Once again---he was divorced in 2000. He has no minor children.
I'm a few pages behind on the thread, but some people on the thread might be mentioning child support because it's been in the media, bbm:

Court records show that Isaak has been divorced since 2000 and has a daughter from his marriage. His ex-wife took him to court several times in the early 2000s in battles over child support payments, records show."

I am curious if the media has copies of the actual Complaint and Affidavit.

They do. One outlet said that they weren’t publishing it, because it was too “graphic.”

One more thought and i am off to bed. Between hazen and washburn there are only 3 chiropractors. And they all do very well moneywise. The other 2 chiropractors drive new vehicles and live in very nice houses. Dr isaak drove a late 90s f150 and lives in a trailerpark. Something doesnt fit.

I'm way behind but possibly gambling habit? MOO

He may have run out of rounds.

Some magazines only hold 9.

Thats a good theory on why he may have resorted to stabbing in addition to shooting.

Its a common maximum for some handguns to only hold 9 rounds in the clip.

The other thought I had on that was maybe he wanted to minimize the noise of gunshots going off so maybe once he initially shot them with the gun then he may have planned to finish them off with the knife. Although if he planned to shoot 9 rounds then whats a few more so the clip running out of bullets seems more likely. Maybe he didnt think to bring an extra fully loaded clip or extra bullets so he resorted to using a knife to finish them off rather than trying to reload his weapon. He may have made the mistake of thinking 9 bullets would be plenty.

Kind of makes you wonder if he didnt expect some of the people to be there. Maybe he only thought 1 or 2 people were present. Once we determine his motive then it should help to find out who his true targets were.

Yes, the child is likely no longer 18, but it looked like WSers were being criticized for making it up that he had a child and child-support issues, when this info was reported in media.

I read that. I'm thinking back to how they were killed (stabbed and shot) and what else may have happened.

And, if he walked from McDonalds (where he left is truck) to RJR, then why did he need to take one of their trucks to get away. Why didn't he walk back to the truck? I read he was trying to trick the surveillance cameras and apparently changed clothing (partially), but was he carrying or hauling something with him when he left so that he needed a truck? Apparently he transferred blood from the scene to his own truck. Was blood or anything else found in business truck? JMO

The police affidavit portrays a grisly crime scene in which the Cobbs and Fuehrer were shot and stabbed several times. Fakler had multiple lacerations and stab wounds, and first responders tried in vain to resuscitate him. Fuehrer and the Cobbs were all dead when officers arrived; Lois Cobb’s death was attributed to a cut of her neck, though she also had been shot, according to the affidavit.

Surveillance video shows the assailant entering RJR. wearing brightly colored clothing, then leaving in dark clothing less than 15 minutes later, the documents say. An employee at the McDonald’s told police that she saw a man wearing camouflage ski mask, dark pants and dark shoes get into a white Ford F-150 that morning.

I think he walked there, because he hadn’t committed a crime yet.

He didn’t want to have his vehicle caught on surveillance at the building.

Once he committed the murders, his priority was getting away from that location as soon as possible.

Hence the work truck.

Court documents release more information on quadruple homicide

The affidavit says 44-year-old Chad Isaak is accused of shooting and stabbing the victims.

Documents say surveillance video shows Isaak arriving at 6:47 a.m. on Monday. Isaak was wearing a bright colored top, dark pants and bright colored head gear.

Isaak can be seen leaving the building around 7a.m. now wearing all dark clothing. An RJR vehicle is then driven away and parked at Indigo Signs. Police say they found blood smears on the door handles along with bright orange fibers inside the vehicle.

Police then see Isaak walk westbound towards Bill Barth Ford and out of view of surveillance.

Documents say a McDonald’s employee contacted law enforcement and told them she saw a man wearing a camouflage ski mask, dark pants and dark shoes. The employee also said the man had something stuffed in his jacket, which he placed inside a white Ford F150 and drove off.

Doesn't seem like that would be burglary. I wonder if he stole money.

Burglary is entering a location you're not supposed to be in. So if he wasn't invited or let in, he broke in/forced his way in.

ETA: I came in a few pages back and have now seen others also commented the same. Sorry for the duplication.

Or addiction?

He also would have hefty equipment rental or purchase payments to make.

Ah ha.

So he did have on a ski mask.

And it sounds like he may have been walking around with it on after he got out of the work truck and walking over to his truck.

What kind of criminal mastermind thinks they can walk around with a ski mask and not be noticed. Sheeessshhh. Sounds like he was so irate with the business that he made a ton of mistakes.

He must have known where the truck keys were stashed?

That's exactly right! … and is there a possibility that someone else is involved? It would be hard to believe - but then this whole crime is difficult to believe, too.
