Snipped:
Authorities in Newburgh, which is in Orange County about 60 miles north of New York City, issued the alert at 6:25 p.m. Wednesday but cancelled the child-abduction alert bulletin at 10:21 a.m. today. Police said they will discuss the situation later today at a news conference.

Snipped:
Another child told WABC, "I saw the pickup truck. It had blue license plates, and when the man got out of the car with two bags, we started running."

The girl was described as possibly Hispanic, about 5 or 6 years old and 3-feet tall with long black hair and wearing a short-sleeve, bright-pink shirt with white stripes, according to the news release.

Police said the truck was occupied by two males. The vehicle is a black pickup truck with green writing on the sides.

If women reported a black pick up following them the past few days & then children report a black pick up in this abduction..I'm just thinking out loud here...

Just a couple thoughts....
The description of the truck is pretty detailed for it all to be made up.........

None of my kids fibbed when they were 5.. now that my oldest is 11 he'll tell me aliens abducted him if he thinks it will get him out of trouble for being home late from the park lol...but my 5 yr old won't lie or fib to us even with his older brothers trying to get him to.
Example I overheard a convo. the other night when we had ice cream for dessert..

Older boys to my 5 yr old...
Go tell mom the dog ate your ice cream and you want more

NOOO that's lying

But Logan we'll share it with you when you get more

NOOOO I'll get in trouble, NO WAY

LOL

anything on when the PC is suppose to happen?

My first gut reaction is that maybe the parents are illegals and are afraid to come forward. :dunno:

I hope we don't find out that the parent/parents met with foul play. .. but that could explain this too. :(

Hambirg, gosh I didn't even consider that! Also, made me think of something else: What about if the parent/s are/were involved in something really bad so are afraid to come forward for fear of arrest? Either way this poor child's life is in jeopardy. I hate these crimes. HATE!

That is a plausible explanation. It's easy for me to say even of I were an illegal, I would go to the police about my child but I'm not so I have to try to understand their position (if this is the case). I cannot imagine a better explanation why a 5 year old wasn't reported missing. :(

I completely agree with this as a possibility! (bbm) how sad if so.. they are most likely frantic and driving around like crazy people trying to find their baby on their own if this is the case!

hopefully PDQ!

They have a lot to answer for if a child really is indeed missing. They already said they had no reason to doubt the witnesses.

Put their hands on her neck and over her mouth & then into a garbage bag.

Infuriated isn't even the word.

How many doors did the truck have? Was it an extended cab? Green letters on the side - was it used for a business? What about the bed of the pickup? Long or short? Ladder racks or no (probably not, just thinking out loud here)?
