No. Nothing came out about that as we have all been speculating how and when her car was dropped off. Perhaps LE know more...

It could be an important piece to this puzzle!

Dont you find it odd there were not alot of searches and the ones they did have were very restricted by LE.

We have a very pretty young lady that was very argumentative. And was getting in a tad of trouble the days prior to her vanishing! As they say when a person goes missing look into the days before they went missing.

Not sure I'm reading court docket correctly, but it appears to me that AL negotiated a guilty plea on 7/24 and then guilty plea withdrawn in September 2012 and now going to court. I would love to know the name of the girl who LE claim AL held witness to the action hostage?? And how often does a guilty plea get withdrawn?? I hope one of the seasoned sleuths can read court docs and confirm or correct what I stated above...Thanks

I would think LE would want to release information/records from the calls regarding KS that evening/early morning. TL was named the responding officer for the first 2 calls. His 18 yr old son AL lives walking distance from KS apt and has been charged with among other things shooting pellets at passing drivers and then holding a witness to the action hostage, according to the local news and public court documents. One of the individuals charged that evening is an ex police chief son. Seriously, this could be on a daytime talk show!! For all who said they don't believe LE could have any involvement I say how could you rule it out!! If all was handled correctly, would be best to just release the information!! Then all could concentrate on the other possiblities in this case!! I think of KS everyday and wish that somehow she is found alive and well.

Yes you are reading that correctly. In the case of minors .. I am sure guilty pleas get retracted quite often .. why not roll the dice with a jury trial ... especially if your dad is a cop and representing you. I see they have moved the trial to March now.

Do we have any sort of knowledge that he knew either Kortne or her boyfriend? FWIW .. I could find no reference to him, name or otherwise, on Kortne's facebook posts. IMO it would be awful coincidental if he were involved in her disappearance and his dad was the responding officer .. but then again .. I guess stranger things have happened.

"If all was handled correctly"....makes you wonder what things were not handled correctly? One police man from the drug task force resigned in April under suspicion, then on 10/2 another one was fired for violating dept. policy. Sorry don't have the link, wrote down this info on a sticky tab.

^^^the one from October

Harner is the second officer this year to leave his job with the Lebanon police under a cloud of suspicion.

In April, Detective Adam Saul resigned from the force after he was removed from the Lebanon County Drug Task Force following an investigation by the district attorney's office into unspecified allegations of misconduct.

Thanks for keeping those on a sticky, made it easy to find :) :rocker:

"Lebanon police Detective Adam Saul has been removed from the Lebanon County Drug Task Force and has resigned from the city police force amidst an allegation that he had sex with a woman who worked as a confidential informant for the drug task force, the Lebanon Daily News has learned."

I believe Kortne was an unwilling confidential informant coerced into cooperation with the police. Maybe not the one referenced above, but I believe her role as a forced CI put her in danger and caused her disappearance.

If this was indeed the case could she be in the witness protection program?

  • #753
Would explain the lack of searches by LE.

Was the officer removed after Kortne's disappeared? I need to check the article. Lots going on with that police department. Is that second officer they won't name an officer that has had issues or pending issues against him? Would make sense why they wouldn't release his name or cause attention to the "visit."

I doubt she is in WP, but it would almost explain her "beamed up" kind of disappearance. But how LE could spirit her away that night, surrounded as it were by housemates, landlords, etc. is tricky. I lean toward Kortne having left her house for some reason and running into someone she knew and more trouble started. If LE is involved at all, I think it could be in laziness on that second response.

If none of the other circumstances had happened that night, I could believe WP. But I just can't. Please know that I don't begrudge anyone else their theories about WP -- all opinions are welcome, imo -- just saying that (for me) it doesn't work. Too many other things happened that night.

Andy Harner was the one fired on 10/2 for violating dept. policy, but it didn't say what the violation was, wished I had written down the link.

I agree with your opinion, it seemed like the whole day was bad for her, car trouble, boyfriend gets sent to jail, (read that the father stated that K thought he was going to be gone for a long time), argument with a man and his girlfriend, the guy she owes money to is mad at her, she comes home and gets into an argument with the neighbor, (think I also read that she was mad at them because she thought they were the ones who called the cops on her boyfriend), cops end up coming a third time to the house......yeah part of me feels like she felt she needed to get out of there just to shake off the bad day she had. Just hope they figure it out, don't blame the Dad for getting outside help. It can't hurt.

I do not believe an official statement was ever released stating what he actually did. Just that he violated policy. Guess that could be anything from "drinking on the job" or maybe "being late for work"......Wish I could be more help but I'm sure you will remember it soon:)
