I don't know how anyone could suggest that this man could have even remotely had anything to do with his daughter's death. Clearly, is grief-stricken.

BBM

WHAT? They buried the victim before gathering evidence? I've been curious, and a little worried, about Peru's investigative and forensic procedures. Now I'm really worried. Unbelievable.

Why? He isn't going to be tried here. No fooling stupid jurors with smoke & mirrors.

Sorry if this has been posted but methinks it predicts Joran's future:

"The murder of the Peruvian college student has touched the National Police in a particular way. Ricardo Flores, the young woman’s father, is president of the civic committee that supports the police’s internal affairs division. “He is a great man who has always been loyal to the police. We have no doubts that we will solve this case,” says one officer who has worked with Mr. Flores on events organized to help officers in need."

I'm still catching up on this thread from last night but wanted to respond to this. I would bet almost anything the father will meet and talk with him...and he's prolly been told of such pending meeting. He will face a face like the face he surely showed Step and Natalee. I have no doubt. Mr. Van der Sloot is about to meet the father of a only daughter that was brutally murdered. (He not bad, he's just tall that's all.)

It may not be the most politically correct thing to say here but justice and trials are different in Peru. I believe he will face a trial presided over by three judges, there will be no jury. There will be no wiggle room for Sloot as in SODDI or reasonable doubt. There could barely be a better country for this person to be caught doing a crime nor a better place for him to serve time.

I'd like to see him convicted on evidence. But you're right, maybe they don't fool with that over there.

I couldn't agree more!

I had to watch the National Geographic Documentary again today covering conditions in the Peruvian prison Joran will be spending his time.....Good Gravy that piece really makes me all warm and fuzzy inside. I am practically dancing with glee at Jordan's plight!

If ya think he looks "rough" now...just wait till he goes to trial;)

I disagree with some posts that Joran will not live long enough to stand trail. The international spotlight is on Peru right now and they will make sure , he is not killed in prison. Donning on a bullet proof vest , is not standard procedure for an accused murderer. National Peruvian pride and PR at stake here. I also doubt Joran has to wait 2 years for a trial. His case will be expedited thru the court system IMO. The Peruvians have nifty ways to extract the truth and would also love to solve the Natalee enigma.
Yes, Joran picked the wrong country.

No, we don't have any rules about quick burials or anything like that. Within a week or so is about usual.

Thank you. I was a little surprised when all the funeral arrangements were taken care of and her burial was complete less than 24 hours after the discovery of her body. And now to learn they didn't get what they need to perform DNA tests... well, it's just a little unusual. :waitasec:

I don't know about you, but I've already heard of enough circumstantial evidence to personally feel quite comfortable enough convict him.

DNA is great, but it should never be used as a replacement for good old fashioned COMMON SENSE!

I'm so happy this monster has finally been caught. He needs to be put away forever, and should have been put away forever a long time ago. And just for the record, this guy is horribly unattractive. He looks like a full-fledged alcoholic (red face, bloated) at the age of 22 and for the life of me I can't understand how he got all these girls interested in him. Yuck. Poor Stephany and Natalee, and who knows how many countless other girls this monster has murdered and/or battered over the last five years. May they rest in peace, and their families finally obtain justice.

Burn in he&& Joran.

Closer to actual transfer to Lima - JVDS will be charged with the murder of Stehany.
