What really infuriates me is how little respect JA's witnesses have shown the court and prosecution. And they are getting paid to be a**h****. I hope Juan has a great support system and an iron stomach, how he puts up with these fools I will never know.

We need to send him some flowers and some special treat.....asap.

His is a lonely job. Notice that he's not up there with a ton of support. He's by himself. I really admire the man.

IANAL but I will try to answer your question . . .

If you receive a subpoena you are court ordered to show up and testify (and if it says Deusus Tecum (sic?)- that means bring all your paperwork with you)
If you don't show up you could be in contempt of court.

The judge could order you to testify and if you refuse they do have the power to put you in jail for a limited time

Not sure what could happen if Jodi refuses to testify - the Judge could find her in contempt and then Sheriff Joe gets to deal with sanctions maybe?

All right except jodi cannot be made to testify. If she has though and refuses to be crossed, I believe all her testimony would eb thrown out and the jury instructed to disregard it.

I believe jss would strike the previous testimony of cmja if she refuses to testify.

Yup!

Nothing notable, really, just the expert mitigation witness berating the prosecutor, refusing to answer his questions, and then issuing jury instructions from the stand -- all the while the judge sits by and quietly listens.

You know, same ol' same ol'...

WTH? Issuing jury instructions? Please do tell. What was that about? What did she do?

Le sigh. I've finally caught up and I'm so thoroughly disappointed in the circus this trial has become. I'm also so disappointed in Judge Stephens for allowing this trial to turn into a three ring circus. I mean even her decision to allow Jodi to testify in secret is so far off the deep end. I can't believe for a second she believed her order would stand up to scrutiny. My heart really goes out to TA family tonight. This trial or retrial is such a hot mess.

Me too. I defended JSS all long the trial but the secrecy stuff? That's where I draw the line. Insanity.

I wonder why Juan didn't just say to her "How would you characterize what you said?"

I never ask an open ended question in cross. Especially of a combative, horrible woman like that one!

Perhaps the only thing missing is for JA to say that one of the ninjas was named Zenaida.

Or just downright vicious.

I go with your option. In tweets she comes across as repugnant. As a witness it's not just content that matters to jurors but demeanor as well. Personally I would be turned off by her lack of respect for the Court.

But, but, but . . . isn't jury duty part of being a citizen in a democracy?

I get where you are coming from, Hatfield. I really do. And I'm not trying to minimize your anger or disgust. Believe me, I feel those emotions, too--very strongly. But I'm often dismayed here on WS with all the Monday-morning quarterbacking and all the voices that say "just kill her, already."

We are rightly appalled by the crime and also rightly appalled by the murderer's obvious lack of guilt, remorse, or even basic shame for her heinous crime. But I think that we would also be appalled by a vigilante mob-mentality.

Democracy is difficult and even inefficient and time-consuming at times. But I shudder at an "efficient" justice system.

Whoa. My whole post was ONLY about the lack of seeing any consideration from JSS for the juror's service time as all these delays happen, and which I have seen other trials where judges do acknowledge and appreciate the jurors time and service. I even mentioned that it could be the tweeters are just not tweeting and maybe it did happen and we just did not hear about it.

Other than that, I am not sure why you brought up about vigilante mob mentality about "killing her" because I totally disagree with that and have not seen that here on WS at all.

I do think a lot of us are like minded in believing the self-admitted killer Jodi should get justice and since the DP is being pursued by the prosecuter then that is 1 likely outcome, especially with the horrendous defense team approach of attacking the victim and the victim's family, it would seem that the jury may not like that and may just give her the DP. A lot of people also feel LWOP would be justice as well for the self admitted killer and I have seen that expressed many times as well.

She might have told him she recorded it, but not at the time it was made!!! There's no way Travis would have gone along with it if he'd known she was recording it!

Agreed. He didn't know it at the time. She did something to betray his trust at least that's what he seemed to imply in their exchanges.

That'd do it, so would stealing his diaries, planting stuff on his computer-🤬🤬🤬🤬 or viruses, or going to the Bishop. She did many things to betray his trust.
Travis had her number- she was the WORST thing that ever happened to him, and wasn't far off from being an ax-murderer, and was a 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬/🤬🤬🤬🤬. It wasn't "abuse", it was true!!

If she were an unbiased witness she would have said Jodi told me she didn't know. Seriously, if someone sends you a text or email like that and you don't know you'll write back asking what you did. If you don't write back asking, then you must know. JMO

She even apologized for it and chastised herself. She knows what she did.

That's right I forgot about the bathroom lady. God Jodi really was a total nutcase about Travis.

Bathroom lady = Clancy Talbot

Clancy is between Chris Hughes and Travis

I've become close friends with Julie who is on the right...she remembered that incident very well. Thanks for the clarification TD!

What is the story? I don't recall that. TIA

Well, since no one else is reporting it, it does appear we got a bad tip. Too bad, but I guess it's still an option. Perhaps after his latest motion, Juan is just going to wait and see if the judge suggests subpoenas or some other course of action for those that can't be subpoenad.

Basically Clancy got wasted at that event and was kind of well, basically, falling down drunk and Travis was sort of helping her get somewhere and she was leaning on him/he was holding her up. Jodi perceived this as CLancy hanging all over Travis and cornered her in the bathroom confronting her not letting her leave bulleting her with questions about her intentions etc. Clancy is married btw.

I think it says a lot that JSS has lost your respect, Gitana, and AZL's.

She has every reason to worry about her job security if the two of you are any indication of AZ's legal community's opinion of her.

The rumor was actually dismantled over on JM's FB support page. I'm hoping its still an option too. :)

Add Catherine Hughes to that list. 30 yrs prosecuting murder trials, all DP trials at the end of her long illustrious career in AZ.

We wouldn't know if he's by himself or with a cast of thousands.

JSKS booted out the audio and video.

According to the tweets, she actually instructed the jury to disregard "Juan's style of questioning."

Others:

"Fonseca turns to jury and says this is him mischaracterizing what I'm saying"

"Fonseca just randomly decides to instruct the jury on what they should believe"

Is that the page that ripped off my photo and cropped me out of it claiming it was one of theirs? That would be "Gypsywoman" aka Mikal Anne aka another word I can't say on here without getting in trouble.
