IMO - moreso a murder suicide situation...

Initially that was my thinking, until the police chief said “the four people didn’t do it themselves.”

That statement, coupled with today’s search of a field, seems to point definitively to law enforcement believing this to be mass murder, and not a murder suicide.

I wondered about that as well. But LE referred to them all as victims. Still a possibility I suppose.

This could explain the statement from LE that evidence at the scene led them to believe the public is not in danger. Edited to add: I forgot about the field search when typing this, so never mind.

Side note, based on reading online reviews, there’s one disgruntled former tenant who (3 months ago) appeared to escalate their complaints to the point where the company called it harassment and referred them to their attorney. They posted the same complaints on different review sites and even their personal social media.

And that’s the type of person who would do something like this.

Typically, if the perpetrator is someone with a vendetta, they escalate from harassment to violence.

There are usually warning signs.

Not saying that this person did this, or that it was an outside party, but it could very well be someone like him.

That's what I'm wondering. I might be overthinking this, but the reports say LE looked at the neighboring businesses video and didn't see any vehicles from 10pm the previous night until 7am Monday morning. I think I have that right.

Well....when and how did the VICTIMS arrive at the location?

Were they in the office Sunday night??

Perhaps the driver of the truck never entered the office that morning so didn't know anything happened - just simply got into the work truck and left? (That does seem a bit odd...you'd think you check in with someone, but perhaps not).

I definitely want to know when the victims arrived.

great question! Maybe earlier like 6 am?

Agreed. Especially if the person thinks they exposed their newborn to a potential disease. (Part of the accusation in the reviews...) MOO

That would be a good place to start.

I wouldn't quite know how to get back to business as usual. Owner has been killed along with 3 other employees. With only 22 employed, I think they all know each other and it would be more than difficult to go back...JMO.

Can business be conducted without the owners? Is payroll still able to operate? I'm just pondering things over..

Not sure I'd want to go back to work a day later! Isn't that kinda quick?!

Their daughter works there as well, as bookkeeper.

Robert & Jackie Fakler: 5 Fast Facts You Need to Know | Heavy.com

There are 22 employees listed on the RJR “Meet Our Team” section of the official website. On his Facebook page, one of Jackie Fakler’s cousins says he is employed at RJR. The couple’s daughter is a bookkeeper for RJR. The business has been in operation for more than 20 years, collecting rents for landlords, organizing rentals of apartments and maintaining buildings for landlords, along with snow and lawn care.

They have now taken down their whole page "our story" including "meet our team". I would imagine they are trying their best to protect their employees during this difficult time.

Someone might have already mentioned this, according to the company FB page, they hosted a storage auction on March 29.

Can someone help me understand what this means? I’m not familiar with storage auctions.

Typically in the case of storage auctions, someone has stored belongings in a storage unit, and has missed payments.

In order to recoup the money that the company has lost, they will auction off the belongings in the unit.

Many times, it is “sight unseen,” meaning the bidders don’t know what is in there.

Sometimes they are provided with a general idea.

There are reality tv shows that document people who bid on storage lockers for a living.

They turn around and sell what they have acquired.

If someone missed payments and their stuff was sold, that might make that person angry. Angry enough to kill four people? Probably not...but what would make someone that angry?

I think this comes down to either a disgruntled employee, or someone really unhappy with the business.

The apparent lack of an arrest, makes me think it’s more likely to be the latter.

We just know so little at this point, that the possibilities are really endless.

This could also be some sort of a love triangle.

We literally haven’t learned anything since yesterday.

So frustrating.

Well at least we now know her whereabouts. There is no information on her location while all of this was happening, right?

I'm stunned that she's able to go to work 2 days after her husband and employees were killed. I'm not being negative - I'm truly stunned that she has the courage and the desire. I hope this is helpful to them all in healing from this tragedy.

She probably needs her workers as much as they need her.

It has to be a trying time for all of them. At least together they will be able to give comfort to each other.

Plus she knows most likely the employees need to work to be able to support their families. She may not think she can pay them when they are off work.

Maybe they also wanted to see who came back to work today, and how they were all acting.

Who knows what may have been stashed in that storage unit.

I would tend to agree, with someone unhappy with the business my first choice. I would think the other employees, and surviving owner would probably be able to tell LE who it most likely is.

Some people are "injustice collectors." Those who store up anger at any and all wrongs they believe have been done to them..Such a person could be angry enough to kill. A tenant, a receiver of some service from RJR, a former or current employee, a relative who feels mistreated or left out of the "pie" so to speak.

On the other hand, anger may not have played into the motive at all. Someone may have been interrupted in a burglary, there may be fraud going on that was discovered recently, a love interest may have taken out the one person in their way..this would imply as I have hypothesized before that only 1 persons targeted and the others were collateral damage.

I have no knowledge if any one of these scenarios is more likely than the others, but at this point in time, I consider all of them possibilities. JMO

Google "Storage Wars" (TV show in USA)

If it was fraud, the fraud would still exist and could not be wiped out by a murder.

Yes, all possibilities. Nowadays it could be anything.

So many seem to have such a short fuse, and thin skin, and will go into a murderous rage over even trivial things.

I'm not sure if there was only one target though. When workplace violence happens like this there seems to be multiple targets.

In this case, I think it would depend on where each victim was located.

Since LE has said it's a large crime scene area that tends to make me think the killer was hunting all four victims as specific targets to kill.

Jmo tho

If it is related to the victims, maybe we can narrow it down from what we know. Victims:
  • Owner
  • Account Specialist
  • Maintenance Supervisor
  • Adam: not listed on the website as one of "our team"
Do we know what Adam did? Were the married couple (account specialist and maintenance supervisor) known to be arriving at the time of the murder, or was that speculation?

If all four were targeted, maybe someone had maintenance issues that ran into the thousands of dollars, the maintenance supervisor decided is was the tenant's fault, the account specialist charged extra fees for the maintenance, and the owner condoned the decision?
