yeah, that bald spot is very obvious.....guessing he lost his cap while struggling with Shinbach?

eta...or he wanted to look different, leaving the building....hmm

Or maybe he was getting cocky like "I'll let them see more of me cause I am done"...........hopefully they find the right man, and soon.

What a horrific crime! My prayers for Dr. Faughey's family and friends and all those who depended on her, and prayers for the witnesses, too. I hope they catch this guy soon!!!

I know LE keeps saying that they feel Faughey was the target of this attack. IMO, I still really feel Shindach was. It wouldn't be much of a stretch to think that since he was the one who the suspect said he was going to go see. He even waited outside in the waiting room when Shindach wasn't available. At the below link is more info explaining the sketch ID among other things:

http://www.nytimes.com/2008/02/15/nyregion/15slay.html?pagewanted=1&_r=1&ref=nyregion

(snips)
Photographs of him were shown to Dr. Shinbach and a woman who had been in his office on the night of the slaying, said a law enforcement official who had been briefed.
The woman did not identify Mr. Kunsman as the attacker, but Dr. Shinbach did, law enforcement officials said. The e-mail messages Dr. Faughey exchanged with Mr. Kunsman dealt not with any romantic issues, officials said, but with practical problems Mr. Kunsman was having, possibly over losing his job and his health insurance, officials said.
***
He appeared to have a fuller head of hair than the man the witnesses described, and the one on the videotape has a bald spot.
***
“I looked at the video,” Mr. Adam said of the videotape images. “That was not my recollection of what he looked like, but the video was poor." Mr. Adam said none of his wife’s patients were referred to her from the courts or criminal justice system, but through conventional professional channels.

This is such a horrible thing, my prayers for the doctors' families and also for their patients, as it takes awhile to build up a trusted relationship with a therapist and they will be suffering also.

I feel the suitcase was left there to throw off LE; we're all familiar with the astronaut who had the adult diapers etc in her car. Wheeling in the suitcase itself may not have aroused suspicion. I have seen reps for medicine companies come in with them stock full of freebies pertaining to new medications on the market. The man who did this, took pains to do things to throw suspicion away from himself. Dr. Shinbach did not know him. The killer told him "i know where you live" after ripping his wallet out of his pants. The wallet had a driver's license and he also took money. The killer was yelling about not being helped or something to that effect. It seems to me like he wants to appear to be a patient to those who would have heard it.
He is a dangerous sociopath. I think police are on the right track with this PA guy. A sociopath can go through 10 hours of questioning and act like they don't have a guilty thought on their conscience. There have been cases of serial killers being interviewed by police, bluffing, being released and later caught; for example Arthur Shawcross.

The killer had an obsession with Dr. Faughey for some reason. His obsession made it personal, with the overkill and violence committed during the murder of Dr. Faughey and the attack of Dr. Shinbach.

One minute we have a man sitting in the waiting area chatting nonchalantly with a patient who was waiting, before going into Faughey's office. A half hour later there were screams.

"Faughey's receptionist had gone home and a female patient was waiting for Shinbach. The killer - wearing a green coat and sneakers - chatted with her for a time and then suddenly went into Faughey's office, sources said. About half an hour later, Shinbach heard screams and ran to his colleague's aid."

I don't think he was a regular patient of Faughey's as he seemed very unconcerned about chatting it up with a patient who was waiting for Shinbach. He didn't seem to fear being recognized. He also must have been acting calmly and not arousing any suspicion until he could get into Faughey's office.
LE has the right idea in looking at the man from PA as he did say he had been emailing and phoning Dr. Faughey more often. This could have been a build up of his obsessions. Not to mention the diapers being sold only in that area of PA.
I think the only reason he didn't kill the woman who kicked him in the groin, is since he knew he was pressed for time to get out of there. The killer is a sociopath and is laughing probably thinking he got away with the perfect crime, when in reality he will be caught. Most likely due to his own cockiness.

Suzi, if this is so then why did the man sit with the female patient on the couch as she waited to go into her appointment and at that time didn't Dr. Shindach see this man? Wouldn't he have known him? As for the poor Doctor Shindach identifying that man I mean maybe the poor man was just so traumatized plus his injuries. It's a good theory though. It does fit with your thinking of the man being a caretaker. Thus the need for Geriatric Care.

If in fact there was any truth to the diapers being sold only in PA. There was a place up close to where this man is from up in PA. I doubt the connection of Doctor S. being from PA and this guy also being from there as a connection. Way, way far from eachother. What I found online about this guy from up in PA is he was a good golfer along with his wife, Carol. Big into like their country club type thingie. She aslo purchased a Bible and a wallet online. The wife. Just some extra information. Plus his guitar expertise of course and CD. He does have great hair though.

Meow, you are so correct about the patients suffering.

At the below link is a better uncut surveillance video of the suspect. You can enlarge the screen. At one point he looks right toward the camera. It is not the guy in PA. Besides it's already been mentioned by LE that there is no physical resemblence. Then you have that huge bald spot.

Filly, my thoughts are that the suspect is not a patient of Shindach, but merely knew of him and that's why Shindach didn't know him. Shindach may have been giving someone advice or help that didn't sit well with the suspect.

There has been a bit of misreporting about the diapers. They are sold at other locations. They just don't have alot of vendors. And one of the vendors just happens to be near Kunsman.

Yes, all I did was google I believe adult diapers in PA. There's quite a few up that way, but one closer to where he is from. That's God's country up there. Well, to us in the city anyway. I see what you means Suz, that the Doctor was advising someone the man knew or cared for. Got ya. Receptionist was Blessed she was not there. Edit to say there was two people purchasing adult rubber baby pants on e-bay that were from Pennsy too. That's how completely repulsed another human being could do this to another. I think that's why I want to know. I want to know why you would even be able to do such a thing.

Can someone use photoshop and invert the images; in picture 3 it appears the man has facial hair. In picture 4 it seems less prominent with an inverted image. Is it just me or does anyone else see that?

Meow you mean almost like those tapes or something? How they make a real thin line with the facial hair? Sorry, I'm not a photoshop literate chick. I see what you mean though. That doorman got to be kidding me. I guess they don't have to sign a log or anything. How horrific that went on and people were all walking in and out.

Receptionist was Blessed she was not there.

And how lucky was the patient!

This dude is freaky, I hope he is caught soon.

That patient is so lucky; i really think the only reason he spared her was he knew he had to get out of there before the cops came.
I could photoshop it; i just am not sure how to post it on here so ya'll could see..

That poor lady was already receiving help for something going on with her, and then to witness such a horror. I can't ever see getting past that.

Some people use photobucket or another type of photo album account. Maybe you can email the photo to someone here who has one?

  • #77
Alright, whoever has the photobucket can pm me with an email; in the morning i'll send it. I'll have to crop the photo into the different frames to enlarge it, otherwise the file will be very big. It's bedtime for me tonight; had a tooth out earlier..

Night Meow. I hope the tooth pulling don't bother ya tonight.

I've been reading alot about stalkers lately and wonder if the murderer could be a patient who had a delusional obsession with the psychologist and brought the suitcases in an attempt to abduct her. Maybe he was even Shambach's patient and Faughey only filled in for him a few times.
