I think if anything she may have thought of it as playful banter.

oh Gawd though, the retrospect on this is so tragic.
you cannot always steal an impressive car, IMO- you need to take what is available and avoid cameras, alarms, etc. esp if you are just reacting to opportunities. : (this rings true for me. it strikes me as sexual, but also possibly like they were misunderstanding each other in some respect. (and i don't just mean the obvious point that he'd apparently already planned to murder her, and yet it's safe to say she did not plan to be murdered.) i mean possibly just about what each other were saying.
also, his "better be up for [it]" sounds like she said changed her mind and said no to something in the past and it frustrated him. and we can speculate that happened again, and the murder was his reaction. but then, how does the apparent premeditation fit with that?
i entertained the idea that the original purpose of stealing the car was to impress her, and then the rest of the theory would fit. but frankly, it was a 2008, which i'm guessing has seen better days. not the car i'd steal to impress a girl.
maybe he did not want her to go on dates or see her friends or or or....we'll need to know how she met him and how long she knew him if her phone records show that. maybe she broke away from him or maybe he had charmed her before. he had bail $ so maybe he bought her something and thought she was his. IMO.As always, keep in mind that the text exchange with "kidnap me again" didn't necessarily take place on October 4. It is possible she had a couple of nice outings with Keon King, then she decided he wasn't for her and that is when he started harassing her. Or maybe someone, whoever was "harrassing" her, was trying to tell her how bad King was or not to leave or a multitude of other things. (I can't believe you are calling me about this).
I am trying to find some way I might get into a car if I had just talked to the someone in the car and told them "I can't believe you are calling me about this". I'm having a hard time with it.
That's what I'm thinking right now (unless we learn differently). I'm thinking of it sort of like, "Save me!" when you don't really mean you want/need saving, but just are joking around about wishing you could leave a situation (like boring work shift, family gathering, etc.).100%

So I get the text message exchange with Keon. But the phone call which was overheard. Was that with someone else, maybe the person who was harassing her?Kada Scott and Keon King's text messages revealed in court docs | FOX 29 Philadelphia
From the article:
Surveillance footage from Oct. 5 shows two people removing a heavy object, consistent with a human body, from the car to a shallow grave behind the vacant school.
Surveillance footage also indicates a third person might have been involved, as a gold Toyota Camry was seen leaving the scene.
A third person

I’m confused.
Thank you for clarifying that.Another article explains that the last phone call between them is right around the time she walks towards the dark car and a coworker overhears her saying that. So my best guess is that she said that to him while walking to the car to meet him.
I used to ask my best friend to come kidnap me from campus when I was over classes in college. I think it only takes on a weird tone because of what happened - I read it like you do.That's what I'm thinking right now (unless we learn differently). And he took the opportunity to prey on her.

No problem!Thank you for clarifying that.
I wonder if at some point prior he had ever said something in a joking way about kidnapping her and she was responding in kind with her text. Like she thought it was a cutesy inside joke between them. Just horrible in retrospect, us knowing what she did not at the time.100%
