Found Deceased OR - Joshua McCoy, 5, Autism, goes by "Josh" or "Joshie", may not respond, missing when mom woke up frm nap at 5:30pm, Stage Rd, Hauser, 10 Nov 2024

<sigh>

All this & it takes over 4 months for anyone in DHS to react. Who raises a kid with this BS sitting around? Syringes & Narcan - so is it too early to assume there was more than barbiturates & ketamine being used?

"State workers documented “alcohol use, filthy home with food on the floor and human feces in the home,” according to the affidavit."

"During their investigation, police later learned that DHS had opened a case against German over claims of neglect and mistreatment towards McCoy. During a search of the home, police described unsanitary conditions, as well as several prescription pill bottles, syringes, and an unused box of Narcan in German’s bedroom."

Same ol story...
Another big US System, broken.
Hopefully, not beyond repair.
But we says this about drugs, gun, child services, insurance etc etc etc....
What is wrong with US, and the US...

Your first article mentions something I don't recall hearing before. She told authorities he "did not like to wear clothes, she said."

That likely explains why there was never a description of his clothes in his Missing info. Even if she really did take a nap, and he was clothes when they took their naps, he could have removed his clothes. But, what comes to mind is he died of hypothermia and exposure which contributed to his death. So, did she tell authorities " he didn't like to wear clothes" because she knew he was going to be found naked and hoped they'd figure he wandered off in the buff? The one thing she failed to remember was he appeared to have been carried to the spot he was found as he had no dirt on his feet nor scratches, which he would have walking through the underbrush.

I found a different article that has info that I don't recall hearing before. That according to the court docs, she told LE that they went down for their naps around 1:30pm and woke up around 3pm and Joshie was gone. That's different than that super long nap that we've all heard about. Makes me wonder if the MSM source got it right, or if she told 2 different stories.

Also, "She said she had been depressed and had been taking medication to help her sleep."

Evidently she changed her story later when speaking with authorities. It was mentioned specifically in one of the articles I read. It may not have been either I posted earlier today though.

Yes, the pills & needles & narcan found in her bedroom indicates to me she was definitely taking "medication" of some sort.

I went back & checked & the changing of AG’s story was mentioned in the first link in my first post in this thread today. It reads as follows:

"She told investigators that she went to sleep with her son at 1:30 p.m. and woke up about 90 minutes later because “ducks were inside the house.” She realized then that her son was missing.

According to the affidavit, German changed her account of when she fell asleep, telling authorities that she slept from about 10:30 a.m. until about 1 p.m.
"

But who? Or were they being used on someone? IMO
Only 1 person had needles & Narcan in their bedroom, allowed food to be left on the floor, along with human waste….at least as far as we know. No reports of anyone else occupying the home yet. That was the same person who was asleep in the home when her child disappeared & called her friend in UT instead of 911 & has changed her timeline once when speaking with authorities.

I’m seeing some waddling & hearing some quacking, if you smell what I’m stepping in….

If a child qualifies, it is federal law that they can receive services starting at birth and school programs starting at age 3. Each program is funded at the state level, but mandated by federal law. So, yes, if he qualified with a spectrum diagnosis, he could have started school on his 3rd birthday.

Just as a side note to anyone reading in the US. If you know a child age 0-5 with developmental delays not yet attending school, call your state’s Part C office and have them evaluated for free help and therapies.

Doesn't Head Start also begin at age 3, and provides services for qualified special-needs students?

COQUILLE, Ore. — The Coos County Sheriff's Office said Friday that an autopsy was performed on the remains of 5-year-old Joshua McCoy that showed the boy had died of hypothermia, which is the lowering of the body temperature when exposed to the outside elements.

"Elements of the autopsy are still being analyzed, and a final report has not been issued," CCSO stated.

*****
While the investigation is ongoing, CCSO said no specific information is released to the public until it has been reviewed by the District Attorney’s Office to ensure that a crime has not been committed and to protect the parties involved in the investigation.

"It is as important for investigators to prove innocence of involved parties as it is to prove guilt," the Sheriff's office stated.

Yes, there's also early head head start.
EHS is awesome! Head Start does have enrollment guidelines that mandate certain percentage of enrollment be “At risk families”(low income, homeless, CPS involvement) or special needs kiddos, so it’s unlikely this family would have qualified unless he was diagnosed well before his third birthday.(When they age out. Additionally for EHS, younger age is higher priority. For regular head start, closer to kindy is higher priority in selection when all other factors are the same.)

I have no doubt there were many community resources available for this child, but something tell me they weren’t being sought out.

"Right at the moment, I am not considering any criminal charges," said Coos County District Attorney Paul Frasier. "The only way I would change my mind on this is if the toxicologic reports come back and tell us something different. The information that we've gathered since that affidavit clearly shows that this child was not a homicide victim."

"At this point everything points to this being, unfortunately, a horrible, tragic accident," Frasier continued. "The autopsy found different evidence to suggest that in fact the child had been walking in the woods. The evidence at this point is clear, to my satisfaction, that the child, how he got there, was that he got out of his house, and he wondered into the woods until the place that we found him

From your linked MSM:

During the course of reviewing the evidence obtained, digital evidence was located from Joshua’s phone which led investigators to reasonably believe that Joshua had walked away from the home while Ms. German was sleeping. Although there are still laboratory results which have not been received, the evidence is now pointing to these articulable facts.

Wow. I am happy LE is being fully transparent & explaining their actions along with reasons for what they have done up to this point. Very professional & sensible decisions, as long as it doesn’t hurt them in court should charges requiring a trial be filed later.

Odd that AG avoided calling 911 or LE & the change in timeline if the digital evidence reasonably suggests he wandered from home. I wonder why the phone was in airplane mode? Sounds like that might have been a huge factor in helping find him the day he went missing had it not been in that mode. DA calling the facts articulable is a nice touch as circumstances may change.

From CCSO media release yesterday:

"In the following days and weeks search warrants were executed upon digital evidence and property seized during this case. During the course of reviewing the evidence obtained, digital evidence was located from Joshua’s phone which led investigators to reasonably believe that Joshua had walked away from the home while Ms. German was sleeping."

Gemmie, I read that as facts might change but as of now, that’s the story. You getting the same from that?

The clean feet, lack of scratches, her changing timeline & phone being in airplane mode doesn’t support Josh wandering off though. Maybe the mud on tires is also being tested somehow in addition to the tox report?

Yes, those are my thoughts as well, and I should have said that as I know y'all aren't mind readers. (I didn't sleep well and I'm pre-coffee, so a little slow on the uptake. lol)

What I also noticed in the article was that comment was made early on in the investigation. So yes, not only may the facts change, I suspect they will, and for a lot of various reasons, but mostly because Joshie didn't float to where he ended up with no mud/dirt on the bottom of his feet!! But that's JMO.

But it's even sadder to me that not only is it likely Joshie was killed... it appears he was left naked out in the woods to do just that. How horrible. I can't even imagine coming up with an idea like that. :(

I tend to agree. I’m not implying the mother murdered him in the traditional sense but I do get the impression she has, at the very least, not been honest with investigators. I noticed there was a pond on or near their property from your post with the link to Google Maps. Maybe he fell in? An accident doesn’t make sense to me because AG is a licensed nurse & I’d think would be able to handle a medical emergency - unless she was inebriated one way or another & misdiagnosed signs of life. It’s just not all adding up at all. My squirrels smell something.

After thinking a bit more about the CCSO media release, they may be playing nice for now in hopes that AG reappears. As @TTF14 put it earlier, in an attempt to draw her out. I don’t typically see LE being so transparent with the public when an investigation is ongoing - most is held closer to the vest.

JMO

ETA clothed or unclothed, leaving a child to die alone in the wild is unforgivable, especially when it’s a parent IMO

Yeah, they drained the pond in the beginning. Also, Joshie's father said he trained him not to go near it, AND not to wander away from the house.

Prior to the boy's body being found, a pond at the home "was drained and nothing of interest was located,"

AM always taught Joshua to stay away from the pond alone and not wander away from their home.

Wasn’t this person a nurse as well. The thought fills me with horror
