He looks terrified to me in that picture. His mouth is dropping open , and his eyes look wide open, and I almost wonder if is right arm is coming up in defense mode.

He does. The shower stall is very small although it appears to be spacious in some photos. I used to have a similar one in my previous home and although it was bigger than Travis' shower it was still too small for my taste. She really had him cornered. His right fist seems to be clenched and about to make a move. I think that she suddenly appeared with her gun. The next photo of Travis is with him sitting down. I do hope Juan goes through each photo with the jury. I've never seen anything like it in my life.

If I had to guess when he first notices Jodi, that would be the picture I would have to pick out.
The sequence and time stamps gets very confusing.

I know there has been lots of discussion in the past on these. That particular one I had never really noticed much before until now. Unless I had forgotten about that one.

If she started to order him to do things in the shower once he spotted her with the gun or knife, then that could explain some of his poses and positions.

The soft focus could be the result of holding the camera in one hand. You have to press the button in order to fix the focus and then click. It appears it was clicked before fixing the focus. It wouldn't surprise me if she wanted a picture of his face when she attacked. Shudder!

I always thought that too. I think she did want pictures of her actually killing him. There is just too many photos near the point of attack. She is truly evil sick murderer.

If I remember correctly most of these photos had been deleted on the camera and LE was able to recover most of the deleted ones from the camera. Perhaps not all the ones she took were able to be recovered by LE. My guess is she actually took even more photos during her actual attack and when it was all over and she started to clean up the place then she decided to go ahead and delete them because she began to get afraid of getting caught with evidence.

There was that 1 photo down the hall where we see her boot and I always wondered if there were more before that as she was dragging him. I think she dropped the camera right at that point and it took a picture of her boot when she dropped it. Some people think it was already on floor and she kicked it by accident that made the camera go off.

Anyway, just so glad LE was able to recover them because the boot one helped prove she was present during the murder. Her pant leg had the same type of pants she was known to have.

Thanks Steely Dan. Yep, I think she did want mementos of her crime.

As sick as it may sound she could have shot him while he slept. But that wasn't enough. She wanted him to suffer. She turned his own shower/bathroom into a torture chamber. How can you torture someone to death, slander his name, show no remorse and then have the nerve to believe that you're entitled to life?

I did read somewhere she said she was pregnant with his baby, but miscarried.
Not sure if it was her journal, or one of travis' or her friends

I believe this could be proved/disproved by a gynecological examination: it would be easy to find out if she was ever pregnant.

The other, and more important reason that I am writing to you is regarding our friendship. You have been a wonderful source of information on many levels and I appreciate your insight and perspective. I'm glad that we met, and I'm glad we are friends. But after considering a few aspects of our friendship, such as the conversation we had the other night revisiting the dream you had to the hug we exchanged at the last AFT in Anaheim. I think we should re-think our conduct toward each other. I know that between you and me those things are simply gestures of a functioning friendship between a couple of single individuals. Up until recently I've considered myself single, and I never would have considered it to be inappropriate or even given it a second thought. Although I'm not married and I'm not Travis' girlfriend.

I haven't watched all the interrogation tapes but I've been reading the transcripts (thanks TxJan1971!) and boy, are they revealing! Two things struck me: 1. JA rambles on and on with lots of trite details but when asked whether Travis was expecting her on June 4, 2008 she is unable to answer him.

DF: What happened when you left? Why did you go the other way?

But, I wonder was she practicing on Daryl? Getting a feel for what a man would do if you surprised him in the shower with a camera?

Maybe I've just forgotten, but do we know who was taking care of Naps all of those days before Travis' body was discovered ? Someone had to feed and water him and let him out to use the bathroom. It's just always struck me odd that the roommates didn't wonder where Travis was, they thought he would just leave for Cancun and not have someone take care of his dog ?

- At the one-hour mark is when he sprung exhibit 205 (slashed throat) on Lisa. I don't know whether he did it more to remind the jury why they were there or to tweak the defense, but JW's incoherent objection was priceless.
- Then watch at 1:14 for another priceless moment while the jury is out. Juan asks Lisa a question she wasn't sure she could answer due to previous rulings - what had happened to cause Travis to send her a certain text. Lisa looks at the judge and before she can answer, KN says, "I'm gonna object." Juan says, "That's not his witness," and JW says, "Well then I'm objecting." Heckle and Jeckle at their finest.
- Just after that we get to hear KN whining about Juan's "stunt". JSS: "The motion for mistrial is denied."
- Desiree Freeman was useless. She remembered Travis mad at JA, but seemed to be in a fog for everything Juan asked about.
- Daniel Freeman was fair. He reported what he saw but in the end said it wasn't anything any couple wouldn't have happen.

- Five minutes in is when the video of JA laying all over Travis's lap is played, bring her to (fake) tears.
- Deanna starts at 56:15.
- Around 1:06:45 seems to be the first time JA looks up at her, when Deanna mentions that she was ready for marriage but he wasn't.
- The other time she looks up is at 1:13 when Napoleon is mentioned. When Deanna says she has him now, JA gives this little grin. Is it fond memories of Napoleon? Or maybe more like, "Too bad I didn't kill you too." Creepy.

- If you forgot what a piece of scum KN is, jump to around 33:30. JA really gets into it.
- Then he goes into Travis's parents, apparently solely to inflict misery upon Sam and Steven, since it had nothing to do with this witness. I swear at about 39:45 JA steals a glance Travis's siblings to make sure they are suffering. She's a complete monster.
- KN closes with a flare of non-class at 42:20. Thankfully Juan points it out for the jury's benefit, in case they didn't get what a piece of trash he is. KN follows up with classlessness at 48:00. Slimebag.
- Two key jury questions for Melendez at the end: on the computer and pictures on the camera. JA only deleted the pictures taken while she was there.

What I find most interesting about the shower pics is how they go from him 'taking a shower' to the last few, starting with the one where he's turning around:

5:27:18


10 seconds later his arm is raised (5:27:28)


And then 1 minute and 26 seconds (5:28:54) he's getting into a sitting position


And then 18 seconds later (5:29:12)


To 8 seconds after (5:29:20)


All the pics are shot very close in time after turning except when he's getting into the sitting position, close to a minute and a half, plenty of time for her to demand and he to acquiesce, seeing he had no other choice.

Way too hard to tell what caused those marks but "could be" from a stun gun.
