We still do not know how her car got back to her apartment. TO BAD LE won't answer that question!

My top suspects are still the downstairs neighbor or the guy who stayed overnight.

Also suspect the policeman who answered the last call.

I'm not aware of any fundraisers, vigils or otherwise since Black Friday the day after Thanksgiving ... which is shortly after the last news interview by her mom and around the time her mother changed her facebook settings ... Has there been any other fundraisers more recently?

FWIW .. Wendy has a recent link to the latest LDN on her facebook page .. she commented Missing my Babygirl :((( ... That can be read in two ways ... I'm missing my babygirl in hopes that Kortne reads it .. OR Missing my babygirl .. in that she is still missing ... Don't mean to mince words .. but really could be taken either way ... AGAIN .. no confirmation of either ... which equals silence as far as I'm concerned.

In my opinion, the most likely explanation for the silence and lack of searches is that LE & the family already have reason to believe that she is no longer living. November 2012 may be the time period when they uncovered new information.

I know that posters here have discussed the Elizabethtown remains. At this point, I think it's almost impossible those belong to KS. Some of the articles mentioned there was a 90% chance that the remains are male, but the NAMUS site simply lists the sex as "male." While it seemed possible that authorities would not publicly reveal all of the info about the remains if a KS-related investigation into them was ongoing, I don't think that they would deliberately mislead the public through the NAMUS site since LE around the country depend upon it.

However, there was another set of unidentified remains found in Luzerne County in November which are identified as female:

https://identifyus.org/en/cases/full_report/10836.

This seems to have gotten less press than the Elizabethtown find, and I am not sure this was discussed here. Can anyone confirm whether posters have already discussed the Luzerne remains? If anyone has read anything about this, or have any thoughts on how this could be connected to KS, I am interested in hearing from you. One of the articles I have found:

http://citizensvoice.com/news/human-skull-discovered-in-newport-twp-1.1405200

This article has the basic details, but beyond this article and the above NAMUS link I haven't been able to find much else. Apparently LE there might be trying to link the remains to a missing woman from that area (also, another woman's remains were found on the other side of river near Newport Township and linked to the same suspect in two Luzerne Cty disapperances), but I don't think that they have made any conclusions on that yet. The dental records online seem to suggest that there were veneers or caps on the upper row of teeth. Not sure if that means anything to anyone.

Most likely unrelated, but if the locally-missing person isn't a match, I'm curious whether LE on KS has explored any connection to KS. I wonder if anyone mentioned in the articles about KS's disappearance has ties to the area where the remains where found. (Alden Mtn. road, surrounded by other items apparently dumped there, Newport Township in Luzerne County, PA). Area looks remote and not terribly close to Palmyra.

Sad to think of how people can remain unidentified for months or years and how families of the missing have to continue on without closure.

The area is not all that remote for Pennsylvania, and actually very close to I-80 and I-81. It would take less than 2 hours to get there from the Palmyra area.

They are checking to see if this skull belongs to Phylicia Thomas, she does have a thread on this site if you are interested in reading more, if you read her case it will remind you of Kortne's. Alden mountain is no where near Palmyra though.

I also believe that something may have happened in late November to change the families behavior. However, I am not thinking those remains in Luzerne County PA are that of KS.

For one thing, I noticed when looking at NamUs that those remains have already been compared to Danielle Imbo who went missing in 2005. Just knowing that, makes me think that the remains are older, and not that of someone who would have went missing approximately 6 months ago.

I could be wrong and granted the remains are sparse but also with the information that investigators are currently trying to determine if the remains are that of Phylicia Thomas who went missing in 2004, I am fairly certain that the remains are older.

In addition an article was posted on January 7th, 2013 about the remains found in Elizabethtown that provides more clarification about the decedent. Those remains are not that of KS.

http://www.pennlive.com/midstate/index.ssf/2013/01/skeleton_remains_body_unidenti.html

snipped "But today they disclosed a vivid detail: He had a significant arthritic condition that surely impacted how he walked -- so such that anyone who knew him must have noticed.

"This is a significant condition that would actually cause the person to walk bent over, or stooped over
," said Det. Kenneth Henry of Northwest Lancaster County Regional Police.

That physical detail recently became clear during forensic review of the skeletal remains found by a hunter Nov. 2 on the grounds of Masonic Villages at Elizabethtown.

Authorities also learned he is white, at least 45 years old, and between 5 feet 7 and 5 feet 11 inches tall, Henry said."

My aplogies if this posts twice. My browser keeps logging me out

I've been away because of what I perceive as apathy regarding this case. Universal apathy, it seems.

I had Kortne's ribbon on my Christmas tree and I think about her every day.

But if no one's talking and very, very few people are interested, I'm not sure what to do anymore.

I don't understand why it seems that very few people care that Kortne is just gone. She's gone. For six months.

Why do I feel like one of the few locals who's still paying attention? And most of us are on WS. Where is everyone else?

I feel like I'm missing a big secret that everyone else knows and there's literally nothing I can do about it.

Arnold has "eliminated some possibilities"....whoop-te-frickin-doo.

I call ßµ||šh¡†

My exact sentiments. This is so incredibly sad - don't know what's worse, the apathy or the fact Kortne is still missing. I just cannot understand.

I truly felt that she had upcoming court dates and maybe split. I know that sounds horrible to write but there were rumblings about it. She was due in court for something. I forgot what and don't have a link; maybe someone has the info here already. But after I learned that she had actual court to show up for; I seriously began to wonder if she did in fact take off. I know the circumstances are horrible; it must be awful for her family the not knowing and I'm so sorry that the media and others have let her case just slide. I hate to see that in any case.

To my knowledge and per http://ujsportal.pacourts.us/Default.aspx Kortne had no pending charges for anything in Lebanon County or neighboring counties. (That I could find) If she had pending charges (a court date) it would have been quite a way away from where she lives. But .. she may have been (not sure) on probation from a prior a few months earlier and feared it would be revoked due to the underage party at her home earlier that evening.

It was speculated however, that she may have been potentially facing charges stemming from the underage drinking party at her apartment That would be pure speculation at this point however. It was never released who furnished the alcohol to the minors that were charged that night.

Yes, "if" she had an open case it would have been public information. At least, thats how it is in the New York and federal courts.

FACEBOOK ACTIVITY

Just perusing Kourtne's facebook page and there has been recent activity in as far as a new friend has been added. This happened 22 hours ago. Obviously the friend request may have been sitting there for almost 7 months and the person only just accepted it.

My thought process on this is: If you had a friend request from someone who is missing and or in danger, wouldn't it be human instinct to accept it just to see their page...There is obviously the chance that the person who was added as her new friend didn't know about her sitution, but why accept it now...

Thats a ramble I am aware. I hope you can follow my train of thought.

I just wonder if she accepted this person.....or if this person just accepted her friend request from over 6 months ago. I really really want to ask the question of this person but I won't!!!

My line of thinking is that he is in the AmeriCorps so perhaps he was on "active" duty/missionary work out of the country or some type of area within the states and didn't have, or had limited, internet access??? Perhaps he had only learned of her missing or could only check his facebook recently. He has recently added a few new friends.

Is it possible to miss a friend request if you rarely check your homepage? Or if you access FB mostly from a mobile device? I'm showing my age - I am clueless about FB!

Thanks for continuing to think about Kortne, Abstar!

Good point! I think I just got excited when I noticed activity on her page. I went back and had a look and you are probably right!

For some reason this case has really stuck with me. I check in on her frequently in the hope that something pops up.

It has just been pointed out that the individual who has just becomes friends with her has recently added quite a few people and he may have been away for his work for an extended period of time without access to fb.

I guess it is possible to miss a friend request. I am guilty of leaving people hanging!! It comes up with a notification in the first instance but once you have looked at it it sits in a list which you can still see its waiting there but you have to specifically go in and look at the list. Does that make sense!!

I think I just got excited when I noticed recent activity!

I hate to say this but I have been browsing missing persons websites and it seems like most of the time the persons remains have been located in another state. I can't imagine she left on her own, and I can't imagine that she is safe. I have a feeling this case will go cold.
