Bumping up for wfgodot

DA responded to question at the last presser

Prob need to be 100% sure that she has or had no other, in this case, male lover (that VV was unaware of)

There may be someone else, with either one of them.
That's been in the back of my mind.

IMO, she seemed like an opportunist, going from one man to the next.
JMOO. Her 2 marriages didn't last very long. She also went from job to job.

I'm sorry Vince fell for her, when there are so many good women out there.
It's very sad.

I wonder when we will hear about autopsy, any guesses?
Also his funeral.

My heart goes out to his family and friends.

Do you have a link to an LE source using that phrase? Right now I can only find it in the fevered prose of a tabloid caption writer.

If there's one thing I don't think think about AG it's that she is the sort to be able to manufacture "an elaborate ruse." The incident happened in sight of witnesses. Careful cunning? No. Madcap antic? -- sadly, perhaps.

It's mentioned in the above link, "police say it was an elaborate ruse.". I've seen it elsewhere as well which is why I continues to stand out to me.

This is where I was drawing the conclusion that they haven't ruled out an accomplice. Maybe I should have said "haven't publicly ruled out an accomplice.". It was stated in one of the linked articles as well. As soon as I find it I'll provide a link.

I think there have very well been an accomplice. Someone who knew what she was up to.

They are painting her a a demure 5' gal and him as 6'2".
I don't see that height difference in any of the pictures.
Yes, he's taller than her, but not "that" tall.
I also see her as a bit chunky, not so slim. JMOO.

She MAY have been involved with another male, but he (another lover) may have known nothing about AG's supposed elaborate plan to end VV's life--similar to the husband's lover in the NY Ramsaran case (She was not involved in his wife's murder.).

I would not rule out an accomplice either----that may have been the other kayaker.

Slightly OT yet On Topic---will this forum remain open for the trial?? And what kind of juror do we want ?

And going back to "the wedding"------ were plans actually made? IIRC she was not exactly divorced for Hubby 2 was she?

As for jurors, I would want to see people who understand the Constitution and are able to make an impartial judgement based on all of the evidence provided.
I think it will come down to whether or not the attorneys can perform the jobs assigned to them. Hopefully the DA will be able to effectively deal with some of (IMO) the comments her attorney has made so far (like wanting a 2nd autopsy, etc.) and will have significant amounts of evidence that proves her guilt.

FWIW, I believe without a doubt she caused his death. Even if she does end up free, she'll have to live and reflect on her actions until the day she dies. That alone will probably be torture even to someone who can be cold-hearted. Just my humble opinion. :)

AFAIK, only mention of a Baltic Sea wedding and a reception of sorts for family and friends back home on the water on a boat IIRC was mentioned on a Facebook picture comment thread. It was on VV's page. Not sure if it's still up, though. I remember it, because that photo was mentioned in a NYT article, and another WS had mentioned it way back upthread. I also noticed some of the comments (between VV & his close friend) were in another language.

Not sure if this qualifies as "plans being made" though.

Beside a photo posted to Mr. Viafore’s Facebook page on Jan. 26, of the couple kissing on a balcony in front of a golden sunset, Mr. Viafore wrote:

“The wedding’s going to be in Europe on the Baltic Sea, but we plan to do a Hudson River Cruise Party with whatever friends want to party with us!”

Still holding the "State has no case" fort here; good morning, all!

I'm thinking there is a case, but it does depend on her confession. If the defense can undermine jurors' confidence in her words being a true confession, the case weakens, imo. Then again, we haven't heard fully from the witnesses. We do know one boater says she purposely capsized herself.

I do like reading your skeptical posts in this case!

Wonder if they videotaped her "confession."

I've seen numerous references to 2 divorces and references to a former father-in-law with her same last name. This article states 2nd divorce finalized in 2009. Would clip but I'm on my phone.

The clear morning sky had filled with clouds by afternoon and as they paddled near the island in the gloaming, the temperature was plunging into the 50s and the wind was picking up. The water was choppy and unseasonably cold, about 46 degrees. The winter had been long and icy and local kayakers knew it was too early to hit the water, especially at night.
