I certainly will not buy this P.I.'s story about any video until I see it and it is turned ovr and date/time verified by LE. I have a sneaking suspicion in regards to said video. Considering this is the same P.I. who has stated that Caylee was still alive and even had boasted of evidence, also said that that he'd found that everything that Casey had told the A's was true. Hmmmmm scratching my head here, no I don't buy it for one second.

umm hmmm.....They knew I tell ya and it's going to come out.

I don't know if the PI videotaping proves the Anthony's knew ahead of time. It will become more significant if that is the ONLY area he videotaped, but if he videotaped several wooded areas near the Anthony home, then it ceases to be significant. The meter reader frequented the area, and that doesn't mean anything, apparently......(except maybe to poor old LP, who now sees a daisy chain from Lee Anthony to the meter reader)

This is what was reported here on our local news as well. The officer was under investigation followed by a big ole "oops" from LE. They admitted to the mistake and said the officer had cleared the area without doing his job properly due to having been scared off by a large snake.

Do you have a link to support your statement? I am aware of an investigation going on by LE. I know the initial reports to media on WHY there was going to be an investigation stated that the meter reader's call mentioned a DEAD snake and they didn't know if that had anything to do with why nothing was discovered.......but I've never seen the results of the investigation released by LE. I work, and I'm here somewhat sporadically lately, so I could have missed it, and I would appreciate it if you could point me to LE's having closed the investigation.

Update in:
An attorney for George and Cindy Anthony they are considering giving investigators access to information Casey gathered after splitting with Baez in October and working for the Anthonys since that time.

In a phone conversation Tuesday, Casey said he is willing to answer investigators' questions.

So PI is willing to talk & this is from WESH for those who don't believe WFTV's reports! I will believe when it happens if the A's give access to the info they have on KC.....I think I will faint if they do give the info to LE....

You are probably right Bev...and I have changed my mind on this one. It isn't necessarily that something was said by Casey that directed the guy to the site. He just wants to protect all information that this PI may have learned while he was working for the defense. I don't think we can rightfully jump to any conclusions at this point. JB is protecting his client...even if we don't like it.

I don't understand how we have come to this in the US.IMO Defending a client should be protecting the rights of the defendent according to the constitution. If the eveidence clearly proves the guilt, the defense then tries to show extenuating circumstances for leniency.Criminal defense seems to have lost common sense as part of the process. Taking up the courts time with "emergency motions" and casting doubt by making insinuating comments about innocent people is immoral. It's stooping to the level of criminals.
It's become a game.
I know there are good, decent lawyers, who defend crimanals.God Bless Them because it's a tough job. It's the ones who will do anything to get their client off that kill me.They don't care about justice. They want to win the game because they can.
ETA: I realise not everyone that needs a defense lawyer is a criminal. My bad

More than a few prosecutors knowingly put innocent people in prison, including death row.

Who do you think wears the white hat in the courtroom?

I am constantly amazed at the way media choose to write things. The "they" in question refers to Baez's request to sit in with the PI's interview with LE. For whatever reason, the writer of this article split Padilla's comment. It makes for confusing reading and I wonder where the editor with the red pen was that let this go through in this way. It is just cruddy reporting.

But if you read these few paragraphs/sentences and put the first comment down with the rest of Padilla's comments, it makes sense.

(Original organization)
"They know the existence of the tape and want to look at all evidence that's available," Padilla said.

Investigators also want to talk to the Anthonys' private investigator who works with Hoover, Dominic Casey. The defense wants to intervene, because Dominic Casey used to work for the defense and attorney Jose Baez doesn't want him to divulge privileged information.Baez said investigators won't let him sit in on the questioning, so he's asking the judge to appoint a special master to protect defense secrets if the private eye agrees to talk.

"Investigators have tried to make arrangements with Mr. Casey to speak to him and he's not responded," Padilla said.

(Fixed organization)

I agree with you in part that WFTV shouldn't be the primary source of information if this is the way they're gonna go about it, but it isn't necessarily a conspiracy on their part to frame everyone, and more than likely due to their desire to have the jump on everyone else reporting on this case and allowing shoddy work through before thoroughly editing it for content.

Sure, it sounds so simple when you say it :) Thanks, it makes more sense now.

Baez is worried that questioning Casey would delve into privleged information that Casey has about Casey!!:woohoo::woohoo: How Good Can This Get??

Ii find it interesting that theses two breaking stories came out around the same time
Lee might be charge
Pi taped in november where Caylee was found.?????

  • #671
The PI was no longer under any contract with Baez as of Oct 1. This alleged video was made several weeks into November and he was in the employ of the Anthony's at THAT point. So his video should not be covered by work-product, UNLESS Baez is the one who let it slip in front of him that was the location of the body and if THAT is the case, well, that is another whole new can of worms...

I can't see how jose would have any right to say that this video that was made after the PI's contract expired would be protected, that doesn't make any sense to me.

In all honesty to me the fact that this guy video taped that area as an employee of the anthony's is extremely important because it would appear that he was acting as their agent and had been directed there by them. Which leads me to believe that not only did jose know that Caylee's body was there but so did the anthony's and I'm no lawyer but I don't think the anthony's can claim privilege as a reason for not divulging that Caylee's dead body was there.

Who do you think wears the white hat in the courtroom?

I have been a Barry Scheck and his innocence project fan for years. I agree that the state SHOULD prove their case. I think Leslie Abramson is brilliant. Joe Tacopino made Melanie M. seem sorta pitiful (despite cutting up her husband and stuffing him in suitcases).

But, Casey has more than an adequate defense.

I think she will need it. The Zanny kidnapping story has to be the worst explanation for a murdered child...EVER. The meter reader dramatics, like "not being at the autopsy" is posturing and an attempt to distract from the stinky car and lying "accused".

The white hat belongs to the no-nonsense judge I am praying this case gets.

IMO

If Mr. PI man was working on behalf of the A's when this video was taped in November, and the A's turn this information over to LE, does JB have a legal right to have the judge appoint someone to oversee LE's questioning of Mr. PI man, since Mr. PI man was working on behalf of the A's and not Baez?

  • #674
The meter man lawyered up to protect himself. He was smart to do that.

But the question there is: to protect himself from what?

From JB trying to insinuate that because:
Kronk found the body = he's the killer

I have wondered if he is a county employee and therefore inelligible for the reward then why would he have even bothered with calling the Crime Stoppers tip line since the only POSSIBLE motivation for calling THAT line as opposed to LE would BE the reward?

Kronk was redirected to 911 and someone there told him to call the tip line. He didn't want to.

Does anyone know in exactly what area the PI did the video? I don't understand how he can say that her body wasn't there. It was very hard to see in the brush

His last name had to be Casey, didn't it. Couldn't be Smith or Jones or Padilla, could it. Like this all isn't a nightmare to keep track of anyhow.

SNIP

I don't think the anthony's can claim privilege as a reason for not divulging that Caylee's dead body was there.

If one or more of the Anthonys were the PI's client, they could claim work product privilege. Clients hold the privilege.

  • #677
Just a slight correction - its repeatedly reported and its not accurate
and it really bugs me -

KC didnt wait 31 days - she never reported her daughter was missing
Cindy reported it by 911 . KC did speak to the dispatcher to clarify
some details when Cindy insisted she take the phone .
Even Cindy put Caylee last on the list of complaints - first the car theft
then money stolen and then oh yeah my grand daughter is missing
I firmly believe the order of priorities has not and will never change ( possessions, money then loved ones )
Caylee is still really far down on the list .

YOU ARE SO RIGHT :clap:KC did not report Caylee missing, and she didn't want to get on the phone with the 911.

So, if the A's (being the client) turn this info over to LE, it doesn't sound like JB can have the judge appoint someone to oversee LE's questioning of the PI. Is that correct? TYIA

How can that be? If someone other than the accused or their lawyer knows where a dead body is how is that privileged? I just don't get how the anthony's aren't obligated to inform LE about this fact?

So, Wudge where do you think the post should be posted? I don't post half of the things I would like to post cause it be OT and someone would be rude rather than nice said "please post under another Thread". SORRY I am OT.

tfrohning aweee it's okay now and then to verb OT. It most certainly will not kill anyone. I always just put a wee warning at the top of my post that it's gonna be off topic. Then they are forewarned. (I usually look for a thread on said topic also.)

Anyways don't take it too seriously! I agree with the OT post you put up and enjoys your posts! :)
