Yeah, something tells me based on how he was in high school already set this up. I do wonder if anything from his childhood pointed to signs. Dennis Radar and Ed Kemper, had fascination with death by the time both were 7yrs old, Kemper it was 4yrs old. Anyway, I'm wondering if he was interested in death at an early age or was really into something like pyro/arson stuff. This feels like him masking, which psychopaths can up hold for decades with never getting exhausted, the fake version we see them present. So I'm wondering if there was anything as a pre-curser, because no one just murders that many people as a budding serial murder without some kind of murder years earlier or some interest in death/murder since childhood.

I almost feel like more so than being obsessed with death, BK was obsessed with being the perfect criminal.
He's such an arrogant, insufferable know-it-all, he probably saw during his studies all the dumb ways criminals got caught and scoffed, thinking he could do better than those idiots (he couldn't)

He seems like a good suspect, but apparently wasn't in the area at the time:

Seems that she's detail-oriented and not up for sensationalizing

Adding to this (possibility he could have driven out to WA from PA at this juncture and went on a "practice run" if you will), that very early on, OP had accessed the mileage on his car within the vehicle registry in PA somehow, unproven or unlinked so suppositions, IIRC, but...

OP said there were 6,000ish to 10,000ish miles added to the original mileage presumably after his mother gave him the vehicle during the months before he officially moved to WA to attend Pullman University.

Which sounded like a lot for someone living locally in PA AFAWK and attending college at DeSales. Innuendo that pointed to him having taken some longish cross country trips during that time.

If you read the article excerpt in my post with the link to this article just above, it says LE stopped the investigation of BK being potentially a POI after 9 days because Univ of Pullman said he had not been officially enrolled in the "visit campus/orientation".

But the last part of the excerpt said LE had apparently taken that at face value, and had not explored whether he had been there unannounced/unofficially.

I agree! Ever since witnessing BK sitting defiantly in the courtroom while he admitted to the murders, a Kevin Spacey line from Se7en keeps popping into my thoughts: "I'm setting the example. What I've done is going to be puzzled over and studied and followed... forever."

MOO is that BK will never, ever tell the why and how of his murderous rage. If he did, no more mystery and interest about him is swept under the rug...forever.

Thanks for posting this about the gender not being specified in this other case, and height description of the intruder who was attacking her over her bed in the dark being estimated by the woman in her eye witness testimony as between 5' 3" and 5' 5".

Perhaps the height difference between the intruder in that case and how DM described the intruder she saw walk by her outside her bedroom door the night of the murders BK has plead guilty to as: "...male, 5 feet 10 inches or taller..." was another reason as to why LE didn't pursue BK in their investigation.

The possible difference in height between the two intruders in these two cases with very similar circumstances and within 10 miles of each other locationally within a year of each other, IIRC, based on eye witness testimonies, could be significant.

As well as their own heights and positions (one waking up to see someone leaning over them in bed, and the other standing up as someone walked past them).
