People being detained and "exported" by ICE #2

Only those here illegally, commit crime or fraud need to fear Iceman. Moo
Even just from other posters on this thread (and the first one), there are US citizens with brown skin saying how unsafe and worried they feel constantly because of ICE and this administrations policies. So to dismiss it and say that only illegal immigrants or people who commit crimes should be afraid is very glib IMO. That’s a very privileged statement.

Uninformed as to current situations happening and filmed, Americans, born and bred even.

This is from the memo from the DOJ today. This is so ridiculously crazy to me. MOO.

"The memo even includes a controversial guide — the Alien Enemy Validation Guide — which assigns points for gang affiliation using vague, easily manipulated factors: graffiti, clothing, tattoos, even phone calls."

"Since the memo was issued, CBS News reports the Trump administration has signed 456 agreements with local police departments, letting them act as immigration officers — turning traffic stops and routine patrols into immigration raids."

"And the biggest legal question remains unresolved: Can the Alien Enemies Act — written during the John Adams presidency — really give Trump the power to toss out immigrants without a judge or a hearing?

So far, the courts don’t seem to think so."

President Trump followed the exact procedure President Roosevelt followed in 1941, BEFORE the US declared war on Japan. The military immediately detained Japanese citizens, they were held for years in detainment facilities, without any type of trial.

...
RSBM,

What is your source for the above?

IMO, the dates are off and this happened AFTER Pearl Harbour. Japan; not a cartel, not a gang. A country. Facts matter.

My source: (text below is not my bold - it's the source):

During World War II, immediately after the December 7, 1941 attack on Pearl Harbor, President Franklin Roosevelt invoked the Alien Enemies Act to authorize the government to detain enemy aliens and confiscate enemy property. Within hours of the attack, federal and local law enforcement began arresting Japanese immigrants as “enemy aliens” and suspected saboteurs — before an actual declaration of war, and largely without warrants or formal charges.

And we should be criticizing him for that, not supporting his right to do it.

The United States code, laws, statues inacted by Congress, empowered the president to declare National enemies. President Trump listed each US codes in the declaration. He also listed reasons, and documentation proving a connection of this cartel to the Venezuelan administration. The code was posted and a link on the previous thread.

It's not a stretch to declare cartels terrorist or a foreign enemy. Even their own government won't take them back, no one will take them back, except El Salvador.

Moo...

One more time for the people in the back. Nine judges on the nation's highest court ruled that they are required to have due process.

What happened 80 years ago is irrelevant. MOO.

"Let me quote from the ruling. “The order properly requires the government to facilitate Abrego Garcia's release from custody in El Salvador.” Are you facilitating a release?

I leave that to my lawyers. I give them no instructions. They feel that the order said something very much different from what you're saying. But I leave that to my lawyers. If they want—and that would be the Attorney General of the United States and the people that represent the country. I don't make that decision.

Have you asked President Bukele to return him?

I haven’t, uh, he said he wouldn’t.

Did you ask him?

But I haven’t asked him positively, but he said he wouldn’t.

But if you haven't asked him, then how are you facilitating his release?

Well, because I haven't been asked to ask him by my attorneys. Nobody asked me to ask him that question, except you."

And that's the sound of him throwing Bondi under the bus. MOO.

ICE would do well to recall that "I was just following orders" is not a legal defense when infringing upon the rights afford by the US Constitution. Civilly or criminally. Likewise other LE, the military etc etc.

Speaking of which, can someone point me to the part of the Constitution that gives POTUS:

- The authority to make law;
- The authority to ignore the law; and
- The authority to break the law?

I can't seem to find it.

The 14th Amendment has already been linked in here regarding the right to due process, along with the linkage to the Supreme Court's long ago determination that the 14th Amendment was applicable to all people within the United States "regardless of citizenship".

What's going to happen when they come to trample other amendment rights? The right to Free Speach. The right to bear arms etc etc? People that support the 14th Amendement being denied as per the law to others are setting the precednt for their own rights to be - to use a Musk saying: "deleted".

What you going to do wen they come for you?

In other news, Trump's MAGA Store is now carrying "TRUMP 2028" ballhats and other gear in stock.

The downward slide to dictatorship continues.

IMO.

I have faith that will be thrown out in no time. You can't just change the laws on the books as an AG. That's ridiculously corrupt.

MOO.

As if police need more reasons to destroy their relationship with the communities they serve.

MOO.

And those with tattoos**
I swear all these white guys with their many and some cool tattoos are just fine and there are soooo many. Half of them are just symbols, but no matter, no need to know if they are 'gang' related or not. They're safffffffffffffe and they know it. Somone NOT white with one tattoo, not so safe.

Just now…

New Orleans, LA - Today, in the early hours of the morning, the New Orleans Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Field Office deported at least two families, including two mothers and their minor children – three of whom are U.S. citizen children aged 2, 4, and 7. One of the mothers is currently pregnant. The families, who had lived in the United States for years and had deep ties to their communities, were deported from the U.S. under deeply troubling circumstances that raise serious due process concerns.
<snip>
In the case of the other family, a U.S. citizen child suffering from a rare form of metastatic cancer was deported without medication or the ability to consult with their treating physicians–despite ICE being notified in advance of the child’s urgent medical needs. In addition, one of the mothers who was deported is pregnant, and ICE proceeded with her deportation without ensuring any continuity of prenatal care or medical oversight.

Terrible.

"In one instance, a mother was granted less than one minute on the phone before the call was abruptly terminated when her spouse tried to provide legal counsel’s phone number."

They were denied legal counsel, and then quickly deported while everything was closed down. Such purposeful attacks.

Regarding the Wisconsin judge arrested and charged with two felonies…

Trump’s moves against Judge Dugan are not isolated incidents. They reflect a broader authoritarian strategy that mirrors how Putin dismantled Russia’s short-lived experiment with judicial independence. After consolidating power, Putin systematically brought the courts under Kremlin control. Judges who issued rulings unfavorable to the regime were reassigned, disciplined, or removed altogether. In politically sensitive cases—particularly those involving opposition figures, journalists, foreign hostages taken by the regime, or activists—judges are expected to rule in favor of the state.
<snip>
Trump has made clear that no institution is safe, no law is sacred, and no opponent will be spared. Whether it’s ICE agents inside courtrooms, DOJ investigations into political platforms or opponents, or extortion of law firms and attempted takeover of universities, the strategy is the same — consolidate power, silence dissent, and erase the guardrails of democracy.
