Borderline Personality Disorder had crossed my mind (another similarity with Arias). In the disorder, idealization often alternates with devaluation. This pattern seems to appear in Adam's and Conley's unstable relationship as outlined by Lisi in closing.
Conley played mind games to manipulate Adam to come back (long disturbing text about ectopic pregnancy). When Adam left she went into devaluation mode and created the 'adamisgay' password and started to scheme how to get revenge. Yet she still wanted him even though she hated him. This is really twisted but the 'I hate you don't leave me' is a hallmark of the disorder. Then it became a plan to make Adam vulnerable and weak in an attempt to get him back by comforting him (nursing him back to health when ill???). When making him sick was not enough she thought she had to take it up a notch and hurt someone in his family. This plan was short lived as they were intimate the night of the memorial but the relationship ended soon thereafter.
All just my opinion as I am not an expert. I wish the prosecution would have brought in an expert like Dr. Janeen DeMarte, as Juan Martinez did, to delve into Conley's pathology and to bolster the motive outlined in closing.
