So, with Dezi aware of the assault allegations against him, does that make it more or less likely that he killed himself?

When he said that those assault allegations were 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 did he mean that as a sovereign citizen he thinks the laws don't apply to him or that he thinks the allegations against him were made up?

What Dezi did ended up in 2 cops being killed ( allegedly )

Sure, but that doesn't mean the police themselves can't learn some lessons from this too so that next time a situation like this is handled better.

I agree with reebot to an extent.

Cornering someone who feels paranoid and threatened by police and while their wife and 2 year old child are there is not likely to have a positive outcome.

Yes Freeman is the one to blame for the police men’s deaths, no doubt about it. Lessons from this however can surely be learned.

After seeing these images and learning more about how it went down, it’s even more astonishing that Freeman and family were able to escape after the shots. The situation evolved for over 20 minutes and there were at least 4 officers (as seen in the images outside the bus) - what happened to the 4th officer that wasn’t shot at and where were the other 6 police officers during that time the family escaped? Weren’t they close by for back up if needed? If so how could they let Freeman and family escape unseen?

Your questions will be answered when they have an inquest for these deaths. At the moment we just don't have enough details - only bits from a video that (I would think) someone was filming so they could show it to sympathisers and courts.

For example, during the inquest for the massacre of the Qld police by the Trains lots of things about the police situation at Wieambilla became clear.

imo

Khoa has stated that his mother rang him after the shooting, so I assume that he wasn’t at the property. The 15 year old son must have done the filming?

I remember reading that the bus had a back exit, but I can’t find it now. It makes sense that would be the only way that Dezi got away? IMO

Gently, maybe it was DF controlling the situation with everything he knows from his so cit world. He locked himself in that caravan with his wife and baby knowing the police were coming. Is that controlling? He wouldn’t come out. Was he controlling the lives of his wife, baby and the family member in the annex too? He wasn’t ’cornered’, rather he put himself in his fortress. Was he paranoid? Medically there’s nothing to suggest that at all. Threatened? He was inside that bus with a gun.

In terms of the comments about how DF could escape unseen despite other officers around, maybe we need to wait for the next round of the Freeman family members video release to know what happened.

Did he know the police were coming?

That is laying a hypothetical over a hypothetical. Without knowing if DF is alive or dead, you can only speculate if he has committed suicide, let alone any likeliness or reasoning. The brush strokes are too broad IMO

Isn't this thread 90 percent speculation though?

There is a short drone video here - linked - which shows the layout of the property, and the mountainous bushland that Filby fled into.

Search for an alleged killer

The video was referenced in the latest Advertiser article, but the video is not paywalled.
(When the link opens just click on the picture and the video will start.)

Feel free to speculate. I was answering your question with my opinion. Cheers

I'm just trying to work out what his mindset would be. Before the footage was released I was of the opinion he'd accidentally fallen down a mine somewhere, but now I'm kind of leaning towards suicide.

Information stated as fact must be supported by a link to a mainstream media or law enforcement source (or other WS approved source) to substantiate the fact, otherwise the post will be removed, along with all responses to it. If the information is only your opinion, please make that clear in your post so that opinions do not become rumors attributed to Websleuths as the source.

Given df history why wasn't a police negotiator called in instead of continuing for in excess of 20 minutes before breaking into the bus?. Makes you wonder if this operation was flawed and the flaws resulted in the unnecessary deaths of 2 policeman. Keep in mind DF was not being targeted for murder or the like.

Do these signs (circled in red) designate two emergency exit windows - one on each side of the bus?

Ok fair enough. It sounds like you are of the opinion that DF is deceased.
Do you see what I mean though? Its putting the cart before the horse, so to speak. You're trying to work out the cause of death before knowing if he has actually died.

For what it's worth, my opinion is he's still alive. My reason for that is simply because he's not been found. I think he's planned something like this for some time and was reasonably well prepared. By all accounts he knows Mt Buffalo inside and out. If he had made it past road blocks, police etc early on he could be literally anywhere.
