'There is a lot of evil out there': Search for missing NJ girl, 5, goes on

The search is scheduled to start 9 a.m. Sunday from the Alden Field area, not far from where Dulce Maria Alavez Perez went missing on Sept. 16. The girl was at a playground with her younger brother when she disappeared.

[...]

Volunteers also plan to go door-to-door with missing person flyers, hitting various parts of Bridgeton, partly to reach people who do not have access to social media and may not have all the available information.

“We still hope that we still will find her,” said Jackie Rodriguez, who with other private citizens has been helping the Alavez Perez family.

The suspected kidnapper, described as a man between 5 ft 6 ins and 5 ft 8 ins tall, with a thin build and no facial hair, allegedly led the child into a red van with a sliding door on the passenger side and tinted windows, and drove off, leaving her three-year-old brother behind on the playground.

The planned search comes after police released a sketch of someone they want to speak with in relation to the disappearance.

It says no facial hair, but there is facial hair in the sketch.

Ha, I was just going to post the same question. He has a moustache and a slight goatee. ?

The sketch is not of the man who supposedly lured Dulce into a van. The sketch is of the man was supposedly seen there at the time, considered a potential witness.

They are two different persons, supposedly. Not the same guy. The one with facial hair is considered a witness.

Is there a sketch of the abductor?

So she has to hide her face in public? What the heck? Her boyfriend, friends, neighbors aren’t even standing with her to show support. :(
Well, the boyfriend is an illegal alien as far as I can tell. He was reportedly detained by ICE but then released, but who knows where he is now.

I’m sorry to be Debbie Doubter, but I am having problems anchoring on any of these details. Everything about this case doesn’t add up. None of the renditions, stories, or claims. None of it. This is unusual for me. I’m calling baloney on this one.

I’m sorry to say I have no useful ideas as to where this dear child might be, but I think the current approach is a big red herring.

it makes no sense. she knows they all know it's her, right, so why attempt to hide her face?
And you can't un-ring a bell anyway. She gave interviews, people know what she looks like.

Well, perhaps being extremely pregnant is making her less inclined to put herself forth for the public scrutiny she knows would come. She’s probably at a point in the pregnancy where she is just trying to be calm and prepared vs. distressed. If that is possible.

what a mess. So sad at many levels. prayers for Dulce.

Why would they make a witness sketch but not one of the abductor? This is a weird case from top to bottom.

This really is a mess :( I’ve followed other child cases & I gotta say, this is such an odd one! Even the feeling I get when I watch the videos is just weird vibes. Not good for Dulce AT ALL. MOO

The person who saw a supposed abductor is a child of tender years, potentially even non-verbal 3 year old brother. It's probably impossible to come up with the sketch because the witness is a young child. A different person saw the guy with a goatee so they could do a sketch of that one.

It just looks weird and probably not going to help with social media having a better opinions.

The presentation here (I don’t know if it’s a vibe) is just so different from what I am used to seeing in abduction cases. Usually the person being interviewed is accompanied by a supporting person, if not surrounded by family/friends/neighbors. Even estranged parents may stand together for interviews. Sometimes they are crying or feisty. Sometimes begging for the return and other times ready to fight anyone to get their child back. I almost always see Noema or Norma speaking alone. It’s very quiet/almost shy and reserved. I don’t know if this personality difference is what is throwing people off? It isn’t what is “expected”? But I agree with the poster who said very little adds up here. Probably because no one seems to be a witness to what happened except possibly a tiny boy who cannot yet speak. Other than that, we have a witness who described/saw/helped with a sketch of another witness who may have seen the guy we don’t have a sketch for put Dulce into a van we can’t find. What in the world?

You nailed it for me! I could not for the life of me put my finger on it, but everything you said is exactly how I feel. Can any of this be fixed?? I feel so badly for Dulce ;( This is just overshadowing finding her...MOO

I think being 19 and pregnant and in the public eye is a daunting task for anyone. But yea, I don't believe any of the renditions of the story being told. Not at all.
