Totally missed this earlier. There is a drawing next to BK on his left on the table. It appears to be a black heart drawn with a black border. There is also a pen sitting there. Did anybody else take note of this? Where did it come from? Did he draw it? Is he absolutely just messing with us? JMOO

It is also possible that I have misunderstood.

I had read that BK was focused on Madison Mogen. He went to a bar she worked at and she rejected his advance. The others in the house were killed because they went to see what the commotion was. Blums’ book, When the Night Comes Calling: A Requiem for the Idaho Student Murders.

Working my way through the first batch of the document dump. I wonder why so much rage was especially directed at Kaylee. Page 23 of the general narrative says she was unrecognizable because her "facial structure was extremely damaged".
Didn’t SG say at one point that Kaylee had defensive wounds? I would imagine that what was happening to Maddie right next to her woke her up and she tried to fight back when BK turned the knife on her. That would have pissed him off even more.
MOO.

Wow! I'm in document batch 151-200 (I'm only reading the larger pdfs) and THIS came up in Document 153: Using google search (via search warrant) to search for ALL persons in the general region who had googled the following:

==========

They submitted in November, but it was a complex search and they got results around Dec 22.
They already had had a tip regarding a student at U of W (Bryan Kohberger) who had a white sedan resembling the sought after car AND was considered suspicious by at least one person, who called the tip line. ANYWAY.

In Document 151, they conclude that one person made several of the searches above, and in the time immediately following the murders. He also had a white Elantra. His name, of course, is Bryan Kohberger.

So, by December, they had so many strands of evidence on him (footage from the Linda Drive house; other footage of the White Elantra going by several times; someone had tipped them that Kohberger had been gifted a Ka-Bar knife by a prof at U of Oklahoma (where he took just one undergrad class in criminology - because it was cheaper than his other school).

And so, they began to plan the serving of warrants in Pennsylvania.
======
The amount of police work in that first month is just incredible!
Great post, as usual, but as a U of W (UW) grad, I want to point out that BK was at WSU, not UW. It’s bad enough that UW had Bundy… we don’t need to be attributed BK too!

Just FYI, in the presser afterward, LE said they could find no links whatsoever between him and his victims.
So I heard them say this. Are we really just to believe he just "randomly" picked this house?

Document 174: While reviewing Kohberger's cell phone data extraction I located a screen shot of the Whitman County Jail Roster with C F information. The last modified date/time for the image was 11-13-2022 @ 6:27:12 PM. This image was taken from YikYak.

In Kohberger's Chrome tab History, on his phone, I located where he searched Google for: Broadcastify.com/listen/feed, Pullman police and fire dispatch liveaudio feed, on 11-13-2022 at 12:26:49 AM.

It might not have been rage. It might have been oh my god I need to harm these 2 very quickly, especially if he wasn't expecting two, so he was slashing and stabbing anywhere in panic

How is he going to pay this? 🤔
Just a guess .. I would imagine a judgment will be issued and, in the event he ever comes into money (i.e. inheritance ??), the funds can be accessed to fulfil the Order of the Court. Perhaps Judge Hippler's Order itself will be the only 'paperwork' necessary to carry out the judgement, and I'm sure however a judgement is worded, there will be no limitation period so it will survive BK's concurrent life sentences.

I've always wondered (if there is no other evidence) if it was connected to the pool party he attended that summer on the other side of the university (the party talked about in Dateline). I wonder if one of the girls at that party that he'd been talking to or watching mentioned out loud that she lived in one of those apartments over near 1122....like the ones across the street or the apt building whose parking lot ran behind 1122. Maybe when he got back to his apartment, he looked up the name of the complex, and that night when his phone showed him connecting to the same cell tower as 1122 King for the first he drove over to scope out that girl's apartment...maybe that's how 1122 caught his eye. I seem to recall that at least one of the girls was living in the house that summer...perhaps he noticed that he could see right in the house with the lights and no blinds and watch a girl walking around inside 1122.

Just my opinion .. that is incorrect. It was a persistent rumor in the beginning of this case.
MM never worked at a bar, but she did work at a vegan restaurant and BK was reportedly a vegan so I think that’s how it got started ( the hypothetical).
I don’t believe BK interacted with any of the victims.

No one went to check on a commotion because they were slain in their beds.

Wow, they do look alike. Not sure a red dress was the best choice, JMO

What is appropriate dress wear during the summer in Boise, ID to go to court to see your brother sentenced for killing four people? We don't know their financial status. Maybe this is all she had to wear.

I think that she showed a lot of strength today. Under extreme circumstances. I am not sure I would have been able to deal with the raw emotions today. And vitriol. Poor gal. She didn't kill anyone.

IMO....she ruined whatever he had planned with MM.

So behind. So much posted since I last logged on. Watched a lot of the sentencing on TV.
KG sister's victim impact statement had me glued to the TV. She put his a$$ on the spit toasted and then roasted him till he was chared! And her ending was the cherry on top!

What kind of Professor gifts a student a knife??
The whole story is very confusing and we will probably never know. In another document, one officer contacts the registrar at U of O and finds BK was never enrolled there. Then, apparently, there may have been some other name he was using or something. At any rate, the person who gave this information said she was there, gave the prof's name, and said they were talking intensely about crime, and apparently the professor decided to gift Kohberger with a knife.

I've heard this story before, the prof's initials are given in the redacted documents and the person who was the eyewitness (supposedly) was talking about the incident on social media.

I was just very surprised to see that LE actually talked to this witness and put the story in the tip file.

😮

SO sorry. My bad. That's terrible! Let me see if still editable.

Just in the nick of time - I think I was able to fix it before edit time/thread closing. Thanks so much.

We don't know if that actually happened, it says that LE received a tip that a professor gave BK a Ka-bar knife. I didn't see it mentioned that this was confirmed.
