Preliminary Report Human Remains are not Hailey

I'll join those of you who aren't convinced that this body is male.

With all of the messed up information that has been passed around by LE since the beginning of this case, I'm not ready to believe that this information is true without some proof.

Remarks made to the media by the lead investigator in Howard County indicated that the autopsy was in progress on the day that we were told that it was male.
Two days later we are being told that a "preliminary autopsy" has yet to be done.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who wonders if this body is really that of a male. I just can't shake the feeling that it's too coincidental to be so close to Hailey's home. Are there reports of any boys missing from the area? Could they be wrong???

Maybe I'm just hopeful (not that she's deceased but just that she's found so there is closure) and not wanting to accept that this isn't her. Too many things fit that it would be her and not a male. :moo:

I think the flea from CCity had to do with LE and fears concerning the preceived harrassment in the area, and the job hunt and an offer from someone in Austin. This is just opinion ,but I think it had more to do than one or two issues.

I also think someone close to her might have suggested she move out of Ccity's LE area. MOO. I think I would do the same after that many arrest of my family members and myself. LE reporting my every moment to the media. Everyone in CCity facebooking about everything I did , where I was seen shopping and plain out making up rumors and posting photoshopped pictures of my house ,and my body.
LE has said she is not a suspect, they have stuck to the 315 pm for the last time seen.
I believe they know Hailey played the XBOX during the day of the 27th. But that is speculation.

And certainly they can tell the difference between a body that has been decaying for 33 years compared to less than two.

Didn't someone say they saw hair attached to the skull? Was it ever mentioned the length? If it was long compared to short, that is more than likely a girl.

The poster SDT stated in another thread that... the reporters that had been on the scene since 5:00AM stated that they were told these things about the body from their sources:

Body was in a trash bag
It had been buried and looked as if recent rains and wind had unearthed it
Small hands similar to a child
Partial mummification
Long hair similar to Hailey's still attached to the head
Small items that were recovered in the bag point to this being her
BD and SA were both in Colorado City as of yesterday


BBM.. Could it be something belonging to Hailey was actually buried with the remains they are now claiming to be that of a male?

what are the chances that LE tried to stop the leak with another leak that it wasn't hailey. Suppose LE wants time to have the remains tested, and find evidence to charge someone. With the media on top of them they will feel rushed. If one person leaks it is her I can see another leak saying it is male, only to state when they are ready that they were wrong. Anyone know what I mean?

I know what you mean Lera, but this case has involved several different agencies and jurisdictions. In my opinion, CCPD isn't tyring that hard to find Hailey and resents having to cooperate with Rangers and FBI. Howard county is where the body was found and I believe it was either their sheriff's dept. or Big Spring PD who made the statement that "preliminary results" indicate this is a male.

I just don't see that many different agencies cooperating in a ruse.

(Unless BSPD is clever enough to pull it off without letting certain other PD's in on the secret!)

If the body is not male I think it is likely just another mistake, but I could be wrong! :moo:

I have a question...

Media reports said something about clothing and/or items in the bag that tied the remains to Hailey's case. Then an investigator or cop (somebody official of some sort) said in an interview that the hair matched Hailey's description. Well, if these are true facts, then how could the remains be that of a male? Would he be a cross dresser with long hair? Could the perp in Hailey's abduction have harmed another individual & dressed the person in Hailey's clothes? So what is fact with regards to these remains found in Big Spring? If these remains are in fact male, who else is missing from say 5 years ago til today? The investigator said the remains were there for around 18 months to 2 years. How would he know that without the dirt & bone mummification being tested yet?

Some things I'm confused about...

1) Were there items of clothing found in the bag with the remains?

2) If there are clothes present, are they female clothes?

3) Was there a blanket or sheet wrapped around the cadaver?

4) What are the other items that were found in the bag?

5) Why did it take so long to determine sex? It's basic anatomy that any ME would know upon first eyesight of the bones, pointedly the pelvic & hip bones. A forensic anthropologist or pathologist isn't needed to determine sex unless the remains were missing important bones.

Will all the technology these days how darn hard is it to identify remains and surely there is missing persons report on this John Doe if it is John Doe. I would think they would have a clue who these remains belong to.

I know I won't believe it until the remains are ID'd or at least until they are completely definite they are male by DNA. Too few days to say they think it's HD, then do an about face. And y'all sleuthers have not found anyone to say it is another missing person of the original description of the remains. jmo

It's a shame, imo. Somebody out there is missing someone....maybe even a child and no one is giving the public the basic info on this person...which they surely know by now. I'm getting a little ticked...and anxious again with the authorities. Nor am I seeing anything from the media in their trying to find out. Errrrrgh.
