I thought that all along, as a strong possibility anyway. However, if they were all brutally killed then I may rethink..And also since the victims, besides the owner, were employed in the maintenance area of the business, there may be a reason for all of them.

One more thing, maybe none of them was specifically targeted and he just showed up to kill whoever was there, to make a point (whatever?) Otherwise, wondering how he would know those 4 exact people including the owner would be there that early on a Monday morning. Did he have and appt? JMO
I’ve wondered if maybe he set up an appt with the owner and the management couple over an issue he was having. The maintenance employee might have been wrong place, wrong time. This would explain CI knowing victims would be at RJR at this time of day.

According to one MSM report (statement by LE) he was id'ed as suspect though a tip on first day. Probably why the statement from them that the public was not in any danger. JMO
Video surveillance from the bowling alley was viewed right away. Reportedly there were 2 vehicles caught on tape: RJR company vehicle, and older model white truck -- which CI owned. Soon after LE made contact with CI at random traffic stop, and he was apprehended. The white truck was key here. MOO

It's been reported that RJR owns the park where CI was living. It could be either he rented turn key, or just rented space for his own unit. Either way could be a threat of eviction. MOO

Thanks, I saw that too but then the article Nick linked refers to a different owner.

“Rolf Eggers says he bought the mobile home park in Washburn last fall and Isaak "came with the park." Eggers says that he didn't know Isaak. He says neighbors never complained about him."

Chiropractic school takes four years.
I did not know that.

He may have had significant student loans.

Palmer is a great school and CI graduated with honors, so maybe he had some tuition aid. Last night I posted maybe he had 100k in loans, but I want to correct myself - he was 44 so obviously he made a significant dent in the loans, with 13 years of practice.

And his nursing school tuition was probably helped by his military service.

Plus, his divorce was in 2000, so I doubt there was any remaining child support.

He lived frugally, so if finances were a motive, how could that be? And he was careless, as one of the Cobb daughters said, since he parked his truck at RJR and it was on camera. How in the world did he get so full of rage?

Would the GI bill cover chiropractor school?

You could use GI bill for chiro school. I doubt it would cover the full cost however. I have no idea what Chiro school tuitions look like.

Still waiting to see what the motive was here. There must be something.

Unauthorized use of a vehicle? Wonder what that's all about.
Thinking he was the one driving the RJR work truck off the premises? Maybe.

There are a couple of comments from late last night about graduating in 2006, setting up a business, but closing the business in 2008 because he didn't have a license. He obtained a license in 2009 and it was renewable in September this year.

If he was practicing without a license, he probably did not have insurance. If he was sued during that time period, he would be paying that out of pocket.

They stated he opened his office 2006 but didn't obtain his license until 2008 in an earlier post

It was reported that CI's parents reside in Hazen, ND -- a town of about 2,500 people. It was also reported that CI returned to Hazen after his divorce and started providing chiropractic services here (2006-2008). I don't believe he closed his office because he had no license, but because he moved to another town. He probably felt comfortable operating under the table at "home" but became licensed when he relocated to larger area where he was unknown and more apt to be scrutinized. MOO

Thinking he was the one driving the RJR work truck off the premises? He stole it? Maybe.

Doesn't seem like that would be burglary. I wonder if he stole money.

I deleted my comment, too much speculation.

Charge isn't burglary but 'unauthorized use of a vehicle'.

If he drove off the lot that morning in an RJR truck, he somehow got his own truck back because that's what he was driving when he was stopped and ultimately arrested.

I was also wondering what, specifically, the 'unauthorized use of a vehicle' refers to, especially considering what we know about the vehicles seen arriving and leaving on surveillance video.

Hmmm, wow! I've been in property (commercial and residential) management for about 20 years and we rarely, if at all, have cash around at all. Still, why go to RJR? Odd to me.

Mandan, ND has a population of about 20,000. Many of residents are old timers that farmed the outer area for years-- and move to "town" when they are older. Not unusual for many of them to be on a "cash basis." Also, like MT, ND is another place with vast pocket areas of no cell/internet service so again many of the services we take for granted are not readily available, part of their lifestyle, and/or desired. Shot and stabbed seems so personal. I can’t understand murder at all but if someone is irate or burglarizing, I get shooting sprees but stabbing? My imagination is running amok, probably time to find a new case...
