Victoria Police on Friday announced the search would be focused on the Mount Clear area, south of Ballarat, and would involve "a significant number of detectives from across Crime Command and other specialist commands, as well as local police".

Mount Clear is bordered by bushland on both sides, including an area known as Canadian Plantation, where emergency services had been searching for Ms Murphy.
