Found Deceased OK, Veronica Butler 27 & Jilian Kelley 39, Vehicle Abandoned, Texas County, 30 Mar 2024 #7 *Arrests*

BREAKING: Cora Twombly has admitted on the stand to playing a SIGNIFICANT role in the planning and execution of #VeronicaButler and #JilianKelley. The DA stated that in exchange for her testimony, he would recommend a life sentence with 30 years suspended. In my opinion, this is grossly unjust—it could mean NO jail time.At one point in her testimony, Twombly admitted she saw Paul Grice struggling on the ground with Butler and asked for help. Twombly says she handed #TifanyAdams a stun gun… and that was it. The DA didn’t push her for any further detail. What?! Is the state going to step it up soon? They are so focused on what route Twombly took to get where. Cora Twombly appears to show zero remorse in my opinion. No emotion. More updates to come.

I HATE plea deals! And they’re always so damn generous!

How in the world is Grice being considered to testify? He's a direct killer. He went in, knife-a-slashing.

I could see where Cora might cut a deal for her testimony because she didn't have any direct contact with either victim. But, Grice?

And, Cora's only deal should be life in prison with parole in 20-30 years. Not a suspended sentence.

Something is rotten here.

The entire reporting here seems rotten, for sure.

This was a horrendous and vicious murder of two innocent young women.

Why any pleas at all. Just because of $$.
I really want some justification for this circus of events.

Ok. That’s good news. That other reporter got it wrong, which is great. I can live with 30 years.
If it was a full 30 years, I could, too. But in Oklahoma, a convict can be up for parole after serving 1/3 of their sentence. I can't stand the thought of Cora getting out in 10 years!

I have a hard time with this part of Grice's testimony. Yes, the details are horrible. But this part about the laugh just seems too outrageous. It could be completely true. But, Grice admitted he's a liar (spinning yarns about being part of a mercenary group). I wonder if he embellished his testimony at all?
Yeah, that does sound odd.

I don't see how autopsy reports can confirm whether a murderer laughed...
Wondering if the laugh is how Grice remembers it, but perhaps we should remember it has been months since the event and this memory has played over and over in his head. I would suspect his current memory may have evolved in his nightmares of that day and may not be exactly what happened. Perhaps TA did laugh, or chuckle or even giggle in nervousness, but his memory may have changed the sound over time. Or maybe it was a completely unhinged cackle at the time.

I actually don't. I think it happened just that way, evil laugh and all. Based on all I have read about TA and her prior interactions with people, it fits for me. What I take exception to is Grice in the retelling of this laugh seems to imply "and that your honor is when I knew I had messed up and been manipulated and tricked by this evil woman."

THAT I do not believe. Nobody tricked him into anything. He was a willing participant because it made him feel special. He liked it. It fed his ego. This alleged remorse is only because he got caught IMO.

Exactly! Had he been truly remorseful, he would have led the authorities to the burial site instead of researching ways to flee.

bbm

I think an unhinged cackle from TA sounds exactly right, from what we’ve heard and seen from her.

Is Oklahoma a death penalty state?

I thought the same thing when I read that. Sounds like something he’s heard before and maybe thought it would give his story some excitement or something. Sick. I don’t trust him at all. MOO.

On Tuesday, the court heard testimony from Cora Twombly, who was testifying as part of a plea agreement. Twombly spoke about how she, Cole Twombly, Adams and Cullum became a kind of anti-government church group. Twombly told the court that Adams had begun to talk more and more about her struggles with Butler. Adams is biological grandmother to two of Butler’s children. Twombly said eventually, Adams confided that she had plans to kill Butler.

Twombly also told the court about how the group early on, excluding her husband, began its plans for Butler. She did say, however, that later her husband was brought in, only a week prior to the deaths, because they needed him for a lookout. She said she had also told her daughter about the plans.

Twombly said she also operated as a lookout. She said they had intended to lure the two into a horse trailer, but things didn’t go according to their plans. She said Butler managed to get out and after driving up to the scene witnessed Grice stabbing Butler.
Well from my reading of that….. something seems suspect IMO.

So CorT says at first her husband ColT was brought in as a lookout?

Then IIUC she indicates that she (CorT) was a lookout?

And in the ‘one week’ time this was supposed to have occurred she confided in her daughter about the plan? (And had the daughter ‘clean’ the ‘hearse’ (my choice of words).

Ummmm…….. that is much too difficult IMO to believe? Seems unlikely IMO.

Seems the OK authorities need to do two things 1) review the agreement with CorT and indications of ‘truthfulness’ - and expecting it to be void if that occurs; 2) give CorT a lie detector / voice stress analysis test. And based on those results, if showing deception, ‘pull’ the deal granted to her. The one IMO many deem to find less than adequate for the crimes committed - and time granted for the ‘statement’. Two young women and mothers were brutally and savagely slain by the TA gang. SMH. MOO

He has definite credibility problems. He has admitted he made up stories to the group about killing people before, and today he admitted lying to investigators. I'm not saying he's lying about everything or that any of these people are innocent, because I don't believe that to be the case. But when it comes to details that seem overly theatrical and ghoulish (like evil laughter) that Cora didn't mention, I think it's fine to question them.

Curious to hear more about how he performed under cross-examination today.

I don't want to re-read the autopsy of JK but I believe this report by News Nation is misleading by stating PG murdered JK.

From the prelim hearing recap I listened to, Tad killed JK inside the trailer while PG was killing VB but sounded like PG was paranoid and feared JK did not look dead and might wake up and suggested after the fact Tad break her neck but was given some excuse about the angle she was at. PG testified he stabbed JK to be certain she was dead.

Perhaps PG's fears also stemmed from how much he struggled to kill VB after she escaped the trailer where had to tackle VB outside the trailer near her car and where VB left so much blood that TA angrily requested the road /blood evidence be covered with dirt.

Again, Tad was killing JK inside the horse trailer while PG was killing VB. PG alone was not responsible for murdering both women. MOO

Day two of the preliminary hearings for Tad Cullum and Cole Twombly, both charged with murder and kidnapping in the deaths of Veronica Butler and Jillian Kelley, saw significant developments.

Before testimony began, Cole Twombly waived his right to a preliminary hearing and a speedy trial. His next court appearance is scheduled for May 7.

Cora says she had a conversation with Grice and he told her he killed both Butler and Kelley. He said he killed Kelley in the trailer, while on the way to the burial site.

This afternoon, Jamie Beasley, the property owner of where Butler and Kelley were buried took the stand.

Three Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation agents also testified.

The judge has bound Tad Cullum over for trial.

Yesterday, Grice testified that while transporting the bodies to the burial site, he thought he saw Kelley’s eyes fluttering and worried she may still be alive.

He began panicking, thinking that Kelley would wake up in the freezer underground, so Grice said he stabbed Kelley in the neck to ensure that she was dead.

Kelley’s medical examiner’s report revealed that she was paralyzed from the neck down at the time of her death due to a broken neck, but it was not determined if Grice or Cullum broke it.

Grice said he was hiding in a stock trailer on the dirt road. He recalled hearing Adams say the children were in the trailer with a baby calf they wanted to show her.

"Veronica leaned in the side door of the trailer and that is when I attacked her," he said.

He hit her twice in the head with a ball peen hammer while he was inside the trailer and then once again after going outside, according to his testimony. The hammer broke the third time.

I had a feeling that Grice was a bit “off.” He was in a total murderous frenzy. My thoughts, this is precisely the reason he was chosen by TA for the job. Young, not too bright, looking for approval, rage issues…he was ripe for the picking.
