If nothing else, everyone should check this out from 26:00 for a few minutes. Wendy says the 9th Circus oops I mean Circuit is notorious for vacating death sentences due to ineffective counsel for not calling mitigation witnesses. She wishes Juan would call some of the people the defense is refusing to (e.g. mommy dearest) in order to try to avoid this.

But KN did call witnesses to testify, according to them. The witnesses have refused to testify unless the court is closed. Not going to happen. I wonder if the Judge had check them out to see why they refused to appear. More likely they did not want to appear under any circumstances. jmo

Yeah, she testified that she had a personal account and a "business" account. LOL

I think even 6 or 7 yrs ago, the banks were not as computerized. And it was possible to play a game with two accounts, depositing a check from one acct to the other and back again, without enough funds, before the banks could catch it.

Interesting, Rose that psychopath Arias couldn't wait to get hold of the same combination of weapons which were used in the slaughter of Travis. No sign of PTSD there.

She has displayed absolutely no genuine signs of trauma. Chillingly, she wanted to see the photos. Even when faking tears in court, she managed to leave a gap in the hand covering her face to peep at evidence. She creeps me out.

yes, the dt certainly threw alot out there - ninja's, ptsd, self defense, child 🤬🤬🤬🤬, now mentally ill. i'd say they're running out of defense tactics. i definately dont believe any of them.
you also mentioned ja of getting the same combination of weapons. i think those weapons after using them on travis gave her a sense of empowerment, a sense of control. alot of murderers do have their own "choice of weapons" and i'm assuming knives and a gun became ja's.

you might be right frigga, she snooped in every crook and cranny of his house, and i'd say if he ever had the habit of maybe stashing some cash for a just in case, no doubt in my mind she would know exactly where it was.

OT loveschows, I just have to tell you your Chow Chow looks exactly like My Dog Joey :-)

She has been convicted of an atrocious crime-- nearly beheading (the slit throat is actually a gaping hole) a man in two minutes is really quite something. She readily feels wronged by the slightest of things. Her list of enemies must be a page long by now. Her primitive thirst for revenge is off the charts. If you also take into consideration her abuse of animals then I think it's very likely that she will kill again. She can cry 'self-defense!' in the case of a grown man but harming innocent creatures? She hurt them unprovoked. So, if she capable of butchering an innocent man to death and hurting animals then she is capable of killing again and again and again.
ITA, rose222. If released, Jodi WILL kill again. This has been a learning curve. I googled her and found several articles of her own tweets and contact with cult-like followers. Jodi has a list of the people she has completely written off. Many are past followers who had the audacity to say something that pissed her off. Some are still posting, considering themselves undying devotees. Jodi demands those still in her good graces not contact or post with those exiled. Not her exact words, but the best way to describe it.

There is no reason to keep such a list and make demands of those still in good graces except to exact some sort of revenge. Even her Mother is listed as not especially and completely on board, but Jodi asks that she not be condemned. Interesting that Jodi would expect her control over the 'Jodi Army' to attack (kill)?

The posts were an interesting read and definitely controlling.

Well, see y'all in the morning for court.

She bought the gun July 1, 2008. 10 day wait. $25 registration fee. She was arrested July 15.
IMO the greatest threat to her life was the State of Arizona!
It still is, that's the "Death Threats" she's been receiving!!!

From a legal standpoint, unless he subpoenas them (other than the guy living simultaneously in both La-la-land and Kiwi-land) then it seems that he hasn't REALLY tried to call them. That's why Juan keeps arguing he is making no attempt at all. Too bad there's not a law that DP attys paid by taxpayers don't get 75% of their money put of hold for 5 years to be forfeited if found to have provided ineffective assistance. Either that or the judge should say she'll report him to the bar if he doesn't make more of an attempt. As it is, it looks like he's pocketed around $1M while setting it up to get overturned by the 9th.

So, JA wanted to make a run for it and get her parents help so she LIED AGAIN. Really? She told them that someone from LE had called her work the day before to talk about her grandparents burglary? BULLCHIT! LE would not be watching her on one hand while another group of LE called her work, unless they wanted to make her try to make a run for it!
Personally, I think she was just lying to her parents again to get them to rent the car for her. She even told them she would not be seeing them for a while. Two stories? I was going camping with a bunch of men I barely knew so I packed protection? Oh wait, no! I was going to take personnel items back to my old boyfriends? LIAR, LIAR, PANTS ON FIRE!
And don't forget my personal favorite: "I bought a gun to demonstrate I was a responsible gun owner"!

Shooting an unarmed man in cold blood and it not being self-defense, is NOT what I would call a responsible gun owner. Nor would I think a normal person immediately go out and buy one after they had recently murdered somebody.

the torturing pets sidebar @ :19 of 1:59 Juan says "if this is the chart that they are going to be using I've already established that the family of origin issue is involved"

Oooh, oooh, Oooh!!! Maybe this means he will be bringing the kicking of Doggy Boy in!!! I hope, I hope, I hope...:praying::praying::praying:

Just seems odd wording is used.

Now....I am wondering why none of Jodi's family has been subpoenaed by either side.

Credibility issues or they refused. Cindy Anthony got up on the stand and committed perjury. Would you believe her parents will tell the truth???

I found this article interesting. I am just adding a snippet from it:

* Just One Juror. In the State of Washington, Kwan Fai Mak was represented at trial by counsel who had no experience with death penalty cases. The attorney realized too late that he had not adequately prepared for the sentencing phase of the trial. Due to his lack of preparation, none of the readily available mitigating evidence regarding Mak's background, family relationships, or cultural differences was presented to the jury, which returned a sentence of death. [52]
"To fail to present important mitigating evidence in the penalty phase . . . can be as devastating as a failure to present proof of innocence in the guilt phase."
--Mak v. Blodgett

Upon federal review, the court emphasized the critical nature of the sentencing hearing and the attorney's role in presenting evidence:

The issue for the jury is whether the defendant will live or die . . . . The sentencing hearing is defense counsel's chance to show the jury that the defendant, despite the crime, is worth saving as a human being . . . . To fail to present important mitigating evidence in the penalty phase--if there is no risk in doing so--can be as devastating as a failure to present proof of innocence in the guilt phase. [53]

Under Washington law, if just one juror had found the existence of a mitigating circumstance the sentence would have been life rather than death.[54] But with no such evidence presented, the jury had little choice."

The article is quite long but if anyone wants to read it, here is the link:

Kathy Griffin tour to Perryville. Approx 5:12 she's at the Lumley Unit ( DR) with Wendi Andriano.

So happy to see the restrictions on Wendy Andriano (this is who Juan put on DR), but she seems to be fine with it.

Yes! Great point, loveschows. She has already used that exact combination of weapons. It was her first kill. She succeeded in slaughtering a man who fought to wrestle the knife from her. They were tokens of power and control as well as potential killing tools.

ive always attributed the extra money she had on her to turning tricks whenever and wherever she needed it. i have also always wondered that before she went to mesa to fullfill her final chapter with travis, she borrowed money off of paul stern in that cafe, or whatever it was, and told him she needed to go to mesa and fix things with her boyfriend. on her way she made 3 deposits totalling what - $7-800 ? i've never read anywhere how she came up with the money to pay him back when she got back to yreka. he was on hln stating that she did pay him back. and we know there was only a short period of time before she was arrested, so its not like she was holding a job and earned that much money to pay him back. any ideas? maybe she hacked travis's bank accts after she murdered him, and if thats the case, wouldnt that be in the testimony? always wondered where she got the money to pay him back.

Some have speculated that she irregularly engaged in some truck stop trick-ery.

Her promiscuity is far from shocking.

After all, she was only "dabbling in Mormonism" according to Abe.

How would Juan calling those witnesses avoid this issue on appeal??? I don't think they will get her verdict overturned on appeal due to Ineffective Counsel. It's very difficult to do, even when the lawyer is asleep in court, and it will be years at any rate...
Ryan Ferguson was falsely convicted of murder based solely on someone else's testimony and he spent 10 years in prison for a crime he didn't commit before he got his conviction overturned on appeal.

It's her MO. knive and gun attack.

If Juan called mommy or any other defense witness, he'd be requesting in short order that they be declared hostile witnesses (over vehement defense objections) so he could ask them leading questions. He might be counting on them to lie in a way that's obvious to the jury.
