Afternoon all! Is anything new happening? I've been pulled away all morning!

Thank you for this! Nurmi wants to argue this with the COA when they have basically said no more secret testimony. Is he going to ask for a closed hearing or a side bar? How can he argue his case without revealing the secret witness and the reasoning?

This was in reply to 04009margaret
"JSS definitely stated at the end of that sidebar that when court resumes on the Wednesday of next week that it would be with witness testimony. Nurmi wants to file papers with the COA & they have to be filed by Friday, so JSS has given him until Friday to do that, then from Wednesday the trial proceeds."

I've thought long and hard on why KN is attempting to subjugate the rights of AZ citizens to transparency in this case for what appears to be completely unfounded "fears". It's my opinion, JA, who once said no jury would ever convict her, has decided to go for 2nd place - that no jury will ever sentence her!

I think she just might believe JSS will give her a chance at parole, and she's determined to run this trial off its rails, forcing the judge to hand down her sentence. I see her hand stuffed in the back of Nurmi's jacket, yanking his chains, and making the "dummy" perform at her will. jmho

Here's a link the AZ rules on cameras in the court:

http://www.azcourts.gov/mediaroom/camerasincourt.aspx

So from my way of reading these, I see no violations of the rules and it seems that once again, Nurmi is pushing the judge hard and she is acquiescing to him.

The other day, he complained about her being photographed in her stripes. SMH

Here's the rule Nurmi cited. It says nothing about a mitigation specialist, it specifies attorney or judge. So why does JSS send out the PIO for this?
Well, as usual, it appears that Nurmi and case law are strangers.:dance:

The other day, IIRC, the azcentral people referred to the camera as their equipment. I can't imagine they were unaware of rule 122, and pretty sure they know that what they filmed yesterday was within the rules. Nurmi's little fit today has nothing to do with anything other than not liking what that video showed about his 'team', but I do wonder how he described it to JSS. By having the PIO approach the camera people, it suggested they'd done something wrong, when actually they didn't.

Games, games and more games - about all the DT has to play with, I suppose. I can see why Nurmi needed extra time to prepare for COA - he probably heard that with them he actually has to argue AZ law, rather than just whine about how his poor wittle girl is being bullied and demand the judge stop it.

Sizzlebar . .
Tardy Juror w/med appt
Judge in chambers - JA out to time-out chair
Court recessed til Wed

Nurmi whined someone videotaped & posted video of JA speaking to her BFF non-Atty Mitigation specialist

discussions on whether the law he cited about no video while Judge off bench is also in play here . . .

carry on

Where was this? I was in surgery yesterday so I am really confused. with the snippets that I have been reading. Somehow I thought reading all of this while on good IV drugs would be fun.....but it really is not.

1) Is there anything worth watching from yesterday?
2) why is juror already in a scheduling conflict this early in the trial?
3) Why could they not have court today?

@monicalindstrom: Believe that #Nurmi is upset that #JodiArias was recorded yesterday in trial and broadcast, he will likely file a motion re it

RBBM: Yes !

JMO but I believe that JSS will give her life WITH the chance of parole ...

It's obvious JSS has NO backbone and is NOT capable of sentencing CMJA appropriately for the murder of Travis !

:moo:

He's waiting for AZLawyer to post so he can get help with the case law. :D Kidding (sort of). :silenced:
Now that's funny!

1) See post #45 on the sidebar
2) Good question - no one knows (maybe an acute issue?)
3) no court til Wed

nothing new has happened since you went under in going forward in the case . . . just more litigation hoopla (IMO)

JMHO .... It appears to me the DT is stalking the media.

I would think a juror has a responsiblity to inform the court in advance of any appointments that could cause any delays to a trial, but then again this isn't a normal trial. argh <sigh>

I would think so, too - but maybe a medical issue came up yesterday, when they had no court? Sounded like the juror expected to be there in time , maybe an early morning appointment that ran late. JMO

Checked in to see that we are still in the waiting state - until next Wednesday. This week has been a total waste of time for everyone. Hope the killer is enjoying her stupid field trips. Grrrr!!!

While we are waiting for the jury to be dismissed , I thought I'd point out that there is no way she has highlights. She's just going grey, and fast! With all the delays she and Nurmi are orchestrating, she is going to look like Donkey from Shrek when the trial is over.
That is what I thought until I saw the picture from yesterday. The one from the back, sporting her brace. I know she is going gray in her young years and that gives me pleasure, especially since she is claiming to be a young girl. It might have been the lighting...but...take a peek.

@TrialDiariesJ: Juror can't make it so they will be called and told not to come back till Nov. 12th, 9:30am MST #JodiArias #3tvarias

I hope they don't use this juror as the excuse to postpone until Wed. The other jurors won't be happy with him/her. JMO

That video from CMJA's parents was ridiculous. So was her aunt demanding an apology from Travis's family. How about rather than gathering money for an appeal your murdering, lying monster won't win, you gather money to pay back the AZ taxpayers or get ready for the civil suit the Alexanders should and could file against your monster? Instead of ending that farce with a pic of jr monster in pigtails (how trollish!), why not just show what your daughter did? Let people know, hey you're donating money so this monster can go free and maybe just maybe come after your son, brother, cousin, or friend. Or boyfriend.

I'm all for rights, but when one slaughters a man three times over, that kinda goes out the window. Btw, the innocence project would be all over this if it were a case of wrongful conviction. Oh and call us when your darling daughter accuses you in secret court of molesting, beating, whatever to her. Anything to save Jodi, right?

Apparently the vid has been taken down. Does anyone know if a transcript of it exists? TIA

Honestly, I do not understand the whole issue of the DT demanding they have witnesses in a specific order and that they will not continue the trial until that can be done. All of the jurors are adults, they have concepts of time. They have watched movies with flashbacks and flash forward scenes, they have had discussions where timing is an element in the subject matter.

Why does it matter so much that one witness goes before another, now that it is 6 years later? If someone was to testify about something that opens the door for another witness - ok, but isn't this the "sentencing" trial?

From WAT:

Wild About Trial @WildAboutTrial · 27s 28 seconds ago

In an extended sizzler here as counsel is still jibble jabbling with the Judge.

#JodiArias sits alone, Maria is not here to hang out.

Wild About Trial @WildAboutTrial · now

Maria just arrived and darted over to her BFF #JodiArias.

Presumably dishing about fashion and http://wildaobuttrial.com

Hmmm.... So Maria arrives a bit later than usual... and a few minutes later the PIO walks in to chat with the camera people.... I wonder if those two things are related? JMO

I feel like I am being censored for an error made by the defense team. I didn't know that when there was a sidebar it was a free for all to be talking and moving around the courtroom. I have never seen that before in a trial. Maybe a whisper here or there but not all this.

Maybe KN should "have a seat."
