I notice the dates of those motions go back to Sept. I question whether holding these motions so long has encouraged the DT to keep filing more, and of course once filed, JM has to work to respond to them. In his spare time, of course. I also remember an awful lot of disrespect directed toward the prosecutor & the lead detective allowed in the courtroom, in public hearings, filed motions - even accusations of illegal activity with little to no foundation. I remember that too many of the DT's accusations in motions are unsealed, while JM's replies often are. I remember JM practically begging for his lawful right to interview witnesses, and to make the DT follow the rules regarding notification - most of those were ignored or denied. Remember quite a bit of testimony the prosecutor wanted to present has been ruled against as being too prejudicial. I do also remember that the reason stated for unconstitutionally closing the court during a trial was not her right to testify, it was her right to present mitigation. I remember that originally JSS offered the DT various ways they could accomplish this, but she backed down when Nurmi growled. I remember too that a fair trial is supposed to be fair to all, not just the one that can file appeals, and that the State represents the people. I definitely remember there was a victim in this case, not just a defendant with revenge on her mind and a defense team that wouldn't know an ethic if it hit them between the eyes. A victim whose friends and loved ones sit there while this trial drags on and on due to mismanagement. Glad to finally see the rulings, but nothing is changed in my mind about how this judge has impacted this case. A case, btw, that should have been a slam dunk because of the savagery of the attack and all the evidence against the defendant - probably why they thought it was safe to be her first DP case. It wasn't. IMO.
