Just noticed the drug arrest was on 9/7/21, so 3 days after the shooting.

Remember, PM had been receiving threats from supposed strangers since the incident in 2019. So who knows what the heck is going on.

If AM hired Eddie Smith as a shooter in the double murder in Moselle, then AM practiced a form of subconscious self-sabotage in using Smith again as the perpetrator in his own fraudulent suicide.

If the suspect is also responsible for the double murder, I have to wonder how he could be so accurate with the two unwilling victims, and so inaccurate with the willing victim.

It makes sense in a way though. You can’t just find someone willing to jeopardize their freedom in agreeing to a scheme like that.

He was desperate, and the clock was ticking. This guy was the easiest choice, and he knew he’d say yes.

Fortunately this guy failed.

I hate movies where the bad guy dies, and he never really has to pay for what he did. I look at real life the same way.

Will he turn on Alex for a plea?
I think he has to. Because if they charge him with attempted murder, that is much worse than 'assisting' someone with suicide.

Maybe the plan was never to kill him---AM never really wanted to kill himslf---maybe it was always just to be wounded and stage a shooting for sympathy from public.

we know SS was killed with a blue truck. And we know that CS has a blue truck. Coincidence?

Was it positively finalized that SS died from being hit by a blue truck? I do believe his mother would not agree.

Was the blue truck involved in the death of SS a Toyota, due to paint flakes that matched with a Toyota?

Is CS standing beside a dark blue Ford truck in his FB pic posted earlier?

I think so. It's worse to stage an assisted suicide to look like a murder to mislead investigators than have an actual assisted suicide staged like murder for insurance money (that went wrong).

I think I figured out why the charge is assisted suicide and not attempted murder. He didn’t actually attempt the murder. He backed out. He didn’t fire a gun or commit any violence. He was just in on the plot.

I still think Alex used the knife to make the head injury. Because SLED has the knife and said it “was tied to” AM. To me that means it has his DNA (blood) on it.

Maybe the goal with AM was not to actually kill him and the initial plan was just to take the heat off of him for the double murder, and then when no one was buying it, they came up with this story. It's not like his lawyer hasn't already said that no one slashes their own tire to commit suicide. The story is already there for them to use, and he may think that it will get him some sympathy. It will be interesting to see what CS says now that he has all these charges.

The charging documents say that he did fire the gun, and did so at Alex’s direction. As such, the assisted suicide charge makes sense to me.

Both were willing participants.

“Mr. Smith followed Mr. Murdaugh to Old Salkehatchie Road and shot Mr. Murdaugh as he stood in the roadway,” one of the probable cause affidavits noted. “After shooting Mr. Murdaugh in the head, Mr. Smith drove to an unknown location where he disposed of the firearm. Mr. Murdaugh survived the shooting and was transported to the hospital for treatment.”

If he was willing to set up this scenario to give BM a good life, I think this makes the SS death look more and more like it was a hit set up to get BM out of some trouble, and I think it's possible AM set that up with CES, too.

What was that other information or evidence found in the June 7 double murder investigation that was linked to SS's death?
Naww what did SS do to earn the wrath of a hit man?

How did AM manage for a knife to give him a fractured skull? And, an entry and exit wound?

If a knife was used, then we've been lied to. I detest a liar, as has been previously stated.

This....and also...without the assisted suicide, it is probably harder to add on the insurance fraud charges. They need CS to talk and give his side. A good way to find out if there really was a real suicide plot for insurance fraud is to load up those charges, so he can dispute them if he needs to.

Don’t you think CS was paid a large sum for this assisted suicide attempt?
Or it would benefit him in some way? Maybe close a door on other deeds? I don't know, just speculating.

Oh I ABSOLUTELY think we have been lied to! The only person that said he had a fractured skull and an exit wound was his slimy lawyer. SLED called it a graze - a very minor wound. (Paraphrasing). I’m definitely going to believe the lead investigating police agency on this one!

A drug dealer who can't shoot straight or probably hit the side of a barn. Quite unique
One word that describes this entire thing to me: PATHETIC!! JMO YMMV

We don't know if Maggie figured out he was on meth and that became a reason to get rid of her, but it was really Paul's death that relieved the financial pressure on AM with the hearing less than 3 days away.

Meth isn't subtle. It would be hard to cover up being a meth addict to your upper class spouse, I think.

I agree about PM and MM. And it probably was an extra benefit if one or both had life insurance. A lot of wins for AM if those two were gone.
