(2) Must have resided in the State as a full-time student at a school, college or university for one full semester, trimester or summer session immediately prior to the state pageant, and still enrolled as a full-time student at a school, college or university and will continue to reside in the state (although they may spend the summer in another state). or

(3)
Must retain full-time employment in the State (i.e., I work at least forty (40) hours per week in the State, and I qualify for employment benefits provided by my employer) and have maintained such full-time employment for a period of at least ninety (90) days prior to the date
Must be a full time student or just completed a semester and still be enrolled as a full time student and have worked full time for 9o days before the pageant. They dont ask for much?? 😉
I post these requirements for two reasons:

1) I wonder if perhaps she took the not-prestigious (but extremely important!) job in the assisted living facility simply as a way to fulfill the third requirement. She claims on her LinkedIn to have graduated from college in 2023, but was in the 2025 Miss USA Pennsylvania competition, so she would not have met the second criteria as it states delegates must have held/were going to hold full-time student status up to and after the state competition.
Makes sense to me, and the type of job could serve her well in the pageant world, too. Humanitarian type jobs.

So....homicide. :(

Sorry to hear this, but it does mean they have some info that we don't know about. The case isn't turned over to homicide unless there is evidence of a homicide.

What the heck happened?!

Reminds me of Dacara Thompson if anyone else is following that sad case. At least there was camera footage there to assist the investigation though.
IMO

I was thinking about the camera footage tonight .. initially in this thread there were locals who described the area of Kada’s workplace as a very nice neighborhood likely to have many homes with doorbell cameras or other surveillance/security footage. LE had also requested this from the public initially, especially from those in the immediate area around the facility. I don’t believe we’ve heard anything more about requesting cameras or video footage (aside from the frequently referenced fact that the AL facility did not have any outdoor cams), so I wonder if LE did receive some kind of video/picture footage from the neighborhood, that either led them to their search sites or supported some kind of digital data from Kada’s devices.

Action News has learned police searched a home last Thursday night on the 5500 block of Belmar Terrace in Southwest Philadelphia.

The next day, police were out in force searching the Awbury Arboretumin Germantown, which is about three miles from where Scott was last seen.

The three main locations:

The police searched 5500 block of Belmar Terrace in Philadelpia on Thursday night- a day before the big Awbry Arboretum search. Source after the Google Streetview link.

It looks like the most recent coverage on Google Street View is from June 2025—it shows the side 5500 Belmar Ter facing 55th. Though the property of interest might elsewhere on the block.

The alley ways around the back where people access their garages gives me bad vibes.

I have family that are near that area that we visit. It is safe, nice, much safer than say North East Philadelphia (no shade I love northeast the best) but it’s not devoid of crime. I would be very surprised if many of the neighbors in that area don’t have cameras. Small/petty crime is fairly common and cameras and lights reduce that.

All JMO-- Possibilities/ideas: If an abductor is involved, that is likely someone who met her very, very casually; she viewed him as pretty insignificant & may have seen what appeared to be troubling signs in his behavior; she didn't take him or any exchanges with him all that seriously; he knew it, really resented it, knows she's a beauty queen with a bright future ahead of her and he's got some issues, so he was stalking her and jumped at the chance when he saw her come outside the building. For what did she come out, who knows? Forgot something she needed in the car, maybe her lunch if she packed one, wanted to do a "fridge cigarette" (ice cold diet coke break), or/and just needed a bit of fresh air, what have you.

And she is a beauty queen, she's definitely noticed by passers-by. This being the case, might worry about visitors to the facility, and from what i can see, visitation at this facility is NOT restricted, it's listed as open 24 hours (??with no cameras, not sure if this is correct, but that's what I got when I searched). Maybe the hours just aren't started explicitly anywhere online, though. But if visitors can still access, and some visitor or co-worker became fixated on her, somehow got her number, she may not want to make a fuss over it because she has only recently started the job, and she perhaps really wants or needs to keep it and not make waves over what she would view as close to nothing.

And again because she is so noticeable, it's also possible it was fairly random, although far less likely, again all jmo.

The most optimistic scenario here is that she took off, perhaps with someone or with help from someone she knows & is doing just fine somewhere, those pageants are a lot of pressure, to my knowledge, and maybe she just felt she'd had enough and needed a break. It's the beginning of shift, so if she's not enthusiastic about the position, and she's in any way stressed over the pageants, and/or has this unpleasantness to deal with with the phone calls, maybe she took off. As unlikely as it might be, i'd actually hope for this scenario at this point (particularly if they're searching the arboretum) because there's room for a happy ending there. Understood the taking off scenario may not be something anyone would normally "want," but if they're calling in homicide, I really and truly hope it (the taking off) is the case, in the biggest way possible.

As far as calling in homicide goes, I will continue to hope for the best and think the best is still quite possible. But just noting, I know LE's focusing on the arboretum, but what I'd fear far more is Wissahickson Valley Park (14 mins from arboretum), to my knowledge, there have been remains found in/near there in the past. Again, I continue to strongly and optimistically hope not.

From the above posted article - “Action News has learned police searched a home last Thursday night on the 5500 block of Belmar Terrace in Southwest Philadelphia … There was no word on whether anything related to the investigation was found.”

Unlike Chestnut Hill, that's a sketchy area.

Now that we know the harassment was through text messaging I'm hopeful that whoever was behind those texts was stupid enough to leave some clues about their identity even though they were able to cloak their personal phone number. It sounds like LE know who this person may be and that sadly, with the grid search following the sweep of the house it may not be the ending everyone is hoping for. Would love to be wrong.

I started out hopeful on this case, but changed my mind when LE said she left involuntarily. They wouldn't say that if they didn't have evidence, and they wouldn't turn it over to homicide detectives if it wasn't a homicide. imo

Now we hope to find the body and catch the criminal.

LE is tight-lipped on this case, and I'm interpreting that as a good thing. They don't need the public's input because they have solid leads to follow, imo.

Unlike Chestnut Hill, that's a sketchy area.
It's where my mom's family had a home and a bar.
It saddens me to Google Earth it now.
This area is close to Cobbs Creek and Mount Moriah Cemetery.
Lots of hidey holes.

I've wondered if LE found broken off fingernails.
Kada seems like a manicured person.

In an interview with the Daily Mail UK (paywalled), her mother mentioned that she’s worried because she’s been getting conflicting information about her daughter’s work schedule and what actually happened that night. She said the times she was given for when her daughter supposedly left work kept changing, and there’s confusion about whether she left alone or with a coworker.

How could they not know?! And I wonder when the anonymous text messages started. Was it when she started this job ? I didn’t even know something like TextNow existed

Family members aren't always told details by LE during an investigation, fwiw.

I understand, but LE very likely knows when Kada left work. They don't always share that info with family. The family might be hearing different times from different people but that doesn't necessarily mean LE isn't sure of the info.

Before the missing person report was filed. They told her she worked her whole shift. Then it was that she left at 1045. Then it was she left at 1015. They also told the mother they think she left with another co worker. It’s not like they told her they couldn’t give her any information. Instead they gave multiple stories. I’m just saying it goes to show the job is completely unorganized, can’t account for its employees, and has many inconsistencies. Sometimes that can go back to the process of hiring and who they hire. If they don’t do their due diligence in one area, they may not necessarily do it in another.
