(snipped excerpt)
...When someone dies, metabolism shuts off, and if it were in her system, labs should be good about finding it, if death is only a short (how many hours after ingestion I can't be sure of, but I think there would be at least traces for a full day or so) after alleged ingestion of it.

I was impressed by the above link yesterday....the bad news is ... that sometimes date rape drugs are not detected post mortem.

Well, newone, I went to the link you were kind enogh to leave, and it said this:

"The drugs leave your system quickly. Rohypnol stays in the body for several hours, and can be detected in the urine up to 72 hours after taking it. GHB leaves the body in 12 hours."

And again I think it was only a few hours that they were together. And the above implicitly relates to a living person metabolizing it. If killed a few hours after ingesting it, I think it should reamin and show up.

Can I ask what is the "land of most amazing sunsets"?

Phoenix or Tucson?

I loved Sedona.

From what I could glean it was 50/50 -- sometimes it doesn't show up especially if alcohol was consumed -(and SF had wine)- I hope that there is someone on the board with medical background that shed some light on this.

Question: What was the name of Joran's first real girlfriend? Her parents did not want them dating as she was 12 or 13 and Joran was 16 or 17. They had a huge birthday party for her and all the p.i.m.p.s were there. She was a petite, blonde.....
Sasha is the girl who had the formal party w/ photos of all of the PIMPs in attendance. pretty sure it was a quinceanera (sorry, I can't do a tilde above the 'n'), celebrating her 15th b-day. my best recollection is that she is a younger half-sister of JvdS' best friend back then (Freddy)

I'm curious about what the second reviewer had to say. I can't read Spanish so I can only guess that he wont be back either.
Este hotel no tiene grata atencion al cliente por consiguiente lo hacen un lugar al que uno no quiera volver a hospedarse a pesar de la buena ubicacion y la relativa comodidad que tenga =

this hotel doesn't have good customer service so it's not a place one wants to return to for a stay despite the good location and the relative comfort/coziness

I understood from videos (her pappa) that she was found late night of 2nd June (she was killed early on the 30th of May, that's pretty close to 4 full days to 2359 hrs on the 2nd)

I thought it was 3 days.

Love your moniker, and your avatar is it called? Oil spill. Of course, I don't believe it was an accident, but that's a whole 'nother realm.

The long delay in getting to the body clouds things, as her brother said she was barely recognizable (or words to that effect), and some of that was likely from the blow to her face, but some is from decomposition.

Her funeral was held 4 June --

Now that there are few here, something I wanted to say. But fear that again it will be misconstrued.

And that is the issue of all the interviews Stephany's family has given to American TV. Does anyone here kick it up to a higher level?

Why even do these interviews at this time, and especially for sensationalist TV of the USA.

If it were me, especially to a foreign country, I'd say, "can't you see we are grieving, get the ---- out of here."

There was someone here last week, "Unreals", who said there was much conspiratorial stuff in regards to JVDS and both murders. I didn't join until 2 days ago. And he had a particular slant that may itself been "off" and that I may not have agreed with. I think he thought he was totally innocent, and was set up, and I think he did both crimes, and was protected by a larger conspiracy.

But anyway, what attracted me to this case, is that I think there is much beneath the surface here. And all those interviews from an ultra-calm, yet shocked and grieving Latin family to foreign TV shows, to me is "off."

Grief is an amazing altered state and it affects each of us differently. I can attest to the fact that sometimes a person may appear totally detached very calm because to them it is sooooo surreal. Weeks later when the adrenaline wears off the person may have different responses to same questions. In the case of the Flores family the father has a need to talk about this (again very typical of those of us who have lost someone near and dear). As long a person can talk about their loved one it is a catharsis. Given the huge publicity of this case, I believe Mr. Flores is handling the situation very well (and of course there is so much public support).

While he has the shock working for him I believe he is capable of maintaining composure -- but sad to say I think in the near future you won't hear much from the Flores family as they will demand their privacy.

Thanks Newone. But respectfully, I think your reply totally begs the issues I brought up. If you said talking with caring friends and family, I can see that, but to bring in foreign TV and a foreign language, and sensationalist shows etc. I am sorry, I think the overwhelming number of say Peruvians who shockingly just lost a young daughter would tell them to get lost. I can possibly see Peruvian TV, and again I am sorry to say, remember he ran for V-P, but maybe I am answering my own question now...

So I'll stop.

I just saw your addition. And I think just the opposite. You will see him running again for office, or the son or something in the future.

Talking about how tall Joran is. WTH! My son is 6'5 and 290!!!

O/T

Just getting caught up, and I have to say something.

Why did only one member of WS have the courage to tell PattyG what a gorgeous son she has! She went through all of the trouble to put the photo up for us to see.

PattyG, your son looks like a male "super model" or a movie star. Thank you for sharing. Dog is a very good looking dog too! What a lovely family you have. I am certain you are very proud! :)

Political do see this an opp -- and that is quite possible -- as they say '' bad publicity is still publicity and there is no bad publicity in showbiz'' (he is in that field for sure -- so you may well be onto something there)

He's been the spokesperson (the father) - SF's mom and others are in the background aren't they?

Glad you see that. It's not really bad publicity, it's a bad thing that happened, but it gets the whole country to care for themwhichis good publicity.

But that again brings up the pointlessness of doing American TV. Unless...
