Maybe @Countem would have knowledge of that.

Sadly, I am not familiar with who would have the ability to remove a name from court documentation. I wonder if it was a formal action of the court, if someone just pulled out the white out, or if the name was never even written on the document. Only time will tell.

According to the following article, “It appears that [AM] convinced the court to take his name off of it.”

This apparently is for the Edisto Beach house.
This makes me sad because I know how embarrassed Maggie would be — much worse than bounced check — and probably embarrassing for BM, too.

With MM apparently living separately at Edisto? and a divorce seemingly on the horizon?, I sure get the impression that maybe AM was in the process of not only defrauding his clients and PMPED for millions but he was cleaning out joint marital bank accounts for a personal offshore account(s)? and not paying certain bills, hence, that might explain the new tax lien on Edisto. I've wondered the same and if AM will be a flight risk when he gets out of rehab...whenever that will be.

Wasn't the property in Maggie's name when Ms. Satterfield died? If so could that be the reason the judge agreed?

I think it’s likely some of that money is in an off shore account somewhere.

And I keep thinking high stakes gambling will surface. Huge sums can disappear so fast....

In looking further at the portion of the document that FitsNews has published, it appears that AM’s name was only excluded in the “header” of the order approving settlement, as AM’s name appears in the third sentence of that same document as the owner of the property along with MM.

The same document also has no docket number or court filing information in the “header,” despite the order apparently having been signed by Judge M.

Murdaugh Murders: How Alex Murdaugh Allegedly Took Millions From His Dead Housekeeper’s Family

I am not familiar enough with the legal system to know who typically prepares the order, but, to me, it reads as though the document was presented to the judge in a draft or preliminary state, perhaps with assurances the remainder would be updated at a later date only for it never to get updated nor officially filed and allowing AM to run the activity “off the books”.

All MOO.

NY Times article, Oct. 12, 2021:

Unsolved Murdaugh Murders Expose Years of South Carolina Mysteries

"To some, the Murdaugh name has represented both power and public service. For nearly 90 years and across three generations, the post of chief prosecutor for five counties around Hampton was held by a Murdaugh. And for even longer, the law firm associated with the Murdaugh family has been one of the state’s leading tort litigation firms. Its Hampton headquarters, housed in a red-brick Colonial Revival building, is second in grandeur only to the nearby county courthouse.

To some here, the Murdaugh name has come to stand for a domination of the legal system so pervasive that people, with or without justification, asked whether it had the power to skew the trajectory of justice in the family’s favor.

That is one of the questions investigators are asking now as they examine not only the killing of Mr. Murdaugh’s wife and son, but at least three other deaths that preceded that tragedy.

How much, investigators have been trying to learn, did Alex Murdaugh wield his powerful connections to protect his family and amass his own fortune?"

****An interesting paragraph. Not sure I had heard these details yet:

"Early one morning in February 2018, Ms. Satterfield fell on the front stairs of the Murdaughs’ isolated house. Maggie Murdaugh found her bleeding and called 911, according to Eric Bland, a lawyer for Ms. Satterfield’s two adult sons. He said the Murdaughs told the family that she had tripped over their dogs.

Ms. Satterfield had lost most of her ability to speak, and died several weeks later."

Maggie Murdaugh owned the Moselle property, while the Edisto property was owned by both Alex and Maggie, according to property records.

In December 2016, Alex Murdaugh “sold” the Moselle property to Maggie Murdaugh for $5 “and love and affection,” a court document states.

According to Maggie Murdaugh’s Facebook page, Maggie moved to the Edisto property in July 2020.

First I read that Maggie found her.
Which to me implies that no one saw her fall, much less that the dog/s were involved.

Image shows 3, 2 unpaid 1 paid.
Are all 3 M properties? If so which one was paid.

Thought they were down to 2 properties.

Different counties??
would not show up together.

Question.

If AM bought/traded to get moselle in 2013? Then transferred to MM in 2016, why would AM’s policy cover moselle accident and not cover boat accident?
The boat was his even though he wasn’t driving, the property was not his.

Just confussing.

I am probably late to this, but there were a couple big wows toward the end of the latest FITS News Mandy Matney podcast:
  • Gloria Satterfield had fractured ribs at times of death per son FB post (never heard this!)
  • Gloria Satterfield may have died at Moselle rather than Holly Street (i had heard both addresses were claimed, suggesting to me at least one insurance claim may have been fraudulent)
  • Korey Fleming suspended by bar on Friday (well good)
  • Moo

I am wondering if the insurance companies will be the next lawsuit to get their money back.

Court documents show that Lloyds, London Underwriters initially agreed to a $505,000 settlement. Other insurers, Brit Syndicates Ltd. and Nautilus Insurance Company, agreed to pay $4.3 million in exchange for the final release of liability coverage. Subtracting legal fees and other costs, Satterfield’s sons were entitled to $2.8 million, according to an order signed off on by 14th Circuit Judge Carmen Mullen on May 13, 2019.

I’m with you that the insurance is confusing but my impression has been that the “wrongful deaths” were chronologically too close (i.e., you can only be covered for so many high ticket accidents within a few years of each other).

I guess these are umbrella policies, but my other thought was, would a marine claim be in different category from one on land?

Philadelphia Indemnity Insurance filed a federal suit claiming it has “no duty to defend” the Murdaugh’s and their policy provides “no coverage” to the family.

Insurance company claims it’s ‘not responsible’ in Mallory Beach death lawsuit | WSAV-TV

In the suit, the insurance company says Richard Murdaugh’s policy does not cover accidents involving boats.

Even if it did, the only member of the family named in the policy is the father, Richard Murdaugh, not his sons.

So if GS was found bleeding at the bottom of the front steps, then nobody saw her fall.
So how do they know she tripped over the dogs? Did the dogs ‘fess up?

It says Maggie found Gloria, but who else was at the home at the time?

Not casting any sort of shade at Maggie.

I think tripping over the dogs would be acceptable to insurance. Getting pushed by someone with anger issues would not. No police report, no real-time investigation. Who’s to know? MOO.
