If I suspend reality for a moment and put myself in Elliot's shoes, I can tell you this: I would neither ask nor allow my wife to stand by my side in front of the press. If I did it myself I'd face the fire myself. I find that as offensive as when some white politician has made a racial slur against black people and and holds a press conference surrounded by black people. It just rubs me the wrong way......
I get you on this point, loud and clear. But perhaps she truly wanted to be up there with him and wouldn't be stopped - we just don't know. I too - if I found myself in his shoes - would want to take my medicine solo.
...... I cannot overlook the blatant, intentional and repeated lawbreaking flaws of the highest executive authority in the state.
I don't think she's overlooking his flaws. I've read nothing to indicate she's in denial about his repeated law-breaking and that behavior being in direct comflict with everything he has tried to stand for. Whether or not she can live with this flaw will be directly affected by a lot of things, to include her overall experience with him as a person and husband. Again - that's not a perspective I'm privy to.
