If I'm reading the map correctly, there was a possible sighting of the 14 year old in the area where the search was for the 5 year old. Also not sure but she went missing from that same area? Amberdawn posted it. ty

I agree Bessie, it could be like that case especially after it was reported the little girl said there were other children where she was kept.

I'm going to appear to be making a sweeping generalization here, so please forgive me.
Several of the cognitively disabled people I've known, would put others before themselves.

It's a bit like the child heroes at Sandy Hook.
They are just old enough to understand empathy and danger... but not quite old enough to be scared and run away.
So instead they protect others, leading them out of danger, pushing them out of the way, etc.

It may not make any sense... but I've seen it.
I've seen those with cognitive disabilities put themselves in danger to get someone else out of danger.

It certainly wouldn't surprise me if it was a cognitively disabled teen who help N escape. It wouldn't surprise me at all. :twocents:

The possible sighting on Larchwood was of the 5 year-old and the abductor. A poster heard it on the local news, but I can't find it anywhere online.

The 14 year-old's house is where the pink balloon is shown at 60th St, about 6-8 blocks from the Larchwood sighting. She was last seen at her school a few blocks further north at the other pink balloon. None of the reports say if she left school on foot, but I would think so since it's so close to her home. At any rate, it's all in the same general vicinity, and today LE released an alert declaring the Chelsea "endangered".

While searching for information, I came across this factoid. In no way do I mean to insinuate it's directly related to the 5 year-old's abduction. Just thought it was interesting to note since it appears the two cases share some similarities, e.g., victims held against their will, and allegations made against a public entity. If this has been mentioned already, then forgive the repeat. I might've missed it in the other thread.

When the "house of horrors" case broke in the Tacony neighborhood of Philadelphia back in 2011, other victims turned up in different locations. Among them was a niece of one of the suspects, Linda Ann Weston. Attorney Thomas Kline, who now represents the 5 year-old and her mother, also represents the niece in a civil suit against the city of Philadelphia.

Since a teenager is believed to have helped the 5 year-old escape, leaving the impression that she herself is a victim, one can't help but wonder if we're talking about a similar situation.

Wow. This Linda Weston was given custody of her niece after a murder conviction - after being released from serving a sentence of only eight years? She kept the man locked up and beat him. He starved to death. She should still be locked up, IMO. And I won't even comment on no one realizing she was a convicted murderer when given custody.

I'm not sure the two cases are related. I think the teen fits the profile of these folks but not N****.

I agree, but I don't know if a person with autism would have that kind of 'wherewithall' and know to tell her to call the police, etc. It depends on how severe the autism is, of course, but I work with children who have autism and I can't think of one who could have done what this teen did. There is a possibility, but IMO I don't think the missing teen is the one who left N**** at the playground.

I think the other missing girl, Chelsea is probably not related but I can't say for sure she isn't. Stranger things have happened. The odds say Chelsea being missing is coincidental to N's abduction, but who knows.

If it was Chelsea, then why didn't she run/escape too? Just where was Chelsea when she disappeared 2 years ago?

I think the green eyes is unusual too. Not because green eyes are so unusual in AA, I've met several with naturally green eyes. But given that the abductor was fully covered, the eyes would, I think, become even more noticeable. So if I am a green eyed AA woman about to kidnap a child so boldy, I might show up at the school wearing brown contacts, particularly if I am trying to pass for a woman who has brown eyes.

hmm. As much thought as it appears went into the abduction I would have thought the abductor would not want distinctively different eyes since that is all that was visible and identifiable on her.

Not sure if I think contacts were used or natural eye color. Just find this aspect puzzling.

What better disguise or false lead for LE if she normally had brown eyes and the ONLY visible part are the green eyes?

I followed this case when it first broke for a while. Woman was just wicked with no soul. IMO I wonder what the living condiions were in house? NR was kept in?

I've been wondering what the uncle's girlfriend looks like, for instance does she have green eyes, and is she pregnant by any chance? I don't think she's the one who did it, but I've been wondering if they wanted it to appear that way. N did say at one point that at first she thought it was her aunt. I'm curious to know if it was just because of the name she used or if there was something about the woman that was similar to her. :waitasec:

The kidnapper was wearing gloves. Identity of voices? There is no voice on the video. Height? There are millions of people with that same height. It'd be very unlikely anyone could recognize a kidnapper from the video-and since there have been no arrests, it certainly appears that no one had.

For one we don't know if we have seen the whole video nor do we know if other cameras in the neighborhood hadn't picked up the path they took.

Why do I keep thinking due to the 14 year old missing that this could be a home with a hidden blast from the past shelter? Obviously they have searched the homes in that area. I know in Isabel Celis' case the house behind theirs had a bomb shelter. Who would have thunk it? We had a neighbor who told us they had a music room underground years ago. DH and others went to see it, I didn't but it was underground. Posters on Isabel's thread accessed county property records to find that out, plus the owners names. It started out to just figure out why the families house was mortgaged so high and the house was mislisted on many sites, including the local county site. It was listed as a two story (it's a one story) with at least 1000 sqare feet more than it was. Taxes came to mind. Not that they had a bunker or shelter. The bomb shelter came up on a search. Go figure...My grandfather bought a home years ago when I was young. He had several properties. This was a cabin home in OH. Had a bomb shelter...

It's a wild theory I'm throwing out. I just can't figure why the jerks can't be found by now. I wish them all the luck in solving who harmed this little one and the 14 year old if she is connected. Whichever, I hope she is found too.

Or they have already moved on. I hope not but it's entirely possible.

Is that a common thing with homes? Or would that be apartments to connect in the basement? We don't have basements too much out here. Rare & an oddity. That would probably worry me a bit.

I'm sure they'd be separate. I've lived in a lot of houses over the years, and never been in one with a basement that connected to someone else's. MOO
