Wonder if he thought that the baby may not be his and couldn't take it.
No. He was the cheater. See many MSM articles upthread about his wife leaving him.

It does sound as if he was unmoored and desperate, making lots of bad impulsive decisions culminating with this. I would not be surprised if this was fundamentally just a high-profile suicide.

It was posted upthread that the infidelity involved was on his part.

I think this should of course be thoroughly investigated and all leads followed. But I don't see anything yet that leads to terrorism. It seems like a suicide, though it is strange for sure. These weren't high powered explosives, they were fireworks. That is pretty low power. Given his training and experience, if he had wanted to injury or kill people, he could have. But I am guessing this tragedy is just spilling out of a domestic dispute. But i think the investigation should proceed.
Agree, but will wait until the investigation concludes. At this time, LE in Las Vegas have categorized this as not a "suicide mission" but a "suicide with a bombing mission."

He wouldn't be happy if he knew that Trump labeled his act terrorism. This guy wasn't thinking straight and acted on impulse. A broken marriage wasn't worth dying for. He had a history of unstable relationships and depression.

The timing, linked in time to Trump's statement in favour of the H-1B visas supported by Trump, makes me think that he might well have intended that as a final statement. His family had fallen apart, his work was in transition, then Trump was making a statement that he could plausibly see as a betrayal of MAGA. Why not kill himself, especially in such a way as to make his upset with Trump clear?

I understand that. His wife stated this. I can't imagine that she would say that she had cheated. I just don't see him committing suicide over being caught cheating. JMO

Do we think he could have been suicidal and offered a large amount of money to drive the truck and blow it up?

IMO, if he was upset with Trump in any way and wanted it known, he would have left a statement behind, possibly on social media, not leave everyone speculating.

Live Press Conference 1:07 ET News Nation:
-DNA confirmed
-Confirmed purchases match data along route

“Surveillance Log” is the title of a journal written Dec 21 - Dec 31 in an app on the phone they have gained access to
Tesla has helped them extract data and the vehicle was not in FULL self driving mode at any point during this incident.

GSW: Intraorbital out left side

He discusses grievances in one letter toward the US and writes in his words “This isn’t a terrorist attack, it is a wake up call”

Suggests they have only accessed one of two phones, are barely scratching the surface and are receiving information hourly.

No connection to date to NOLA or Terrorist Orgs

Prepared for this alone is the belief at this time.

Wow, perhaps there's a manifesto after all. I wonder what his grievances are.

ETA: Apparently he's calling the event "a stunt" to bring attention to issues that bother him.

ETA2: Excerpt from on of his letters: "Why did I personally do it now? I needed to cleanse my mind of the brothers I've lost and relieve myself of the burden of the lives I took."

ETA3: Another excerpt: "Fellow Service members, Veteran and all Americans, TIME TO WAKE UP! We are being led by weak and feckless leadership who only serve to enrich themselves."

I had just seen that there was an "allegation of infidelity." I never saw anything that said it was true or who the allegation was against.

He confirms what many of us thought:

"We are the United States of America, the best country ... to ever exist, but right now, we are terminally ill and headed towards collapse," a second letter said. "This was not a terrorist attack. It was a wake up call. Americans only pay attention to spectacles and violence. What better way to get my point across than a stunt with fireworks and explosives. ... I need to cleanse my mind of the brothers I’ve lost, and relieve myself of the burden of the lives I took."

The wife of the US soldier who blew up a Tesla Cybertruck outside the Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas on Wednesday broke up with him six days before he killed himself inside the vehicle, according to law enforcement sources.

Matthew Livelsberger, 37, left his Colorado Springs home the day after Christmas following an argument with his wife over apparent infidelity, two sources familiar with the investigation told The Post.

His wife — who had a baby daughter with Livelsberger — reportedly told him that she knew he had been cheating, the sources said.

Did he kill people while serving?

Knowing now that there's a set of grievances, would he have gone through with the stunt if there wasn't for the dispute with his wife on Christmas?

ETA: They are trying to blame PSTD at the presser.

He was in long enough, and in combat zones long enough, and in the right line of work (combat role), where it’s very likely he did.

I think he was showing all the signs of PTSD.

If there wasn’t a dispute with his wife, I don’t think he necessarily would have done this right now. But in a way, I think it’s a good thing. This could have potentially been a lot worse if he had pivoted from suicide to something else, like a mass casualty attack down the road.

Or he could have wound up getting help, and nothing would have happened. Just impossible to know.

I find it interesting the journal starts 12/21, but perhaps he recognized he was going to face some conversations with his wife when he did return home.
