Retrial for Sentencing of Jodi Arias - 12/19-1/5 Break

IF she ever had a stun gun and IF she used at on murder day, it rests with the other weapons. In the desert, or tossed in at Hoover Dam, wherever she disposed of evidence.

I do not fall into the trap of believing something just because Jodi journaled about it. She could not speak without inserting a lie even to herself. But I will not completely discount that she had other weapons with her besides her knife and gun. She may not even have used all weapons that were available to her but I bet she disposed of all of them.

And then proceeded to procure some new ones.

Thing is- Jodi, like Casey Anthony intersperses bits of truth within her lies. Why else would she proactively journal about having a stun gun if she didn't think it could be used against her???

Also, and I'm too tired to multi-quote right now,( been busy working alot lately), but I really think those vertical white lines on the three shower photos are just too jaggy to be reflections from the flash. I really think it's more likely they are arcing from a stun gun. They are a very bright white.

The BMW info is from BK site. It's really too bad that the Hughes won't be testifying. There's so much they could clear up and add.

I really think that Nurmi knew how damaging they could be, but also knew how judgemental they could be, and deliberately neutralized them before trial one.

According to the Hughes, he deliberately misled them at best, lied to them at worst, by saying the DT had proof TA was a pedophile. Nurmi was referring to the forged pedo letters.

The problem is, Sky believed him and said so in writing. JM can't call either one of them as a result. Its too damning that one of his closest friends believed him capable of such a vile thing. For whatever reason they used to explain thensekves after the fact.

Another CMJA revenge completed, to use his best friends against him after his death.

BBM. That's just it, even though the Hughes's were Travis's "close" friends, because of the damage they did when they called him an abusive sociopath in their e-mails to Travis because he wasn't marrying Jodi, their credibility is shot. There's no way Juan can use them now.

No I don't think the defense is trying to make this connection at all. It just shows how ridiculous the connection is. She claimed he was a pedofile for young boys and continued to have anal sex with him to "cure" him. Really? GMAB.

I don't think the Hughes email plays a big factor in mitigation so it's probably best to leave them out at this point. The defense can continue to do damage with their words. I do believe Sky testified in the main trial and they got a guilty verdict so that's good enough. Everyone who followed that trial knows it's all BS and that they were meddling friends who regret it now. Not sure the jury even remembers there was an email at this point, their minds are probably numb, so why bring in the Hughes to remind them?

Everything they have done to this point is for number 5 and 6 on her list and it all blends in together. The jury get the idea. It's whether they choose to believe it that counts I guess.

Her own "secret" testimony which was cut short was for number 4. Looks like Dr. G was given instructions to work on that one too.

So far they have presented evidence for numbers 4,5 & 6. Pretty much all lies though. So if the jury sees it that way they can throw that out.

Not sure about the "diagnosed as PTSD" one. I think Dr DeMarte will squash that one. The BPD? Yeah...so what? I think number 9 is a bust too.

The age? Means nothing. 27 is not a young girl.

No prior criminal history? That should never be a mitigating factor in a murder trial such as this. We all know she's done other criminal things, just not been caught. And for her first big one...it was a doozy.

,the only body of water between Mesa and Las Vegas, other than Hoover damn
. I lived in Williams for many years and fished in this lake, Lake McLellen. It is 10 feet from the highway and has a road leading from I-40 a short way around to the back of the lake. I wish someone with a dive suit would check it out. JA never said what route she took out of Mesa, but this would have been the only interstate from Phoenix to Kingman. If you were trying not to be noticed, would you take a 2 lane (rt 93) or an Interstate?

Good thought, but even if the murder weapons were recovered at this point, how would it help Juan? We've already gotten the murder conviction.

I've thought she either threw them in the Grand Canyon, Hoover Dam, buried them in the desert, or maybe even started a bonfire. She had plenty of time to dispose of them before she showed up at Ryan Burn's house. Could she even have tossed them in Lake Mead??

I'm especially looking forward to Dr. Demarte's testimony in this penalty phase. Her testimony will have to be geared to help the State get the DP. Juan's star witness is going to make a big impression on the jury...gargantuan!
