I have heard this guy's name mentioned actually i was kinda surprised to hear dawn Drexel dismiss him in the radio show so easilly. One thing that crosses my mind and it's pathetic I even have to think like this but the truth is Britanee by no fault of her own or any woman for that matter but Brit was so beautiful and any male she walked by was bound to stop and pay attention some with harmless intentions and unfourtunently some with very bad Intentions and It makes you really think that thier could be someone that no one has ever mentioned just some random that did this and that could be why while theres names out there It still seems like we never get closer. To me anyway it really feels like were no closer from the night it happened almost

  • #662
Yes that is true. It could be someone that has never been mentioned. The thing that really is scary is the fact that if she didn't have that cell phone nobody would have had any idea of where she went.

My only problem with this being the 14 locals even if only a few really had the true knowledge of what happend in the end. I just can't see them all being quiet surely if only by other friends back home they were all OMG what happend once they returned to school that 14 soon becomes 28 then 35 theres no way they all would be quiet if only to LE exspecially when they come back what is it like 12 hours from myrtle the fear would be gone about any reprecussion by who ever played roles in this . That's what leads me away from the so called 14 or whatever the number is..

I saw a true crime story about a woman who was killed and found naked in the snow. It lasted thirty years and a cold case squad reopening it in order to solve it. I believe about 14 people were involved and/or aware of the crime and were kept silent through fear.

I have no problem believing that these people could be kept quiet by threats. Especially when you factor in their ages. I think, at the very least, they know a hades of a lot more than they're talking about.

I hope that LE were aware of the address, It seems odd to have searched Sunset Apartments with all the publicity, and yet there has been nothing mentioned about the location on his speeding ticket.
It would certainly make sense to have taken a look there, just because there was only a day between RM moving into Sunset and Brittanee going missing?

  • #665
regarding the ticket issued to RM, where it states the location as being 16th north and north Cherry drive, does that mean that is where he was speeding, or could he have been speeding on the i17 and turned off maybe because the Officer was following him and the Officer eventually stopped him on 16th avenue North?

The fact that the speed limit was 30 mph (48Kmph) would suggest it was in a residential area. I would think the speed limit for Highway 17 would be 55 mph (88 Kmph) or higher. He could have been on Highway 17 and then turned off onto 16th Avenue North and starting speeding and was caught. Hard to say what direction he was going on 16th Avenue North.

Yeah exactly we know they searched the Sunset Apartment room #22. But I have no idea if they searched the other place on S Fraser Street. I have no idea if they searched RM's vehicle or Peter B's vehicle or not either.

I wonder if anything ever came of that room search..... I find it odd that back in August 2011, we all saw the pictures of LE and SLED examining his old room, and taking out all of those different items. We've seen pictures of the room after the search was performed, it was completely torn apart. Then randomly, over six months after the search was completed LE decides to let the public know that RM is officially considered a POI...not just a POI, but the prime suspect in the investigation. Did something come out of that room that could very well link him to Brittanee and her disappearance that just simply can't be released to the general public? Did they even get any evidence of worth out of the room, or are they just trying to keep her name in the news articles? It's just odd.

I never knew PB changed his story that many times... if that's the case, why have they stopped questioning him? Yes, I realize that he's hired the most expensive and well known lawyer in all of the Rochester area, but is that a good enough reason to just give up on questioning him? I don't think so. If he's innocent, his stories shouldn't be changing. I hate to say it.. but I'm not sure what to think about the trafficking theory. Wouldn't there be other girls to go missing? Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't believe anyone else has gone missing, never to be found. I don't understand how that would benefit him... he's clearly got all the money in the world, thanks to his parents, so what other incentive would there be? I think it's more likely that he himself did something to Brittanee rather than him plotting to get her to go to Myrtle Beach just so he could traffic her while they were there. JMO

I agree Christina691

Dont forget LE then added Crystal Soles to the mix in relation to RM. At a guess, I would say that LE were trying to up the pressure, but so far nothing.

THe trafficking thing is a stretch imo also, but, the behaviour of the so called friends is extremely odd to say the least.
I was always of the thinking that they maybe got out of there because of a link to drugs and were worried about that all being unearthed.

http://www.foxnews.com/us/2012/02/1...in-cold-case-disappearances-brittanee-drexel/

In the article above the following paragraph is included.

They also said Drexel was likely alive and with her phone when it gave off its last signal in Georgetown County. No activity was detected on her bank account since her disappearance and Vella said, “We don’t think it was a robbery.”

I have seen the statement of 'she was likely alive and with her phone when it gave off its last signal' in another more detailed article but cannot find it now. I think it might have 404'd. I think it was a SCNow article. I have been searching for it and can't find it. Why would law enforcement say that 'she was likely alive and with her phone when it gave off its last signal'? Was LE being hopeful or maybe there is something more to it and LE knows something we don't. Is there a possibility BD made an attempt at a phone call to get help? Is that why her phone gave off a signal as it pinged a cell tower at that specific point in time? If you had a couple of speed dial phone numbers programmed into your phone all you would have to do is push down on a number for a second or two and it would dial that speed dial phone number. You would have phone numbers you call often such as your boyfriend, a friend or your parents home phone numbers in Rochester. The time was 11:58 pm when it gave off it's last signal then for some reason the phone died or was destroyed as it no longer gave off a signal. Did something happen at this point in time?

See I was thinking the exact oppisite that they would be more inclined to talk because of thier ages specifically. They were all, or for the most part High schoolers I think werent they. I was thinking at that age rumors and secrets are all more the norm then say late 20's. But Hey Im a father but of a 9 year old girl and I guess with all kids weather it's highschooler's or not we gotta take the good with the bad and hope we have tought them to do the right thing and from shows or listening to her mom britanee seemed like she was a wonderful young lady so If anyone in that group did know i would like to think they would do the right thing by her..

The attitude of the girls who went with her is completely opposite of wanting to help at all. JMO

Oh I totally agree..But A little earlier I had said that I thought It would be hard with just the way teenagers are once they got back to the same school that Brit was also from. Iam sure it was everyone in the school saying OMG what happend everyone would be trying to get the real info and i had just thought with all the attention that group would be getting you would have thought someone whould have said something in the weeks after Im sure they all had other friends so the 14 turns in to who knows 50 more counting the friends to me it just seems unlikely with all that attention and other best friends wanting to know what went down that no one said a thing .If they new the whole story and where brit is right now..one or more would have told a friend it just would of come out JMO Though.

So.. wait a second. Does that mean he's attending the technical college?! Thank you for the link!! I was noticing something, though.. just kind of rambling off of Farmhand's previous comment. The address listed on that website is different than the location that was searched (once again).. this is what, the third address we've found out that he's occupied at one point or another? If you click the "Map" option on that website, you'll notice another body of water close to that address listed. Is this also a part of the North Santee River? I'm not familiar with the Georgetown area.. just Myrtle Beach & some of Conway. I'm looking on Google Maps to attempt to find the name of that body of water, and I'm seeing "Winyah Bay" & "Mud Bay". Has that water been searched? I have no idea if it's anything like the North Santee River (gators and all).

Thinking back on the traffic ticket-has there been any kind of theory established that would explain why he was in Myrtle Beach that day? (other than the fact that he could be tied to Brittanee, of course) Does he work in the area?? I know I read somewhere that he is a cabinet maker. Georgetown is still a good 30+ minutes from Myrtle Beach.. unless he works in the MB area, why else would he be there? It's just too ironic.. He moves in the Sunset Lodge just a day before she is reported missing, and he gets a speeding ticket less than 24 hours later in that exact same area that she was last seen?

Are any of you friends with Brittanee's so called "friends" on FB??

Yeah it would suggest he is attending the Technical College in Conway. If he is a carpenter he probably is working on some kind of certification in carpentry. The person or persons who kidnapped BD knew people were trying to contact her. The phone had to be getting calls or texts constantly. That is why it was so easy to track the phone to the Georgetown area. The person or persons might have even gone through the phone looking at the texts and phone calls. He knew people were looking for BD and that the people attempting to contact BD knew something was wrong. I would guess he went back to MB thinking someone might have seen him kidnap her and went to that spot to see if LE was conducting a search or investigating. He wanted to see if there were any goings-on. That is also probably why he drove his motorcycle versus the vehicle he used to kidnap her. He might have been afraid someone might ID the vehicle, wanted to be careful. The other addresses and bodies of water I would think would still be within that cell phone zone that everyone is interested in.

Dont forget, it was said the cell phone was going straight to answer machine, so it is likely that whoever took BD, were not aware of all the calls and texts at that time.
He/they, may have checked later, but, if as it seems, that the phone was taken off BD at the time of abduction, then he/they turned it off, would they then turn it back on and (possibly in their minds) risk sending out a signal as to the location.

LE will know exactly where that phone was right up until its last ping near or at the Poleyard.
I will bet that the phone stopped for quite a lengthy period somehwere between Georgetown and the Pole Yard, possibly the reason why LE were/are so interested in the area around Sunset Apartments.
What we have to hope, is that they have searched RM other property because that would seem by its isolation, to offer a better location for an abductor than Sunset Apartments which have many rooms very close to each other and would appear to be more likely to attract attention.

Christina691,
regarding the work and RM, remember it was a sunday when he got the speeding ticket, unlikely he would be going to work imo.
You got me thinking though, why would he be in the area?

Farmhand has got a point maybe checking to see what was going on etc, but there is another possibility that we may be missing, maybe he was going to check on BD?

Anyone have any info on G/F residence for example?
I know there are photos around of RM and G/F at the beach, anyone know the beach where they were from?

That is a interesting idea. But why then take her to the Georgetown area to begin with? The photos posted in Facebook by the one GF are from June/July 2011. I don't see anything from 2009. I think she is from Georgetown. Some of the photos are at the Hard Rock Cafe. That Hard Rock Cafe is in Myrtle Beach.

Farmhand, I dont understand what you mean about taking her to Georgetown?
I was just thinking out loud really, but if she was in the surfside area, where he was stopped the next day, he wouldnt have needed to take her to Georgetown, Im saying could he have been going to check on her near to where he was stopped for the traffic violation.

I Dont think it matters anyway, I just rechecked the cell tower pings that we know of and there was a ping in Surfside at about 9.27, but it kept moving too fast to have stopped for any real length of time in that area.

I did find something interesting though,
I read back a little through the thread here and saw a list of RMs vehicles, although it doesnt state a Harley it does state 3 vehicles including a white GMC truck.
This has been bugging me for a while, when I watch the "disappeared - secret journey" programme on youtube, especially part 2, there are so many sightings of a white pick up truck on there, when the actress is walking down the street and so on. There is also a white pick up coming towards the camera on the traffic camera.

Wondering if this is purposely done? But if it was why not make an appeal for sightings of a white pick up?
