Gitana, it looks like the Crowdrabbit page links directly to the Fundrazr page... so I think she has brought in a whopping $120 total.

It's pretty amazing... the disparity between what she told her lawyer, and what she told her LE (just based on the 'story' on the Fundrazr page).

Body found is not Vincent.

"On May 14th, 2015 an autopsy was performed by the Dutchess County Medical Examiner’s Office in Poughkeepsie, NY and the decedent was positively identified as an adult male in his early 20’s that was suspected of jumping off the Mid-Hudson Bridge in mid April 2015. The cause of death was ruled a suicide."

Darn, I was so hopeful they had found him.

ciao

Ha!! Who knew? I never knew lawyers tweeted! About cases! Gotta love technology.

lol...
He's not tweeting about her case directly. I just googled him, saw that, and peed my pants.
I've been building a SNL skit in my head ever since.

He is retweeting about her case. That is very strange. LOL

ETA: See next posts...never mind. :)

Back to what she might have done to the kayak...here's an article from the beginning. I'm wandering what "grid lines" are and what this quote could mean. Kayakers?

"When the water is this rough, it’s very difficult to operate and keep your grid lines uniform," said Trooper Brendan Casey.

ETA: I did some quick googling and "grid lines" appear to refer to lines on the navigation chart. Now I'm wondering if he would be using a chart on the Hudson. I'm still interested in hearing from kayakers. :)

I interpret as a reference to the search itself, as in searching in a grid search formation.
Police said the rainy conditions made it difficult to look for 46-year-old Vincent Viafore.

"When the water is this rough, it’s very difficult to operate and keep your grid lines uniform," said Trooper Brendan Casey.

 Of course! I read it wrong. Never mind. :)

I'm quoting myself to add: perhaps in the mayhem of him capsizing during an argument and plug-pulling, that she pulled the kayak out of his reach while he struggled. He never tried to get back into the kayak because she was able to keep it away from him. The kayak never went under the water because she had control of it. The water was choppy and it was a windy, cold day. It would be a struggle from him to swim any distance and he didn't have long before the cold overcame him, if not the current as well. The Hudson is not a peaceful river and the current is strong. It would be a struggle even for a good swimmer, imo, and drugs aren't required (though I don't totally rule out the possibility yet). Just a thought.

I think this is totally plausible IF he indeed wasn't wearing his life vest as she reported. The simplest explanation is often the right one.

with regard to the diary entries I am thinking of "Gone Girl"---pardon any spoilers WS

sounds like her lawyer is a real dope!!! or else very smart---good way to taint the jury pool and maybe have trial moved

State police said they found both kayaks Sunday night.

I wonder if, letter-of-the-law, opening a drain that's made to be opened is enough for a murder conviction. Drilling a hole, yes. But this is actually a FEATURE of the kayak. Could they make the case he was negligent for not doing a gear check?

I can't help but wonder if she was tiring from all the police questions that day, or maybe she didn't like the cop that was asking the questions, so she started answering his questions sarcastically. In text form, the sarcasm wouldn't be obvious, but the comments themselves would be damning.

I hope everything was video'd that day, that would clarify it.

While this sounds like it might be remotely possible, I'm going to guess the odds are that it's not the case. Maybe a 0.00000000000001% chance.
