Othram Maps in Action!

This image shows how we narrow down where an unknown person fits in a family tree. Each hexagon represents a person. The green labels such as 135 cM show how much DNA the unknown individual shares with certain relatives. When multiple genetic relatives point back to the same branch of a tree, we can narrow the likely position of the unknown person.

Today, much of this narrowing can be done using Othram's GGPS (Genetic Genealogical Positioning System), which evaluates all possible placements across the tree and integrates both genetic data and genealogy. Instead of manually testing one hypothesis at a time, GGPS systematically identifies the most likely location and the most informative person or close relative to test next.
This visualization comes directly from Othram Maps, where genetic and genealogical data are analyzed together in real time.

You can try it yourself at maps.othram.com.
