Yep, you did, you even went as far to say you are sure it filled her with shame!

Most women I know that have had an abortion are just happy they are getting their life back.
There is no need for regrets.

You guys here are certainly a conservative lot....no abortions, no sex before marriage etc judge judge judge.

Don't lump me into that category, and since you quoted me I have the right to defend myself. I have stated more than once that I don't care about how many men she's been with, how many different fathers/kids, etc.

And JBean said that Amber HERSELF said that she was ashamed of having an abortion. And NO, I did not say all women regretted it, I said MOST; then I clarified that most women I've heard talking about it regretted it.

I think abortion is a personal choice, it's each to their own and certainly not something to be judged by others.
How many times do we hear about unwanted pregnancies? There's a thread on here about an 11 year old girl who'se just had a baby, how many Mum's on here can put their hand on their heart and say abortion wouldn't cross their mind if it was their daughter? :)

It would absolutely cross my mind if my very young daughter wound up pregnant, whether by rape or if she willingly had sex.

I brought up Amber's abortion because I simply didn't know if she'd had one or it was rumor. I can see now that by bringing it up, it seemed as if I was taking issue with it, or holding it against her but that is not, nor has it ever been the case.

Oh I'm sorry shopper, I wasn't attacking you personally. Just thought I'd put my two pennies worth in - or two cents as they say on here!! :D

I can say abortion would never cross my mind as an option. :)

Amber felt shame because it conflicted with her inner beliefs.
Shortly after her abortion, she attended a seminar of Chosen Women..similar to Promise Keepers. She found many women there that also had had abortions and she found a place of forgiveness, that helped her get over her own personal shame. She felt that she had made a mistake, but would be forgiven for it. Those are her words BTW.

Not for a second did I think you were attacking me. :) I added that for the benefit of anyone who might think I was using Amber's abortion as a reason/excuse to not like her. I should never have brought it up because it has nothing to do with why I don't think she's a hero/victim.

I figured that's why she felt shame for it, because I do believe she is a Christian and that would definitely be a conflict for someone as devout as she is.

I hope she has been able to forgive herself. :)

If Amber Frey were truly a god fearing 'Christian' she wouldn't be having sex with different men, having abortions etc.
She is probably about as 'Christian' as Patsy Ramsey was.
Ha.

Noone needs to be forgiven by anyone else for anything.
Just my two cents :p

I wonder if she felt shame for having an affair with a married man, and having children out of wedlock, AND then lying about who the father was - she did that right? Devout Christian?

I think forgiveness was important to her. Probably it was more about forgiving herself for doing something that wasn't happy about.
She said she was in a lot of emotional pain and did not talk to anyone about it and did not even tell anyone about it. She said if she talked about it it would make it real and she didn't want it to be real.
She turned to God to help her find her way. She felt that she repented to God for her mistake, and it was one she would never make again.
again, those are her words.

Whoever said that being a Christian meant being perfect, never sinning?

You sure do a good bit of "judging" yourself, considering you seem to have a problem with others doing it.

Yes, I think she is one NOW. I don't know whether she was back then, as I did not read her book.

But to answer your question, I'd think she has a lot of shame for a lot of her actions. I hope so anyway, but I also hope that she has been able to let go of it and forgive herself.

I'm sorry but I do find alot of the posters who bag Amber judgemental, anyone would think noone here has ever had sex before marriage or considered an abortion.
So I guess in a sense I am judging you for judging her :p

I liked the book Animal Farm.

All pigs are equal right?

Okay, I understand nobody is perfect and I certainly don't propose to be for one minute, and as I said earlier, I think the option of abortion is each to their own.

I'm not going to debate Amber's position on Christianity, as I cannot speak for her nor do I know what's in her heart. All I can say is that Christians sin everyday, an honest one will readily admit it and ask for forgiveness.
