Sorry for not going back and replying with quotes to the posts that I am going to respond to, however, JA has not killed anyone else yet while in jail but she HAS gotten into at least one fight that we know of. IMO one of the main reasons why she has not killed anyone else is because she not only does not have a weapon to do so, she is watched now 24/7. Given the chance/opportunity it is my opinion that JA would kill someone else in a heartbeat. It doesn't have to be someone that she is close to, it could be someone that she feels has wronged her in some way. JA is the type of individual that would have become a serial killer if she had not been arrested as soon as she was. Proof of that is the gun (hidden under the hood of the rental car) and knives (hidden in boxes with books) that she packed in the rental car to go on her "trip".

MOO
Yep,

IIRC, she has been in more than one altercation and is always screaming self-defense. Since the Jail HAS to keep her presentable, available for trial and keep her "Team" off their backs. Jodi has pretty much skated.

CAN NOT WAIT FOR PERRYVILLE! She's gonna find out who's who in the zoo....real quick like.

Not Mexico with a gun. Look at the US Marine that made the wrong turn into Mexico at the border. He had a gun in the back of his truck. They detained him for 6 months before giving him back to us. It is illegal to enter Mexico from the US with a weapon. Plus the rental car. Unless she planned on killing someone in the US and then crossing over to Mexico, then Costa Rica as she was familiar with that country. More likely, she knew the law was after her and would get her revenge on whomever before getting caught. She had nothing to lose. CMJA would not fare well in a Mexican jail.

Why not Mexico lol? She knew she was about to be arrested so she was going to flee. She may have been fleeing to a friend's house but the hidden weapons suggest to me she was trying to hide them so customs wouldn't find them. A risky plan but what did she have to lose?

I tend to agree. Why hide the gun if she were on the way to murder someone?

I think she enjoyed killing Travis. She envisioned herself as a heroine from a martial arts film and she took lessons as a young person. Her father turned her on early to those type of films, and in some of her favorite films, the female warriors fight with knives and swords, also we now know she owned a sword. "Morbid curiosity", right. She was anxious to see her handywork.

Kill again? YES. Revenge, YES. imo

She romanticized killing....she was a real life heroine in her own reality show.

LET ME ADDED: She was a 🤬🤬🤬🤬 star, she was a super hero, she was a ninga, she was a beauty queen, she was a Lolita, she was a master photographer, she was an artist, she is a legal wizard/master lawyer, etc etc....DID I miss anything????

we just watched 'Runaway Bride' and she's no Julia Roberts but in a way it's the same. Jodi is whoever she has to be to impress or twist whoever she's with. She's a poser, she doesn't know how to be a whole person so she copies whoever she's with. She likes her eggs the same way whoever she's with like them. Jodi was who Darryl, Bobby, Matt, Travis expected her to be because she lacked the ability to know herself and to feel things like the rest of us.

Exactly. I can't rationalize it otherwise. They probably wouldn't have checked her hood either. She could have made it.

I agree. I've crossed Canadian customs a few times. We've been stopped but we've also not been stopped. They don't always stop you if you don't look very suspicious. They may have questioned her having her belongings with her and what her arrangements were (was she moving there or what) and why she was driving a rental but she might have sweet talked her way out of it. She could have said she was staying for a bit but would be back. I mean, I don't know. She probably didn't think it through. All she knew was the cops were coming for her and she needed to get out. I don't think she was headed to kill again. I think she wouldn't have hesitated if she felt she needed to though, hence the gun (that .25 was just too weak, doncha know).

Thank you. To me, this reaffirms my belief that the DT had minimal trial experience prior to having this case assigned to them, although they both (JW/KN) are death penalty qualified attorneys. In reviewing sidebar conversations as well as Juan's objections during both trials, I have noted many occasions where the judge had asked JW to rephrase her questions correctly. Thus, the DT are essentially training on the dime of the taxpayers ie throwing out issues including many of their 17 silly motions to see what sticks. The one particular motion for prosecutorial misconduct that stood out as absurd was Juan signing an autograph outside the building. And unfortunately JSS has given them free reign due to the seriousness of the case.
I am hoping the retrial can move on with more expediency after JSS ' ruling on the 17 silly, frivolous, proven non issues including the dismissal of prosecutorial misconduct and, for goodness sakes, their own "expert" Smith stating on the record there was no 🤬🤬🤬🤬. I don't see what else they can conjour up, but state this with much trepidation.
Let's hope JW & KN's gravy train runs out of steam and we can finally get Justice for Travis.
One thing that really, really irks me the longer this retrial goes on is the total disregard for the victim & his family. They too have a right to a fair & speedy trial to achieve justice for the murder of their loved one. I am a proud American & believe our system of justice is the greatest in the world, but I stand with Juan when he spoke of the victim's family rights in November reminding the Court that the Alexander's had rights too. That's why I wish JSS would have reigned in the defense antics more expediently. I do think, however, the Judge's hands have been tied to a great degree but this past week I have finally seen a method to her madness and have faith in JSS due to her decision on Wednesday. I think she has been fair to both sides.
Dragging the victim's character through the mud all these years makes me sick, though. That is noone but CMJA's fault and her objective from Day 1. Her DT has aided and abetted this as well. Why they acquiesced to that strategy I don't know, because it has backfired. Money perhaps? Is it that easy to sell your soul to the devil? Me thinks yes.

Oh the irony, go look at Wimonts site. She's been a public defender for a long time and here is the bonus you get - she trains lawyers

Jennifer L. Willmott, JD

Jennifer Willmott has spent her entire legal career defending people's
rights and freedoms. She received her undergraduate degree from the
University of Arizona in 1992. In 1995 she graduated from Arizona State
University School of Law. Immediately after graduating from law school,
Jennifer joined the Maricopa County Public Defender's Office. As a trial
attorney, Jennifer defended thousands of cases. At the Public Defender's
Office, Jennifer had the opportunity to defend many different types of
cases ranging from misdemeanor DUI charges to homicides. Beginning
in 2001 Jennifer took on the added responsibility of supervising and
training trial attorneys.

She has successfully tried and won serious felony charges including
aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, sexual assault, kidnapping,
child molest, homicide, and auto theft.

Jennifer dedicates her entire practice to defending those charged with
crimes and DUIs. She practices in Maricopa County Superior Court and
all city courts, including Phoenix, Tempe, Chandler, Gilbert, Mesa,
Buckeye, Tolleson, Glendale, Peoria, and Surprise.

In addition to her criminal defense practice, Jennifer has taught hundreds
of attorneys trial practice skills and how to be a competent and effective
criminal defense attorney. [/B][/B] Many of the attorneys Jennifer has instructed
are now well respected criminal defense attorneys.

and then you have Juan Martinez, a public servant also, but he chose to fight those that commit the crimes that Wilmont and Nurim defend.

Any time in the past when someone remarks on her good looks they are jumped on for it, as if admitting she is attractive is somehow supportive of her or something. She was pretty. Very pretty. And that's a shame.

"I have seen photos where she appears attractive but I have no way of knowing if she ever looked like that."

I'm sorry, I don't follow?

I suppose that is why they say 'beauty is in the eyes of the beholder.' I have never commented much on her looks nor have I ever jumped on anyone nor would I.... that may think she is attractive or as you say, pretty. Everyone has a right to their own opinion.

Imo, she is neither pretty or attractive and I have seen some pretty defendants over the years.

I thought when her hair was bleached blonde it made her even look worse since her skin was almost as pale as her hair.

As far as her facial features they are anything other than what I consider pretty. Her nose is rather bulbous/odd shaped and her eyes don't emit any glow and are very dull. Especially one of her eyes. I am very attracted to eyes when taking in the overall attractiveness or the beauty of a person. With Arias I feel there is nothing behind those eyes. They are devoid of any soft endearing emotions.

At least with her hair dark she does have some color to her now but she is still unattractive to me. I don't think she is butt ugly but she is very much of a plain ordinary Jane to me.

And during this long and lengthy case I have occasionally asked men if they thought she is attractive. Not one, said they thought she was pretty. Most of them said she looks 'average.'

The fact that JW trains trial lawyers.

I don't think JA is or was ever "pretty"....nice figure, nice hair, average features....but, I promise not to pout if others disagree with me. :)

I think he will get to address it through Demarte. I think the rules are relaxed for both sides and her hurting animals certainly seems to be a perfectly valid counter to her mitigation. I was watching video of Demarte in the Devault sentencing and she was able to get a lot of stuff out there about MD that would not have been allowed in the guilt phase. I really look forward to Demarte.

Can you point me to links for Dr. De Marte's testimony during the Marissa Devaul trial? I've been searching in vain! TIA

I see Jodi dropping one of her "mitigation" when she testified to have" never been in trouble with the law", wasn't being busted for growing pot in trouble with the law?

This is exactly what I'm talking about (hey MeeBee)!

Let's look at some facts. Arias has been in jail for over 6.5 years. Who has she killed since going to jail? She's in a "deviant class of her own?" Not even close. She's considered by experts very run of the mill, not even close to the halfway point on Dr. Michael Stone's scale of evil, which has previously been discussed on the Arias threads. He's an expert forensic psychiatrist, considered among the best in the field. The man knows what he's talking about because that's all he studies. Dahmer was at the top of the scale (scoring 22 out of 22). Arias (at a level 9) was actually rated one notch below Susan Smith.

I believe had that gun not jammed or whatever really happened and had TA been killed with one or two gunshots, there probably wouldn't be nearly the hysteria and hyperbole about this killer.

Arias has been elevated (mostly by other women) into something far more than what she actually is. Something about female killers and particularly this female killer has inspired a level of paranoia, despite the actual facts.
I disagree with this. I don't watch Dr. Michael Stone's program, so I can't comment on it, but I think Arias is more evil than others. NOT because she's female, not because she was blonde or attractive, not because she shot him (which was proven to be last). It was the OVERKILL- killing him 3x over, slitting his throat and the number of stab wounds. She didn't shoot him in his sleep. She got him when he was the most vulnerable. And she is a stalker and arrogant, prolific liar, even when she is directly caught in a lie and challenged!!! This is why I and other females hate her. This is why she deserves the Death Penalty. And she doesn't quit! She continued and continues to torture her victim's family- by sending his grandmother flowers and attending his memorial, then assassinating his character.
And it's not paranoia, Jodi would've killed again had she not been arrested when she was. She was on her way with a gun and knives packed. That wasn't for a gold country camping trip... Mimi, Lisa, Deanna, the new girl mentioned Brooke, and the Hughes' are all lucky to be alive.

Regarding JA's looks - I'd say they're okay. She borderline pretty I suppose. But she has the most dead-looking, creepy eyes! They match her affect (if that's the right word), which is almost robotic.

I've never seen anyone - not a woman anyway - so devoid of emotion. Or at least apparently so - she sure can pitch some wrist-breaking fits it seems!

She was busted by her parents, not the police.

With Scott Peterson and OJ both, absolutely yes fleeing across the Mexican border. With Jodi, I think it was more likely she was off to kill again, thinking she got away with it. Her possible targets: Mimi, Lisa, Deanna, new girl Brooke, the Hughes's, possibly even Detective Flores.

Saying JA is pretty is like saying a mannequin is pretty. Her eyes are just dead! There is nothing nice below the surface that I have seen. In fact, the more she opens her mouth, the uglier I think she is.

I remember hearing that her parents called the police on her. That is not something a couple of drug using parents would do!
