I want the DP. JA may think she wins if she gets life.. But I bet that in 10 years or so with no appeals left she'll finally get it: that she'll grow old and die in prison after having to serve decades.

Actually I think LWOP would be her biggest nightmare. If she gets death then she'll get decades of appeals at taxpayer expense. If she gets LWP then she can be hopeful to maybe get out some day. But if gets LWOP parole then she doesn't get all the "free" appeals and she'll never get out. That's the worst outcome since she has to spend decades with no one to con but fellow inmates. No marriage. No riches. No TV time. Nothing.

You're right! But I think at first she'll gloat about not getting the DP and so she'll convince herself that she actually "won" in the end, conveniently forgetting that no jury was supposed to convict her.

Good morning. Thank you, again, to all of you posting tweets for us! I was in and out yesterday caring for a sick grandchild and your posts were the only way I could stay on top of this crazy trial.

Don't you wonder why CMJA wanted Nurmi off the case so badly, they seem like a perfect fit for for each other. They both seem to have a "passion" for all things sexual--Nurmi, by his choice of profession and CMJA based on her prior acts.

He appears to be more than willing to go along with her plan to smear Travis and gleefully participates in the twisted, sexual spin CMJA has weaved for her defense. IMO, they were made for each other.

As for CMJA wearing royal blue, I hope the Alexander's wear black for an entire week--in anticipation of her impending death sentence. Put it out on social media and let MDR run to her bestie with the reason they are wearing black. We all know CMJA has a whole, recycled, court wardrobe with plenty of black attire--so every time she wears black--it will remind her of what she has to look forward to and hopefully give the Alexander family a peaceful reminder that justice is coming for Travis--very soon.

I believe some jurors cannot phantom how Jodi dragged Travis back to the shower stall.

I call it ADRENALINE.

After seeing the autopsy and crime scene photos, they'll hopefully realize that it's not all that difficult to drag a naked body along a slippery tile hallway.

She'll gloat regardless of the verdict. As you say, if she does escape death row then she'll proclaim that she has won. If she does get the DP then she'll say 'Oh, death really is the ultimate freedom', make herself out to be a martyr, and then live off of the high of the never-ending appeals and extra attention. I do think that the public has a duty. It is our responsibility to make sure that once this trial is over that we don't give this criminal any more attention. She'll continue to do all sorts of things to seek our attention but we must close this chapter once and for all. Let us remember Travis Alexander (no more autopsy photos but as he was smiling and laughing with his loved ones) and his family. The very best way we can honor Travis is to not associate him with this vile criminal ever again.

I have had numerous patients with borderline pd over the years. JA seems to have some borderline traits but the narcissism and antisocial traits seem to be dominant. Unfortunately many MH professionals label any female patient who doesn't respond satisfactorily to their treatment "borderline."

I hate to see people with real and debilitating psychiatric illnesses vilified as bunny-boiling crazies with no conscience. Yes they can be hard to work with. If MH work was easy I wouldn't have had to go to school for so long to do it.

I think you're clear on what they're supposed to do. But jurors don't always behave rationally. If they somehow feel that the previous jury made a mistake, even though they're not allowed to even entertain that thought, they might let it influence them. They might not utter the words out loud, but might let it influence their decisions.

Yea but thats not their job, they were not the original jury and did not hear the whole thing. They need to do their jobs, I'm tired of juries not doing their jobs right.

Yep - we're moving on to the defense's case, so that ends the "facts" phase alright.... :thud:

I can't read the fuzzy DMs there, but who cares? Unless she was DMing a sitting juror, what is the news? There were all sorts of stories about these out during the original trial.

I think this choice by Nurmi suggests that JA will not be testifying (only allocuting). Trials are organized around witnesses, so he had to get it in through someone.



I agree she needs to exert more control over the courtroom, and the secrecy is IMO highly disturbing and inconsistent with AZ law. But she is not favoring the defense except when she's required by law to do so.





Actually, I think he could have, and JM should have objected. IMO the judge would have made Nurmi read it and just ask Flores questions. There's no reason a witness should be roped into play-acting with the defense counsel.

In the light of a new day, I refuse to believe that JM made a strategical error in not fighting all of that. He must have really wanted that sex tape in, and decided that Flores could handle the play-acting, role of 'religious expert' and providing speculative answers. I would love to know if JM is happy with yesterday's outcome.

Here's a tray of Comfort with some lemon wedges & a soda siphon. We have now discovered what we were "deprived of" in the past. The mental talents of Arias & Nurmi have combined & we are left to view the running polluted discharge of their convergence. Yes! Counsel and defendant have long been at war, a war that so raged it could not be concealed from the public, no matter how it harmed either of their causes. But as all courtroom observers have observed & informed us, a week ago and slightly more, they found a new understanding and congeniality. So what we see and hear now is what they produce when they cooperate. It may be ghastly to look upon but at least we can understand how we have arrived at this new low in suggestions, assertions, innuendos, smears & accusations complete with handy churn to keep it flying in all directions. Please, do have a drink of Comfort on me, erase the day's slime for now and then stiffen your resolve for next court day.

What I find most ludicrous is that the re-convergence has allowed the ramblings of the murderer's fans to worm their way, via JA, into Nurmi's head and out of his mouth: hollow point ammunition, DMs from Corinna Flores, etc..

I just can't get over the change in her looks.

Have you noticed how different JA looks from one photograph to another since 2006? To me, she looks like a whole different person in every new snapshot over the years. I almost can't recognize her from one shot to another. I'm surprised that folks who have had to pick her out from a photo lineup (e.g. the rental car guy) can recognize her. This is a true chameleon in that she takes on different looks, not just that she adapts her personage to the situation at hand.

Whoa. Great question I assume came from a juror. They picked up that JA must have showered in Travis shower after she killed him.

Shows she was calm cool and collective after the murder. Not someone that is horrified at what they just did.

And when Nurmi starts his spiel that JA was in a fog this will absolutely show its just another lie among a gazillion she has already told.

The jurors are still learning about this case so they may have plenty of questions about the guilt/innocence phase. That's okay. However, I do hope that they realize that they are supposed to accept the first-degree (premeditated) especially cruel verdict. Juan will remind them again and again that their only job is to decide life or death.

I am always worried about what a jury will do. Someone asked me how I could not be confident in this jury considering the gruesome photos that will be shown to them. I am skeptical of jurors. Period. And we have a high-profile case which brings up the issue of stealth jurors. I didn't think it was possible for a juror to look at the Travis' autopsy photos, listen to Samantha and Steven's impact statements and still feel sorry for Arias but Zervakos proved me wrong.

I am really grateful for the jurors from last time around who were brave enough to vote for death. I am amazed at how brave jurors 6 and 17 have been to stand by the family inspite of Arias' bullying behaviour. However, I'm not going to trust this jury until they come back with the right verdict.
