Preliminary Report Human Remains are not Hailey

PK was former FBI....and the remains were sent to Ft Worth. I'm seriously not putting anything into what has been reported so far...unless it can be backed up with other MSM. As far as The Examiner...if it's not Isabelle Z, then I take it with a great grain of salt. IMO.

JMO, it seems both articles are a way to satisfy and abate the curious...for some reason. Just like PK did. I'm not a ME by a long shot, but the authorities KNOW by now (if there were bones and teeth) more about this person. How tall he was, approx age within 10 yrs, approx weight, what previous injuries, ethnicity, how long the remains had been there, etc. The only things they would be waiting on would be toxicology and DNA. Were they able to get fingerprints...did they match anyone in system? Why is MSM not reporting anything at this point? (I'm still catching up...so..) LE's holding back for some reason...still..
IMO

PK appears to have a career as city manager in small rural towns, which makes me think that whatever he did at the FBI had little to do with investigation, and he was not too successfull at it. Otherwise you would think that he would be getting better jobs than that. He could have been a janitor for all we know.

Are we at all sure that anyone officially associated with law enforcement started or encouraged the rumor or did the media start it with "sources" and it took off from there? I don't remember seeing any specific person named as stating it was Hailey but I might have missed it in the mass of posts.

If you missed it so did I. In fact people were complaining because the LE wouldn't say. And also it was reported that the LE did not contact Billie or anyone. I think everyone jumped to a conclusion when all the family showed back up in town. But, I never saw or heard anyone in authority make a presumptive announcement that it was HD. Everyone just really wanted it to be so there could be closure. jmo

Interesting. None of the 5 missing men are "elderly", imo. Wonder who this man is? :(

It appeared to me that the place was very near I-20. That is a very long Interstate so the person could be from anywhere. jmo

I wonder how they couldn't tell between an elderly man and thirteen year old girl? The article says he was fully clothed. I don't get this at all. Why did the police let these rumors continue to fly if this is a fully clothed elderly man? Why let us have hope at all this could be Hailey when as more details come out, it is so totally not her and that should have been visible? The media is not the only thing at fault here. The police should put those rumors to rest a lot sooner. How ridiculous.

BBM: I totally agree ... LE should have put a "stop" to the "rumors" ...

I am sure that LE watches the news, and reads the papers and blogs" ... so they knew what was being said, therefore, IF it was NOT Hailey, why did they let the "speculation" go on for 3 days ?

:waitasec: Unless it was part of LE's "strategy" to see what the "perp" would do ?

I just hope and pray that Hailey is found soon !

:please::please:

If I remember correctly the JP that was called out to the scene said it was the worse case of deteoriation he had ever seen in 33 years. Also we were told that it was mummified and skeletonized, but we were not told which parts were which. Also the remains were sent to Ft.Worth because there was an anthropoligist on staff. That speaks volumes and I am sure there was not a normal (as we know it) autopsy done. I am not sure we can believe anything that was first reported pertaining to clothing, hair, or items in the grave. jmo

I understand that, but they said this mummy was fully clothed. I highly doubt an elderly man wears the same clothes as a thirteen year old girl. I know it was difficult to identify and I'm not trying to take away from that. I'm just saying it seems like there was enough there for the police to at least say that the skeleton probably wasn't Hailey Dunn. They didn't do that, but left it up in the air for three days, giving hope to a lot of people that she had been found and justice would be served. I mean, in most other cases, the police usually immediately say or give some kind of preliminary finding of whether it's the victim or not. There's usually telltale evidence that identifies the body as the victim, such as clothes, jewelry, etc. Seems here there was no evidence that suggested this was Hailey Dunn. And the police chose to be quiet and not say anything until three days later. Something isn't right there.

I agree 100%! Bringing Hailey's investigative team out while the press was there helped only to further the belief that Hailey had most definitely been found. LE in my opinion encouraged that thought process.

Perhaps they wanted to see reactions? :twocents:

But a reaction Shawn did in fact show. He hired a new attorney. His 3rd attorney since Hailey went missing.

And this attorney postured quite a bit in the news making statement after statement. I have no idea what happened to Hailey. But for sure there was a reaction. MOO

That would imply that he didn't know it wasn't her. If he did know it wasn't her then he would not have bothered.

Only the people who knew the body wasn't HD would not have reacted.

I actually dont get how you work that one out at all.

Simple. If you knew that whatever they found was not going to affect you, you wouldnt be the least bit concerned.

If you were the guilty one you would go about you day as normal, because you knew it wasn't her.

If you were the innocent one you would get into a panic because your worst fears had apparently been realized.

If it HAD been her, then both parties would react with fear and trepidation, so their response would tell us nothing in that situation. But, we know the body wasn't HD, so the responses are telling.
