Or she could just deny them flat out, iirc she doesn't have to hear oral arguments on every single motion they make. I think in almost every other court room in America, this trial could've concluded with a full weeks worth of testimony. I have also read other blogs from other seasoned prosecutors, and members of the bar who really really think JSS Lost control and/or started drinking the cmja kool aid 3 years ago.

If I'm a juror I just throw out anything she'd said.

Follow up question: Have you?

Not for a few decades is my guess and she's never had an orgasm in a loving relationship. Maybe she's never had a loving relationship, or even a relationship. I doubt she even sees patients. You know that after one visit, they aren't coming back to see her.

We don't know yet, everything is being done in secrecy. JSS did not give an explanation and it is unknown if the dismissed juror is able to speak to the media. Seems we are stuck in a holding pattern with this court withholding information.

Ironic that JSKS has 'closeted' her courtroom, JA has 'closeted' her witless list and witlesses themselves while her
'expert witless' blames TA for 'closeting' JA.

The judge's and DT's hypocrisy is out of the closet.

On the weekend, one of our WS wrote about her thought that the timid witnesses are actually afraid of the prosecutor not rabid members of the public. It was a reasonable suspicion, many of us can agree with. (Tried to find her post with our search but nothing came up.) Naturally, the witnesses would be loath to admit this, maybe even to themselves.

I agree Tuba. Patti W? refused to testify the first time around because of what JM was armed with to impeach her with. I'm trying to imagine what goes on in the minds of JA's Mother and other family members though. If they aren't willing to go out on a limb to save Jodi's life, that would mark me as a juror.

Thats probably it.

One thing that really irks me about what the DT is doing is they are bringing in all kinds of testimony that IMO has absolutely nothing to do with what is supposed to be mitigating factors for the sentencing phase. They are basically bringing up all the same testimony about Travis being a bad person that we already heard during the guilt phase.

AZlawyer warned us that this would happen although I think Juan has made many good objections and they seem to get ignored by JSS. I cant remember the type of objection Juan keeps trying to use but it relates to "no basis" or "no context" or something like that.
When I see the tweets about Juan's objection, I keep saying to myself....Yes please JSS grant Juan some of these valid objections so that we can stop some of this nonsense testimony. So long as they are valid objections, they should be granted. I honestly think JSS is so afraid of her role that she is giving the DT way too much leeway in this trial and it is at least one of the causes of why we keep going down rabbit holes and this trial taking so long.

It is very noticeable when the witness + DT discussions get so bizarre and so far off track on sex, sex of other people even like Deanna, and just sheer nonsense testimony.
If some of Juans objections were granted I think it would help speed things along.

I wish Juan could bring in the interview tapes of her family, stating they received calls of help for cmja and they were worried about her mental health. It wasn't Travis friends contacting HIS family about his mental state, on the contrary it was cmja who MONTHS and MONTHS before the murder had such alarming behavior that her FRIENDS contacted her estranged parents to try to get them to help her. Jodi was a ticking time bomb and was a danger to a great many people and it could've been any man not just TA. I TRULY believe she would have murdered somebody else if she hadn't met Travis. She is just a rare form of evil that fortunately doesn't occur often in society. I also personally believe the murder pre meditation predates the May 28th robbery, I believe she was simmering on the plot for quite some time and the events that occurred on 5/26 literally was the last nail in that coffin. What she alludes to as the proverbial cutting of strings with scissors in her diary she physically acted this out on the day she brutally murdered him. She planned on killing Travis for a very very long time IMO

Would subpoena show on the Maricopa docket website

No it shouldn't. You typically don't see subpoenas or discovery type documents filed and put on the docket. You will sometimes see motions to quash a subpoena though.

Well, I sure do feel for the family; travel is not easy to manage and they have to feel like volleyballs about now with all the back and forth they've had to do.

Still, I hope that is the reason they were upset. Thinking of all the carp that has gone down in this trial I do not want to entertain the idea that some ruling (or whatever) has been made that they disagree with but have zero control over. And it was tweeted that the killer kept stealing glances at the sisters after they all came out of chambers--that scares me a little; if they were upset or angry and killer was shamelessly gawking at them, it could mean that once again something happened in killer's favor. Barf.

It truly is hard to comprehend how strong this one family must be to not have had a complete emotional breakdown by now. I sure don't know how they endure the mind and emotional torture they have suffered. Imo, Arias is trying to kill them too.......little by little......breaking their heart a little more each day. Still enjoying thrusting that 'knife' into their hearts everyday.

I think they had to be furious by the abhorrent conduct by the so called expert so they were probably already mad enough to spit nails as they should be. It was tweeted before Juan went into this meeting he looked very upset or angry. I think this juror may have written something disrespectful about Juan and that shows bias since at this juncture they are to remain neutral until the end of the sentencing phase. A lot of the questions aren't asked for various reasons but much can be learned from the ones that only the Judge and Attorneys get to see.

In all the years I have watched cases never once have I seen one conducted like this. The DT experts whether BN or MF have absolutely no couth or knowledge of courtroom decorum. They seem to pride themselves by testifying in this most offense manner possible. Never in another courtroom have I seen a Judge sit there like a knot on a log and let the expert be so utterly disrespectful to the Prosecutor or even to a defense attorney for that matter. Yet here, its a free for all in JSSs courtroom. MF acts like she is a brawler instead of an elderly so called professional expert. Whoever heard of an expert refusing to answer questions asked of them and uses the childish immature pouty reason of 'nope, I just don't want to do it' and that is acceptable to JSS? WTH.....doesn't she realize she has a role to fulfill and that is to control her courtroom at ALL times?

I truly thought I had seen the most ridiculous testimony ever when I had to hear combative ALV but she doesn't hold a candle to MF. From the tweets I read from MFs testimony it is like she is a full blown narcissist herself and may be a little psychopathic as well since she seems to want to blame Juan for her own obvious ineptness. She refused to answer because she was never going to admit those are the things SHE DID say. She wouldn't budge one inch and the way she did it was so repulsive almost to the point of being in the gutter.

The jury had to notice she was chatty Cathy when Nurmi asked her questions but when it came to Juan.. whom she knew had the facts, and the hard questions... then she clammed up like a pouty little child. She acted like a spoiled unruly 2 year old. It is also is obvious (to me anyway) she is another 100% man hater. In the end she was nothing more than a hired gun to regurgitate that Travis was bad and Arias was the sweet taken advantage damsel in distress who can do no wrong. Dr. Demarte will be a breath of fresh air for she conducts herself professionally. I am sure she will not tell JW she cant remember something or refuses to answer any questions that may be asked.

I really thought I could endure this case all the way to the end but now I have my doubts. It is like watching the most sinister and evil thing taking place. It feels like all the evil has gathered into one place and jumped on a murder victim's grave over and over again and it never stops. It has to be beyond torturous for Travis' family. I think JA would like nothing better than for his entire family to be driven insane by the cruelty she subjects them to time and time again.

God, please... please.... support this family. No family should ever have to go through this much pain/torment and for this long by the very one that has already destroyed the one they loved dearly...........their rock.........their loving brother, Travis.

Everyone mix a strong drink, then let's talk about today.

Okay, it was a bad day testimony wise, we had to sit through several, hours of TA bashing. Nurmi and DR Sex said a lot of horrible stuff, but it's not stuff we haven't heard them spew before. I know some of you are worried about the juror questions, but I'm not. I think they were spot on. Pointed out the glaring differences in how TA was with Deanna etc. Patterns will show up in relationships, and they do in this case too, but not with TA. He was good to Deanna, he loved her, he slept with her but it was clean, vanilla sex. His friends knew he loved her. This is what the jury needs to know. Yes, it WAS different with Jodi because Jodi used the dirty sex to get what she wanted. The patterns are in her relationships. The anal, the stalking, the confrontations, the not being able to walk away. several of those questions pointed that out CLEARLY. It wasn't like that in Travis' past relationships, only in Jodis.
They also understand that the Hughes opinion of her was not the same at the end of the relationship as it was in the beginning. Another win for the prosecution. They also wanted to know if catching him viewing 🤬🤬🤬🤬 would change the relationship. The great doctor said YES, ABSOLUTELY. The biggest point of the day to me is that it changed nothing. She still chased him, she still had sex with him, she still wanted to be with him. Nothing changed. Don't lose faith. This is a long way from being over. They saw how unprofessional the DT is, and when JM brings on his experts, it's going to be a whole new ball game. Faith people, just have faith. And a strong drink, to get us through to the end.

Re BBM
I totally forgot about that. You are so correct that it would be good for Juan to bring this up to the jury.

This alone is very powerful and if the jury realizes that her own friends were trying to contact her own parents to get her help then they would realize this person was on a mission long before that dreadful day at Travis house.

I totally agree with your whole post and I agree she would have killed someone eventually. I even think she was about to kill a 2nd person after she killed Travis.
When she described buying that gun and how she was fixing to go on a trip with strange guys.

There is no telling how close she got to killing someone else. There are probably some lucky people out there that dont realize how close they got to being murdered by JA.

As I understand it you can show a psychopath footage of them doing something bad and they'll sit there and deny it. Your characterization of her as a psychopath might be fairly close.

It was amazing when she refused to admit she said something even after being shown the court transcript. She finally admitted it after saying "Oh, I see my name here now".

If there is anyone on the jury who takes a single thing she says seriously they need to have a neurological exam. JMO

I think that when Juan starts calling his witnesses the jury will remember that the trial is for JA not TA.

I remember feeling this exact same way in the first trial. Then Juan would get up and it was like the sun would start to shine and the birds would sing.

Unfortunately, we have to wade through the muck to get to the other side of the stream.

For anyone who skipped over dozens of pages from this afternoon, be aware that we had a :nuclear: bombshell :nuclear: today.

While Juan was relentlessly attacking Dr F, who was starting to crack from the pressure of having to relay instructions to the jury in lieu of JSS doing it or actually answering questions, KN was getting overruled on objection after objection. So he of course called for a timeout -- I mean a sidebar -- and JSS said NO.

No court tomorrow so everyone can recover from the resulting heart attacks and strokes.

So much for my suggestion the other day that a Mormon version of the courtroom drinking game would consist of downing a shot every time JSS turned down a sidebar request. I figured for sure that would be safe. Uh oh....

Defense expert witnesses are called 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 for a reason. They are almost always unworthy opponents in the sense that they don't get paid to tell the truth.

The challenge is to destroy their credibility, and THAT combat can be quite satisfying. You're right that Dr. F. did most of that work herself, but only because JM knew where to take her and how to play her.

I posted on the last thread about MF saying Travis thought of JA as a prostitute and 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬, and what irony it is that MF is selling herself for $$$.

Sorry about your day. It was frustrating here to say the least. What are your thoughts on the happenings today in court ?
