Well, the part of the opinion from case law JSS read, the judge may still use discretion for whether or not 1) the evidence is relevant and 2) whether the prejudicial effect outweighs the probative value. And she did. Because Juan made a good point - the purpose was not to assassinate character, but it was used for the alternative purposes of supporting Jodi's own answer that she has a problem with being rude and overbearing, and that the state should be allowed to show the other side of Jodi as opposed to the always passive and shy Jodi, AND that this consistency from close family members was used in part to form Dr. DeM's opinions.

Yes, I think so. It's a close question, because the jury might indeed start to consider her terrible character as an unauthorized aggravating factor, but IMO the defense opened the door to practically any "character assassination" of JA by JM by preposterously claiming that she was a sweet, passive young lady who wished only to please others.

Question for AZ Lawyer - once this phase of the trial is over and CMJA has been sentenced, do you expect that her current legal team would have much if any contact with her?

The best part is these family members are talking about years and years before the murder. No change because of Travis- Jodi Ann Arias- the true Jodi Ann Arias- the one alive and well and kicking at the defense table as opposed to the brutally stabbed and almost decapitated Travis Alexander who is now 6 feet under- thanks to Jodi.

What good character can a first degree cold blooded murderer have? I mean seriously?

The jury should know the truth about what kind of person she is/was even before Travis. It totally rebuts what the DT has tried to make the jury believe all along.
