Going back to mid-January (thread 7), a poster claims some acquaintances know that a break was made in Britt's case and that LE had been on scene near a barn for some time. When more develops, it'll be interesting to see how near to this area the case is solved. The alleged barn was in Charleston county, and the poster claimed that their source had heard a person confessed.

Nothing on Britt's aunt's FB page yet about any arrests - and she has been posting all the news as she gets it. I'm afraid to ask her about the "in custody" article; she's in so much pain already.

♥Prayers♥

I had completely forgotten about that! Thanks for bringing that back to the forefront!

I kinda thought the same thing about the "person in custody" article. Thought I'd post it anyway.

I just read an article that mentioned the sunglasses that were found matched those that Brittanee was seen wearing in a photograph taken before she lef tfor MB.

I always thought that the phone calls about 'shorts' was suspicious. People discuss drugs on the phone, but they use code words. I mean, who in their right mind says 'Hey! Get your butt back here with the rest of my eightball!' or 'You owe me a gram of cocaine from last night at the club!'. Maybe Brittanee walked off knowingly or unknowingly, with the rest of somebody's stash. "Shorts" is slang for leftovers or change. "Give me (back) my leftovers". "Give me back my change".

Why wasn't anyone looking out for this poor girl? Those 'friends' do have a degree of responsibility here that a) isn't negligible and b) can't be ignored by law enforcement.

You may be right bout the "slang". This has always felt like some drug/druggies were involved. However, one has to admit that Britanee herself took huge risks (taking off on this trip when her family said no was the first big risk)

I am sorry that this happened to Britanee but how in the world would her friends be liable for whatever happened to her?? From what I have read they weren't even really friends or close or?? There might be moral responsibility but legal?? I doubt it

They were not her babysitters, why would they "look out" for her??

I'm guessing LE decided to put this all out in the media to make these POIs sweat it out. They have id these people. They know it's them. They know an arrest is imminent. It's a matter of time one of them will squeal. I'm guessing the 1 piece of evidence they need is Britt's body. Horrible thought but praying for the Drexel family tonight can't imagine the pain.

Johnson said there is no reason to believe the persons of interest knew Drexel directly.

Does this statement mean they knew her through someone else? Just a thought also, the article stated they hired an investigator from Maine because they had resources such as cadaver dogs. I first thought this meant the investigators CUE hired. But realized these are new investigators hired by LE to help find her body.

Very true and i'm hoping ONE of them is thinking real hard and will tell what he knows.

Goodnight all..

If they were just a drug connection that Brit was sent to by others, they wouldn't have known her but would have still been able to get her in a car.

I'm worried that they can't proceed without a body, because if she was dumped in the area locals were talking about that is over-run by wild boars, they may never find her (those things will eat everything IIRC, bone and all).

I hope they finally get answers. I think the worst part of something like this would be not knowing. You can't move on if you don't know what happened.

If they get a search warrant at least they could find dna or maybe something that belonged to Brit, maybe the phone.

"Johnson said the evidence continues to point to southern Georgetown County as the place something may have happened to Drexel. He said that is based on the amount of text messages she sent in the days before her disappearance.

“She was constantly on the phone texting. Then it all stopped when she went missing,” he said. “It was like someone took the phone.”"

I wonder if this means she was constantly texting until her phone was in southern Georgetown.

That would indicate she was comfortable in a car with these people until then.

ETA: May also explain her leaving the hotel around 8:10-8:15ish (I have forgotten times and I'm not sure they were ever exact anyway) and her last text to JG around 9:15. I still do wonder what they were saying -- it never was released. I wonder if she was telling them she was "on a drug run" (suspection) and that's why he became skeptical so quick when she stopped replying.

"Bailey told reporters Friday, the persons of interest are from the North Santee area and, he said, they know what happened to Drexel."

This info narrows down the POI's location.

- "South Carolina police said Friday that they have identified three or four persons of interest and say the case is now being investigated as a homicide."

From my experience, LE never says this unless they have really strong evidence. I've never seen this said without DNA or a body. Oh no :( and before, weren't they saying, "This will probably turn into a homicide investigation. Now they are saying it is for sure?

- "Drexel says police believe they are close to an arrest in connection with her daughter's disappearance."

I love hearing this news and I hope justice for Britt is swift.

"Myrtle Beach Police say now, they just need that last piece of evidence to make a solid arrest in this case. They are still asking people to come forward with any information they might have."

Since I'm going under the assumption they have clues that the POI's were on N. Ocean Blvd that night, I'm thinking that their last piece of evidence is a witness placing them wherever they find B on that night.

Thinking they're looking for a body is too cryptic for me and I have seen arrests without a body. I'm not so sure that's the "last piece" they are referring to.

My opinion. Sorry I'm taking over the thread! I can't sleep thinking about Britt.
