of shrubs & flowers are blooming. 60--75 degree days. Other than that awful allergy-provoking pollen, it's a great time of spring & warmish days.

Yup, Yellow Snow has a whole different meaning in North Carolina :D

Last time there was an April snow in Raleigh was 1983. we DID have snow where I am in the first week of this month, but I'm way up in the mountains, and at a decent altitude, so yeah. Not as unlikely up here, down in Raleigh though? hardly ever happens.

I wish they could just blur the image rather than take the visual feed down entirely. I'm still trying to make sense of their words, and it's a little easier if we can see what they're doing. I don't usually have this much trouble with accents. I think it's a combination of that, and the poor audio equipment in the court room.
The microphones must be in inopportune spots to have the speech be so garbled.

Can you help me understand the pictures? What is the illusion I am thinking is snow? Could it just be a glare on the pix?

My audio is going in and out. Are they saying Janet had a defensive would on her right hand??

Oh, so that's why the feed was "gone"? Makes sense.
