Retrial for Sentencing of Jodi Arias - Day 22

I have recently developed a theory regarding both the defense strategy and what JM was doing today. They are both way way off the wall.

1. JM's questions today that caused JW to object to what seemed like every single question. JM asked the questions he did and the way he did for the purpose of making the defense constantly object. Leaving the jury wondering what the defense is hiding.

2. Now this one is way nutty...we all know that it's the defenses job to do everything they can for their client, which without doubt this defense certainly has done including the constant motions. I put out here for your amusement or anger, but what if Nurmi is doing all this for another reason too. He's doing all this during trial so there will be very little if anything left to appeal regardless of the verdict. Remember, he's stated in court that he doesn't particularly like her much either.

Just some thoughts.

I must admit I have more than once entertained thoughts of your No. 2 above.

Dontcha know, it's all a huge conspiracy by the "haters".... seems they've even infiltrated the DT "experts"!

My favorite favorite part was Nurmi then asking for a mistrial becausd he objected to them using something that they couldn't get to play. He wanted a mistrial because Juan made an objection. Stahp.

Still trying to catch up, but when I read this I chortled out loud. Oh, Juan, I love you and your pursuit of justice. Bless you.

I loved this! And EF refusing to say that he knew who was on the tape and NOT taking anyone's word for it!

Like, You've got me here for misconduct but you want me to testify to something I can't verify??? LOL!!

Due to today's rulings, does that mean we won't hear anymore false computer tampering accusations against Flores or Juan ?

I doubt he's over it, just because judge ruled against him in toto today doesn't mean his closing won't make everything about that laptop sound as smarmy as he possibly can.

Another good day for Travis and for Travis' family. God bless Travis and Travis' family!

Okay, my euphoria is dying down...

Jodi has some nerve to ***** about a detective waking up a computer with a pencil somehow being a serious enough error that it justifies taking away the death penalty in a case where she stabbed, shot and slit the throat of her victim.

And Maria needs to lose her damn job. Smuggling things out of the jail for Jodi Arias. What kind of unprofessional BS is that?

And I just LOVE how everything was resolved between JW and JM (he even apologized) until the sidebars were made public. Then, suddenly it became something of such importance that it could affect juror's perception of her. Total nonsense.

And I find it hilarious how they whine about Detective Flores's wife tweeting trial commentary and "potentially reaching the jurors through media", when their own client sat down with plenty of media journalist to discuss her case before her original trial was even finished!

My favorite was throwing the prior defense team under the table.

I've wondered that too. And by brining all these motions now to where SS can rule on them by separate issue, I would think appeals would be much tougher to get.

Good day for the prosecution, imo. Also, it will be good to address other life matters for a few days and leave JA alone in her cell for a long weekend. But, don't forget, the DT still has "Sue" examining the hard drives, etc. we may not have heard the last of that issue. I feel for the jury, this is going on way too long. Hopefully they can hold out. See you all next week!

No kidding, all tweeters failed to mention that it was operating system files being modified/overwritten and not data files. Goodness, that makes such a difference. Sorta wonder why none of their experts ever bothered to explain the difference to the DT.

And "all pornographic files were intact even after the 2009 modification and what was erased was not that important" is certainly a far cry from "thousands of 🤬🤬🤬🤬 filed intentionally deleted by lead detective." What were they thinking with this mess.

So should we now take bets on how long it will be before Nurmi files his NEXT motion.

I am betting it is before Friday night. A new motion, this time against something Juan did today in court. Maybe because he referred to himself in 3rd person? Or maybe he will complain that Flores would not say he recognized the voice on the audio tape? LOL

I personally believe that JSS didn't write what she released today. I believe her staff did, after she told them her decision.

It's her ruling. She signed it. No doubt she has paralegals who did the research on the citings in the ruling as well. None of that makes it any less her ruling.

Thank Goodness this JOKE is almost over.

No doubt!

Or, they will come up with another date that computer data was changed/added/deleted/copied/not copied. And make a whole new motion on the same old, same old.

How in hell did the misconduct charge morph from 1000s of files intentionally deleted to Flores sneaking the HD out to download 🤬🤬🤬🤬???? Am I missing something??

Spaghetti splatter. Unfortunately for the DT, in reality most spaghetti thrown at the wall merely slithers down into an uncooked mess.

Exactly. If her staff wrote it, she earned that right to have staff that can do so. All judges have staff that do so. That is standard procedure.

I was right that the judge needed to add today's tetsimony to her final ruling.

She didn't need a whole lot of time, though, did she?

If the challenge is objectionable, the opposing party
has the right to object and the court will rule. In this case, the prosecutor has
zealously cross-examined the witnesses. The courtroom is open to the public. The
court cannot control what the public and media report about what they observe in the
courtroom.
The Court has stated the defendant may request accommodations be
made for witnesses who have concerns about testifying in this case. The Court has
indicated it is willing to consider creative ways to protect the privacy interests of
potential witnesses. For example, the Court has previously permitted the defendant’s
expert witnesses to refer to individuals by their relationship to the defendant without
using proper names.

From her ruling, bolded by me. This appeared on the next to the last page, page 15.

Looks as if JSS finally gets it. I wonder if she waited towards the end to actually inject it into the documents though, compliments of the AZ supreme court decision.
