Wow I sure fell behind... still haven't finished reading the closed thread but wanted to bring forth some links re the memory card and date questions before I lose them. Basically my question now is who owned the DSC-W7? I tried looking for pics showing JA with any cameras, found a few with the Canon, none that I could id as the Olympus(no idea where that info had originally come from or how accurate it was) but did come across a pic of her with Leslie Udy that looks like either a small silver camera(the DSC-W7 is silver...as are some Olympus models) or a cellphone in her left hand. I recommend going directly to the jpg link as the first one gets quite graphic.

These charts show that in fact the same memory card recovered with TA's camera could have been used in the still unknown holder of the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W7 digital camera that was apparently responsible for some of TA's flickr pics from Oct '07(no idea how you can tell that, was forum info). The only qualifier is that the DSC-W7 has to use an adaptor.

This is a list of all the accessories available for the DSC-W7, see the memory cards, just remember it needs an adaptor shown beside the second one in the list ( MSXM2GS 2 GB MEMORY STICK PRO DUO MEDIA).

This is a very detailed review on the DSC-W7, sounds like it was a great little camera, especially for an aspiring photographer.

This explains about date manipulation in the older DSC-W7 where I think the "photo shoot" pics could have originated.

This is the date manipulation info listed for TA's Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H9, sounds the same as for the DSC-W7(to me anyway).

I find it entertaining that Nurmi filed this motion on Wed the 26th hoping people would be ruminating about it through the long weekend yet no one picked it up until today.

Maybe his fan base was on vacation and no one else took the bait?

  • #183
I thought Nurmi was the one wanting oral argument and I thought it was about dismissing the DP because the killer can't adequately defend herself.

Witnesses have to testify in open court. That's how it's done. If they choose not to then they are either off the witness list or subpoenaed. Ensure the witnesses they will not be photographed while testifying; if they still refuse to appear, subpoena them. If the person from out of country refuses to appear let him testify by phone--or borrow one from Anthony and use Skype or something similar. Whatever, just get on with things!

I hate that this thing is getting way more complicated than it has to be because as I see it, it has gotten that way mostly because the DT know that the judge is a sucker for whatever slime they throw at the wall. It's a disgusting waste of taxpayer money. Arias is guilty of a cruel, premeditated murder; let's get on with deciding her penalty for crying out loud.

BBM He was. He was in New York for the holiday apparently!

Gayla, the co-worker of CMJA. Hmm.

CMJA sent her 2 postcards from Estrella, one ending with "I love you, dear friend!" Gayla sold at least one of the postcards for $75 within 24 hours of receiving it.

She is very aware of the publicity and seems very willing to capitalize on it......no shrinking violet there.

  • #186
With all this nonsense about her being forced into silence by the Constitutional rights of every citizen, sorta sounds like there is no way possible for the killer to have a fair trial. Jeepers...maybe they should just let the killer go free because everyone on her team including the judge want proceedings to continue in privacy. Dang! Everything was going their way until that pesky Constitution entered in!

---------

OK, that's some snark from me, because I am extremely angry at the system that allows the kind of nonsense we are seeing, and have seen for awhile now, in this case. I hope y'all know I am in no way advocating for this cruel heinous lying torture killer going free.

Apparently Marc and Travis met at a Family Event hosted by Bishop Vernon Parker. This info is from court chatter, were you can read more. It has been said that Marc approached the DF team when he came to the U.S. for a wedding. It has been said that Marc likes the limelight. Vernon Parker, he is a witness for the prosecution, correct?

That makes me chuckle. What kind of "dear friend" (a typical off-sounding Jodi-ism) immediately profits from the other "dear friend"'s notoriety? In fact, their friendship, or "friendship," seems appropriate: two people brazenly using one another to their own ends. Pathetic, really.

BTW: Writing the above, I realized how discussing CMJA often forces me to use quotation marks around certain words (as well as parenthetical comments!). So many words take on sinister connotations when discussing her, forcing me to try to distance myself by quarantining them in quotation marks. Such is Jodiworld.

From last thread:

The state never really changed from a gunshot first theory, because it never committed to that in the first place. Sure, in the early days Flores' may have had some rough and ready notions, but at that time actual sequencing was largely irrelevant. It sufficed that it could be proven that Arias had shot, stabbed and cut Travis' throat. However, as the trial itself loomed on the horizon, sequencing became important as a potential tool for assessing/discrediting Arias' self-defense story, and establishing cruelty. It's only then that Martinez committed to a sequence - based on the actual medical evidence and expert opinion provided by Dr. Horn, which, incidentally, defense wasn't able to refute.

I don't recall anyone presenting a firm opinion in court on whether it was a head or hand or something else. But my memory may be failing me on that one.

There's almost two minutes (1'46") between the sitting in the shower photo and the dragging photo, which seems enough?

Maybe he's not holding it up. Maybe Arias is. Maybe her other leg is supporting it...?

I'm not sure if this answers the question, but the pics are flipped the right way up for display purposes. Besides, the lens is still taking the same picture, regardless of whether the surrounding camera body is up the right way or not. If that makes sense!

Gunshot first theory:

"Alexander took a shower, and prosecutors say Arias took a picture of him, then pointed a .22 caliber handgun at his head and pulled the trigger. Court records indicate Alexander remained conscious. Arias then allegedly stabbed him, repeatedly."

http://www.abc15.com/news/region-so...ills-boyfriend-travis-alexander#ixzz2GGVewuHs

And...

"The facts of the case are also subject to change. As recently as Dec. 4, less than a week before jury selection began, Martinez stunned the defense team in open court when he announced a new theory of how the crime unfolded that contradicted everything said in the nearly four years it took to get the case to trial.

According to court records, including writings by the judge, Arias' account and a sworn deposition by the Mesa police detective who investigated the case, Arias first shot Alexander in the head with a gun she probably stole from her grandfather. It was a non-fatal wound that limited his ability to fight back as she stabbed him 27 times and slit his throat.

But in a court hearing on Dec. 4, Martinez said that Arias first stabbed and killed Alexander and then fired a bullet into his dead body, a scenario that, if true, would paint the murder as cold and calculated and not as the kind of sudden passion that could lead to a second-degree murder conviction."

I'd have to look through the Minutes to see if I could find the 'court records' mentioning this, wish I could find what I read a week or two ago, think it was a motion by JM detailing the gunshot first but I won't swear to it, I was looking for JA's arrest report and went through lots of docs hoping to find that (but never did).

You have to count from the ceiling picture (5:31:14, as that is when the prosecution says the attack began), until the pant leg pic (5:32:16) 1 minute and 2 seconds, I don't believe that's enough time for 27 stab wounds from shower to sink/toilet area and down the hallway to bedroom and throat slashing and dragging him from the carpet onto the tile floor.

If that's the back of his head, nothing is holding it up, it's in full view with nothing touching it and the neck is visible (if this is what they say it is).

The camera's taking the same picture upside down or right side up, sure, but it's not on the floor.

I imagine you all have already seen this... But...

http://www.foxnews.com/us/2014/12/0...oxnews/national+(Internal+-+US+Latest+-+Text)

JODI ARIAS'S LAWYERS SAY 3 WITNESSES ON HER BEHALF WON'T TESTIFY IN OPEN COURT

(More at link above...)

Wow! THREE witnesses for poor, poor Jodi won't testify on her behalf in open court...

:violin:

IIRC Juan said, during arguments, that there were two, possibly three witnesses for JA and a couple of affidavits. This was before Dr. Fonseca testified. That would leave one or two witnesses after Fonseca. So now they are coming up with three? I assumed one of the remaining was the Prison expert. Are they rabbits? Multiplying before our eyes? Or is JA just a liar?
I believe Nurmi has always been deceptive but now I am beginning to think he learned a few tricks from the mistress of deceit!

I always thought it looked like his chin was resting on his chest. JMO.

BBM - Hi Steve, what are you refering to? Why would it be less secure?

There is an entire industry, both within and without the legal profession, dedicated to overturning DP convictions, with sympathizers in positions of decision making ability. For example, the judge that presided over one of Katiecoolady's sisters' killers appeal.

I've wondered the same, the hair looks too dry for ~2 minutes out of the shower, like maybe it's her hair hanging down, or it just looks like hair and is something else. I really want the originals released so at least we can see what JM sees and not just third hand copies that leave much to the imagination.

Of possible interest: Juan Martinez was to go to Sacramento to interview the NZ witness on October 11 or 13. No notice the trip was cancelled ever appeared.

On September 2, at 9:00 a.m. the State had an appointment to interview an Arias expert, who will not author a report. This post dated an interview between Arias & Fonseca that occurred at the end of August. You will recall Arias wanted Fonseca admitted to her jail cell in secrecy at a much earlier date. (Yeah, I'm sure the jail wants individuals sneaking into the premises.) The jail refused admittance and Fonseca agreed to reschedule. Then Arias wanted to evaluate what they covered, causing a second delay. Game of shuffleboard, isn't it!

How I wish JSS would look Nurmi/Arias straight in the face and say "if your witnesses are not prepared to testify in open court should we take it that you rest your case?" Come on JSS, you are meant to be in control here, stop this circus. Either they witnesses testify in open court or that's it. We know CMJA is clutching at very bent and broken straws, it's time it stopped.

As for CMJA being scared of the death sentence, I don't think that's it at all. What CMJA is scared of is isolation. 23 hours confined alone to a cell, no audience, no court rooms, no Willmott to smile at her and pat her arm, no cameras. She won't be queen bee on death row, she'll be locked away to rot in a dark, hot cell, with no-one to tell her stories and lies to, no-one to impress with her "singing voice", or photography (mediocre at best) or her middle school class art. CMJA is much more afraid of not having the public gazing at her, other prisoners fawning over her and being stuck alone with her warped mind than anything else.

BBM Your second link is quite interesting, I thought JA's pc was broken beyond retrieving anything....

Despite media portrayals, Arias was not the only sexual instigator in the relationship. On Arias' computer, Nurmi and Willmott found an instant-message photo of Alexander's penis that he had sent early in their relationship and a request for her to send photos of her breasts, which she did. On their phones and computers were texts and e-mails

As for TA's head being held up, I was under the impression that JA may have used the sheets or towels kind of like a sling to assist in pulling him back to the bathroom, though with all the water and likely blood that was on the floor(copy paper box stains) perhaps that was enough to facilitate her being able to move him on her own, though I know it's quite hard to pull someone just by gripping their wrists. As for not being enough time? I dunno, how fast can you stab anything when in an anger/adrenalin fueled frenzy of hate? That's assuming that much of those wounds weren't done after he was already unconscious from loss of blood/shock and back in the bathroom, the head shot was just insurance imo.

Okay legal people, I just can't wrap my head around this. Do these people (Nurmi, Willmot) have no shame and no pride whatsoever? At some point do they not stop and realize how foolish all of this is, how much of a joke this is? Do they lay in bed at night and worry about what laughing stalks they have become? I realize it takes a special person to defend a murderer, but do they loose all common sense, dignity and pride?
